The best era of Savatage. Hall Of The Mountain King and Gutter Ballet. I was looking so forward to hearing more music by them with this sound and energy. Streets A Rock Opera was good, but alot of the heavier sound was gone and the magical vibe that was on this and Hall Of The Mountain King was missing. His guitar work on Edge Of Thorns was awesome, but it sounded like he joined a different band with a different singer. Zack had awesome vocals, but Criss and Jon was magical and unbeatable together. Although i understood why Jon couldn't continue singing at the time. All that touring and singing destroyed his voice. Zack was more vocally trained than Jon. They reminded me of Queensryche with Zack. Which isn't a bad thing, It completely changed Savatage's sound.
One of the most underrated bands of all time Criss Oliva is one of the greatest guitar players ever and Jon makes Savatage great
