    Have you had a chance to travel with the Stram Deck yet?

    As a gamer dad that never has time to game the steam deck is amazing. The standby option just makes it easy for me to actually finish games. Highly recommended!

      Agreed, it's been quite nice. Once I got Diablo 4 working, I actually started using it more again.

    It looks like a cool system. I’ve not delved into PC stuff yet but I do eventually wanna play.

      It's been pretty cool. I just took it on another trip and it's nice to unwind a little bit with Spider-Man and swinging across the city and getting collectibles.

    I don't have a high end gaming PC(got a laptop but not super powerful. got it for audio engineering) so I've been eyeing this. I probably have another 2 years to decide though

    great video! I'm still debating on whether to take my switch OLED or Deck for travel (gone for a week and flying 8-9hours)... on the switch (since i'm a new owner), i have BOTW and metroid prime remastered.. also thinking of picking up Pokemon Legends, kirby and luigi's mansion.. what would you do in that case?

    • @BusyDadGaming
      @BusyDadGaming  Год назад +2

      I'd say it depends if you have access to an outlet or not. If you do, I would prefer the Steam Deck. If I didn't, I'd rely on the Switch since it gets better battery life. Battery life would be my primary decider on this one.

  • @ToroTechie
    @ToroTechie Год назад +1

    I'm thinking of picking one up but I already have a Asus zephyrus 14 inch RTX 3060 gaming laptop.

    • @BusyDadGaming
      @BusyDadGaming  Год назад +1

      Gaming laptop is definitely more versatile, but the Steam Deck is definitely lighter and easier to travel with. The key between the two would be what games you'd be playing and how portable do you want them to be.

  • @TheGamerGuy1981
    @TheGamerGuy1981 Год назад +1

    Due to the SIze,Battery,lack of OLED screen and no guessing games required I still prefer my switch OLED. THe steamdeck is improving but it's not quite there yet. I have 500+ Steam titles and only about 90 are even compatible.

    • @BusyDadGaming
      @BusyDadGaming  Год назад +1

      Yeah, makes sense. The Switch OLED I just don't play very often so the Steam Deck makes more sense for me.

    • @TheGamerGuy1981

      @@BusyDadGaming I know I'll absolutely pick one up eventually,just waiting for improved battery and better compatibility. I'd love a smaller size but that alone isn't a deal breaker.
      Happy gaming

      Yeah, makes total sense. Steam Decks were on sale recently, so that was cool to see. Valve isn't the fastest to deliver revamped hardware so we may be waiting a while for a v.2. Hope it improves in some key areas though.
      Same to you, enjoy!

    Hey there thx for the video, im new to this and want to get a steam deck but im worried about when i wanna play offline, do i have to keep it on sleep mode all the time after starting it while connected then disconecting? Would you still reccomend this
    I cant just start it up and play uncharted or call of duty story mode?

    • @BusyDadGaming
      @BusyDadGaming  9 месяцев назад

      It doesn’t have a fast restart mode that works well. I tend to shut it down when I know I won’t be using it for a bit, otherwise I keep it in sleep mode.

      Budget airlines usually don't have it but airlines that use stuff like the A380/747 or more expensive airlines should have them

    I like gaming but I don’t NEED it. When I got locked out of my 360 account in January, a Sudoku game that I’ve played since 2006, at an average of 60-90 minutes a day was gone and that’s not counting the time on my other console play time. Now, even with a XBSX console, I only play 60 minutes a day. So a handheld game unit, it’d be a waste if someone gave me one.

    • @BusyDadGaming
      @BusyDadGaming  2 года назад +1

      Makes total sense and really comes down to how you would use it.

    what about the batterie life? does it worth it ?

    • @BusyDadGaming
      @BusyDadGaming  Год назад +1

      It depends on what game and what graphical settings you're playing on. If you're maxing out the performance of the deck, expect between 1 to 1.5 hrs of battery life. If it's not very intensive, you can get 3+ hours out of it.

    • @4zv4l38
      @4zv4l38 Год назад

      yes it is worth it, I can get around 6/8 hours of battery life on some light game (into the breach, pokemon fire red, bad north,...)
      on some heavy game like Marvel Spiderman I get around 2 hours.
      if you plan to go on a trip you can get an external battery life and easily play 10h of Marvel Spiderman

    MY STEAM DECK IS SILENT YOU MUST HAVE GOTTEN A Q1 VERSION MY FAN IS SUPER QUIET AND BATTERY LIFE IS AMAZING

    • @BusyDadGaming
      @BusyDadGaming  2 года назад +1

      That's very possible, but even Digital Foundry has noted the sound issue with the fan. The updates have made it better, but I'm running a game at best possible settings, it's loud.

    Why does everyone has so much problems with the fan noise…. Fucking look at every laptop or just compare it to the turbine powered ps3. The deck is nothing to it I don’t even hear the fans to the extend where I think it’s annoying.

    • @BusyDadGaming
      @BusyDadGaming  Год назад

      Depends how hard you push the hardware. It can get pretty loud for me, even with the updates to the fan curve. The PS3 did sound like a jet engine, lol.
