Satriani and Vai are MARVELOUS players! But, when Yngvie Malmsteen steps up to the plate and shows 'em how it's really done, who did you say Joe Satriani and Steve Vai are...?!?!? Absolutely KILLER performance. If that music teacher calls and asks for his video back, don't say a word (just hang up!). ⚡🤪💥🔨⚡
I first saw this back in 2004 and I have always come back to watch this clip in some form or another...and I am.not even into baroque rock. This is just such an awesome performance in so many regards. Respect from a funk bass player.
same for me. Pretty much the same time. I only knew of YJM as a wanker but that's from people who are ignorant of the path he blazed for the instrument. No one did it like him before he came along, truly an innovator. He just kinda happens to be a little cheesy at the same time. I can look past it.
@@MeAndMyShadowBand Genuinely great players like Satriani and Vai fall into the "intermediate" category in the face of someone like Malmsteen (both playing and performance-wise). I love all three. My God! What a fantastic combination to see in concert...!!!! ⚡👍🥴⚡
@@Da_Xman That's true technique wise, but over the years (been playing for 30) I've grown to appreciate the Satriani and Vais of the world because they truly were original and wrote some great tunes, with some interesting techniques they both invented. I moved past them on to Yngwie cause, well it's Yngwie and it's mind blowing when you first hear and see it. But now I've gone back to appreciating Satriani for his originality and ability to write very cool melodic stuff, with some groove variety. Those dudes are pretty badass in their own way. Yngwie is the true great pillar of shred though
I was going to say, one of the best things about this is the metal drumming. Not rock. Metal. Alllllll the other showman guitarists in this league have super plain rock drumming. So boring. Also Yngwie applies some really good and dark vibes along with all the super colorful and epic shredding.
his DiMarzios and his current Seymour Duncan are both stacked single-coil humbucker sets; the secret is in his vintage Marshall head, the classic one with only one knob
mine never goes out of tune either, and it's only a mexican strat, poor quality. i used to own a yngwie signature and that thing never went out of tune. it's all in how you put your strings on and keeping your bridge properly set up
I also have two strats and the tuning is quite stable. And Yngwie's strats has the vintage 6 point bridge, which is supposed to be less stable. A lubricated nut with well craved slots, a proper setup, new strings, are always a good start.
Malmsteen is soooo far and away BEYOND both Satriani and Vai (both incredible players themselves!). They're both VERY acutely aware of it too. (QUESTION: Just how good is "GOOD"...?!?!?
My guitar teacher lent me this dvd 10 years ago for a week. I still have it.
😂
Same here bro. Just a burnt copy on a CD. Changed my life.
😂🤣🤣

Best guitar teacher ever, bro.

I the end, on that last harmonic, you can ear how the guitar screams in pain! Fucking awesome!!
I'll do anything to recreate that sound on my strat
Same here. I hope someone can help out on this.maybe some guidelines at least any hind that we can replicate that sound@seanburton5700
i like his tone so much
That whammy bar pull at 2:34 sounds like a plane going down! Brutal!
I also imagine a screaming eagle hunting!
I really wish there was a CD with this rendition. It's SO much better than the original recording
Doppelsöldner there is, it's the live cd
There is
Buy the DVD and and also there is a G3 album you can obtain on ITunes
That drummer has the best feeling
patrick johannson
Malmsteen's entire cosmic band outstrips Satriani and Vai (both galactic players themselves).

I was quite impressed with him at that show
Destaque pro Som de Bateria perfeito.
That DRUMMER man and His whole band was Awesome for those Shows...
Changed my life 🙏🏻
Sensacional.
He is one and only
Cant imagine how evil this masterpiece is...
Stage presence, performance level...
Yngwie J. Malmsteen is definitely lit!!!
Oh my god, the. Best of Harmony and sound
The best ever !!! Fuck what a guitar player !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i really wish theyd make G3 dvd or bluray again.
They don't? I bought this concert off Amazon.
He turned G3 into Yngwie and friends
the one he did with alcatraz ....that was the best evil eye live version
hands down his phrasing was much more intelligent in those days.
2:40...!!!!!!!!!!
+Manolis Xalaris impossible!!!
crazy !
somehow in 2017 i specifically searched for this video just to watch that awesome 2:40 moment !!! hahaha
Damn, wtf. That's some beyond-godlike sh*t
Pretty sure his performance was redubbed.
I c this clip many times . Really love him so much.
Badass riff. Ygwie was the best out of the g3
Ricardo Sotosan Yeah! YJM is the Ultimate.
Malmsteen is cosmic, Satriani and Vai are merely galactic...
Best of the BEAST ☢☣☢👊💪💪🗣💣🗣💣
great tone on this show
Memorável!! magnífico!!
vdd
Last part is incredible
Da BEST EVER in speed playing weW RAPZA!!!
Pat' double evil bass !! the drum's master
amazing band !
Yngwie is GOD
That opening sweep is so wild
The one and only
This man makes me question wether or not hes actually playing on 3 single coils
The middle one is a dummy coil and the bridge and neck are stacked singles, the set of 3 from seymour duncan are sick!!
his DiMarzios and his current Seymour Duncan are both stacked single-coil humbucker sets; the secret is in his vintage Marshall head, the classic one with only one knob
Es demasiado rock para un humano jajajajajajaja❤
yngwie is awesome.....
now listen to this song with alcatrazz, its even better 35 years ago
Insane
i miss fat Yngwie :(
Tava possuído nesse dia ai
If god was a guitar player
He IS...!
⚡👍🥴⚡
Monster
Sounds evil just like Mr Crowley and far beyond the sun
Far beyond the Crowley
The real question is when he tries to divebomb the guitar how the fuck is it staying in tune?
mine never goes out of tune either, and it's only a mexican strat, poor quality. i used to own a yngwie signature and that thing never went out of tune. it's all in how you put your strings on and keeping your bridge properly set up

does anyone know the drummers name? thanks.
Patrick Johansson. yea he reminds me of Pickles from Metalocalypse.
+Ammar Tareen he's name is patrick johanssen
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Te amo gordo!!! Jajaja
😂😂😂
Can anyone briefly explain how he made his guitar scream? Was he doing pinch harmonics and a whammy bar dive or something?
Rhandy rhoads technique:
Pinch harmonic and bend the note by bending the neck not the string
Is it just me or do the guitar parts seem overdubbed, maybe just the syncing of the video?
Video editing. Audio is untouched but video is not. Sometimes the video is not even from the same night.
This video is an outtake from G3 IN DENVER. It's all from the same concert (or are you talking about something else?).
The kicks 🤣
Lol...he took over singing too!
HOW DOES HE THROW HIS GUITAR AROUND HIS NECK AND CATCH IT ON THE NOTE HE NEEDS TO PLAY, EVERYTIME! Im not saying its aliens....
🌋👑🌋
Steve Vai who?
Malmsteen is soooo far and away BEYOND both Satriani and Vai (both incredible players themselves!). They're both VERY acutely aware of it too. (QUESTION: Just how good is "GOOD"...?!?!?
I cry in the 2:38 "D Minor"
ade antu kt gitar dia ni....
best sound and the worst resolution jeje
Get a woman pregnant to this song your son would ba born a war lord in the old days lol
Nesse dia , ele estava com o diabo no corpo, nao e pussivel
What is the classic he plays at the beginning?
It's the opening to "Evil Eye"...
Before he hits the stage? Improv probably
"Bourée" Johann Krieger
