This shows how spectacular Kiko is as a guitarist, he's holding his own in a fusion jam with Guthrie Govan while also being the only guitarist to play in Megadeth that hasnt been a downgrade from Friedman.
Of course not. Dave Mustaine can be hard to work with but he 100% know a great guitarist when he hears them!

@@Sweedurbex agree with Kiko but Megadeth has been churning out some generic albums lately. Since United abominations Dave's songwriting isn't the same. It's a little too one dimensional and I feel due to this his guitarists are unable to deliver 100% of their capabilities. Ive been unable to appreciate Kiko properly. When marty and al were there he was a little more experimental. Mustaine could fit the guitarist in while keeping the sound of Megadeth. People say Risk was not Megadeth but honestly it had megadeths sound. And I've noticed for the past 20 years mustaine doesn't play any material after cryptic writings. Maybe he will add in a song or two from which album he is promoting.

@@gizz730 They're just chromatic notes played up and down on all four fingers. Not the hardest thing in the world. Guthrie can play most guitar players' asses off, of course, but this is fairly easy stuff for an intermediate player.

@@johannlop1076 I agree, it sounds super cool, I was just pointing out it's inaccurate to use his chromatic runs as some sort of proof that he's an otherworldly player. Every single fusion player out there (Martin Miller, Tom Quayle, Jack Gardiner etc.) can do this sort of thing. Plus, Gizz mentions the fact that GG did it without looking as further proof of how badass he is. If you're simply playing chromatics without jumping between anchor points on the neck, that's actually fairly easy compared to, say, the string-skipping legato tapping lick he plays in Wonderful Slippery Thing (which I am still miserably failing at after months of trying XD).

Yeah. We definitely know there are tons of hard leads and amazing musical ideas that great guitarrists like them do. Although, when I listen to the guitar lead of "Live and Learn", a Angra's solo peformed by Kiko... man, I cry... It's beyond my possibilities...

Not even on g3s I have seen any player stand this well besides Guthrie. Kiko is not just playing noises or random notes (although yes, he is improvising), he is getting somewhere with his phrases. I was surprised!

Kiko Loureiro, Guthrie Govan and Ron Thal Bumblefoot..they are all like from the same class taught by some unnamed fussion guitar master who had told them never be like Vai, Satriani and other mainstream typical virtuosos comfortable playing only standard musical modes

It was actually a contest of who could bend their spine backwards disguised as a duet. Kiko forgot to pull his guitar with the rest of his body, and broke the strap.
Guthrie sounds like laser beams and like he's cooking some shit up just before, I wish the guitar drop didn't happen so we could hear the resolution of that idea but instead we get Beethoven's 5th.
Aside from the accident this is one of the best jams I've seen so far , that dude kiko is a beast just as beast as Guthrie ... both of them killed it ...

Na verdade, antes do Angra, o Kiko quase deixa o Rock de lado pra ser guitarrista de Jazz.
Kiko é melhor no metal e o outro guitarrista é melhor nesse blues/jazz fusion/progressivo, mas o Kiko Loureiro foi tão bem que talvez seja justo um empate.
O que valeu foi o show de técnica.
Não existe melhor guitarrista do mundo, pode existir o mais rápido, mas tanto no rock, blues , jazz, metal vai ter a técnica e os estilos são diferentes e o que vale é o feeling.

It's definitely NOT one of those silly "battles", but rather a conversation among two behemoths of guitar. I'm a huge fan of both, they have different styles but in this jam their sounds fit so well together.

You all are insane if you do not find Kiko to be on the same level as Guthrie. If you are familiar with his work as I am. He can literally do all the same techniques as Guthrie. They are the perfect match for each other in playing together.
He was as good of a match for Guthrie here as I've ever seen! Nearest to his standard in terms of improv that I've come across

Guthrie's melody and phrasing is just so much better and more unique. Kiko is amazing, but there are probably 100's of people with the same voice and ability. There's only one Guthrie.

Nobody can really come even remotely close to Guthrie. But Kiko's playing remained interesting the entire time. I wasn't ever wishing he'd stop so I could hear Guthrie again. He's a fantastic player.

I know Kiko since the 90s and he just don't stop evolving. He is a metal guitarist for sure, but to jam with GG is something for a few. GG, Alex Hutchins and Kiko are probably the last guitarist that keep surprising the world with new things. When I listen to Paul Gilbert, kotzen, Vai, Satriani, wylde, Nuno, Morse, Greg howie, they deliver what we expect from them. But this guys, they bring creativity to a new level.
Os dois são feras, ISSO acontece sempre e não tira o brilho do nosso guitarrista, talvez esqueceu de colocar a trava, Valeu Kiko, sou fã dos dois.
