I love how you make sure you have as few extras as possible to play things enjoyably, while I carry at least 3 of everything.
    4 USB C cables, 6 USB C adaptors, 11 controllers, 9 SD cards, 2 HDMI cables, 2 docks, a 100W charger and 27000mAh 100W Power bank, etc.

The “family man” vibe is admirable, I love that your wear your faith openly, and your hoodies always look so damn comfortable. Adorable ball of fluff! Finding the right accessories for your lifestyle is a lot of work especially since you can't really test them before buying. The only "case" I think I'm looking at right now is two separate end pieces that clip over the left and right of the Deck and allow it to still fit a dock. It's by Jsaux. That and a screen protector, I'll wait till I actually have a Deck to decide on anything else.

    Enjoying the format.
I always wanted to make a video on my “EDC” gamer focused pack configurations. I’ve owned multiple molle style packs for a long time now, though nearly all of them have been sling packs, and the level of utility and modularity for configuring one's needs has always been what makes them so attractive.
Prior to now I was a jetset driver, during the covid period I had faced multiple delays and spent most of my time portable gaming in the airports or hotels. My carry on pack was a Maxpedition Pecos 24L that was topped off with gaming gear. It was heavy but I got to beat a lot of games with all the down time in between flights. I once carried my PS5 in it, which was insane.
I now run a 5:11 Moab 8 but it cannot accommodate much gear. It’s a nice little pack but if I were to bring my Steam Deck I’d have to place it vertically in the main compartment and use almost all of the space up. Packs aside, I haven’t bought any accessories apart from a anti-glare screen protector for my LCD model. I don’t mind the look of the Steam Deck but it’s definitely not one of the attractive looking gaming devices.

I have a JSAUX mod case. Comes with a detachable kick stand, and a removable strap you can strap a battery into for the back of the device. Removable hard faceplate so it’s very minimal going into a bag and doesn’t need another case on top of.
Best part: it comes with an adapter for the official steam deck dock so it can fit onto the dock.

I've had the skull and co grip, thumb stick grips and the travel case since the first day I got my deck. I think the grip is the best one out there. I did have problems with it powering the device on when it was in the case.. so I just cut out the button. Then used a demel to round out and widen the hole (I bit like the headphone jack hole) so I could press the power button.. I love how you csn stand it up, which I do a lot, when connected to monitor, TV and whilst on charge.

I didn't expect to find my answers here regarding skull and co accessories and cases compatibility. So from what I get, the thumb grips will fit nicely into the tomtoc case without being pressed down? Cause I do use the thumbgrips and steam deck original carry case will always press down on them with just slight pressure at the case. I'm now looking for that perfect carry case so I can bring my steam deck with me on international flights.

Agree steam deck is pretty solid as a "one and done", but would argue that you would probably do well to add a LORG microSD since many games can be big, to the point that it's almost required depending on what you're playing.

Question, it doesn't press on the analog sticks? And can you link me what's the largest. It's either I get this (since I already have the grip of skull&co) or the tomtoc bag which is expensive.

I have the Tomtoc case and also the DBrand Killswitch grip and even with the kickstand attached it fits in the TomToc case no problem so that extra room inside is welcome. I tried an etched glass screen protector on my SD and I really didnt get on with it, has a sort of rainbow film grain effect to it, making the screen look unclear. I ended up taking it off and trying some regular glass screen protectors from Spigen but I could not get them on without getting dust underneath. Hard enough for something the size of a phone. Ended up wasting £30 trying two of them, £50 if you include the ectched glass ones. I gave up after that and am going with naked glass. I figure its in my hands or in the case, it should be fine.

    Great cup!
In general I've got a similar setup for my Deck.
I've got a JSAUX carrying case for mine. I work in IT, so my "Go" bag always has a USB-C laptop charger in there which doubles for my Deck charger as well when my deck leaves the house. I used to have a cover on my deck, but I took it off in favor of having a transparent RGB back plate, which works well for me. I bought a large battery charger as well, though my family has borrowed it and now it's gone, so I'll have to grab a new one eventually.
Do the thumb caps affect the gyro?

It is what it is. I tend to focus on “what is” rather than “Would could be”. I have little to no faith in emulation. It’s a gray area that will always be fighting to stay accessible. I have so little time to enjoy this hobby, that I cannot be bothered by aspects of it that are constantly in a state of fluctuation. While I enjoy the idea of game preservation on any device, the reality of the matter is, it is still not “technically “legal.
