All 3 doing some great licks as usual. All are amazing its a joy to listen to them. Also don't confuse intense focus and concentration with looks of disappointment or being overly serious. All 3 are pushing each other to insane levels of creativity. Condensed in a small period of time they all need to be at the top of their game. To do what they do night after night is astounding. I wish Guthrie was on the 2007 G3, with Paul Gilbert. I would have loved to see the long solo section on Always With Me, Always With You, when each guy got a play a nice melodic solo. Guthrie would have been so good at that. Paul Gilbert owned it as it was, Petrucci wasn't that good in that solo, and Satch, well, he's Satch, been hearing his same blues licks for a long time.

Guthrie is painfully boring as a player and as a performer, he could play e.g. EVH Beat It solo note for note and still play it like a robot without the feeling and intensity. Jason Bonham (son of John) has said when he hears many people play his Dad's stuff on drums they lack feeling even the those technically very good. I was there too honestly when Satriani and Vai played my buttocks would literally quiver like jelly at times but when Govan played I never felt like that once. Govan is technically exceptional though, no question on that.
