      I think having civility with others is enough for good health even if it is not close personal connections.
      My interpretation of civility is just the absence of hostile connections. As long as there is an absence of hostile connections even if there are no close personal connections then a person should be ok and still thrive.
      The world is not in a universal subjective state of civility yet. I think that is a higher priority concern than building close personal connections whether platonic or romantic.

    Healing from broken relationships requires isolation and most people haven't conquered the battle of being alone. My therapist and counselor have been absolute godsends for my mental health during these trying times in the last few years.
    Somewhere in my desktop I keep a Leon Brown quote that reads the following: "If the past is not resolved, future relationships will suffer. Let your heart heal before you open the door to another."

    • @shmuck66
      @shmuck66 2 месяца назад +4

      I can't agree more. Too many people swing from relationship to relationship without working on themselves. Often I find these people are terrified (and won't admit so) of being alone with their own thoughts and emotions that they have to face and understand that they will deliberately find any escape to avoid it.
      I cherish my alone time and self work, but also the good time spent with friends. Each has it's own unique benefits for personal growth but like everything, must be in moderation.

    Ma’am, problem #1 is JUST what I needed to hear today because I am 100% guilty of #1, the self-loathing right now, and I’ve been single for 3/4 a year as of writing. And every time something goes wrong, even though it’s almost always nothing major that has no effect on the grand scheme of things, I flip into self-degradation mode with verbal self-insults, your example describing my issue reaction to a T. Ma’am you have called me out for my mistake, but for improvement rather then vilifying, and I sincerely, honestly thank you. I’ll make less-self-loathing my #1 personal, non-work priority. Thank you again.

    I found your video resonated deeply with me, as it highlighted all the red flags I encountered with my ex-partner and some she encountered with me. Reflecting on that relationship, I realized the toll it took on my self-worth and my mental health. However, I've since prioritized my personal growth and healing journey, which led me to end things last year and initiate no contact this past January. I've dedicated myself to self-improvement since last June, and I've come to appreciate my worth and what I bring to the table. Currently, I'm content with being single and focused on my personal and professional growth. Despite the challenges in my career path, I refuse to conform to societal expectations. I know my value, despite any misconceptions my ex may have had about me. Life moves forward, and I'm embracing this journey of self-discovery. Thanks for the insightful video. ❤❤

    Dear Anna:
    Happy Sunday darlin,' I hope you are having an amazing day.
    Well, I am sure I have a tiny bit of one or two of the red flags you mentioned here. I believe uncertainty is one red flag that really bothers me, because i like to be a planner, so I really like to know where things are going and how fast; but that is just me. I know for sure from experience one red flag I will no longer tolerate from a woman in the future is the "flaw finder." There is no satisfying those people, and more rhan likely that red flag will bring all the other ones along.
    Well, I accept your mission. I think this week I will work on dealing with certain coworkers who drive me up the wall. I will let you know how it goes.
    Have a great week, Anna. As usual, great video abd you look amazing. Sending you lots of love. Big hug and a peck on each cheek. See you next week.

    7. She wore less and hung out later. I became (uncertain)
    6. I had negative assumptions I never brought up. (I was right)
    5. Maybe I’m wrong here and these aren’t flaws. But I found out that she used to have an OF and sell “herself” as well as use people for free food and other things.
    4. I judged the nature of the circumstance. (I don’t think I was acting out of accordance or out of line for my judgement in this regard)
    3. I started to wonder what I was doing or why someone with so much access to everyone else chose to “settle” now (Paranoia) set in
    2. I (feared) investing further into lies and omissions. I (loathed) the situation I allowed myself to remain in.
    1. I respect that silly little gut feeling more nowadays. I love my ability to walk away which is a reflection of self respect and self preservation which ultimately translates into self love for me. Am I selfish? Maybe.
    I am 6 out of the 7 red flags I suppose. Self reflection is something else. I’ll be single for a while…

    If you find a woman who you’re attracted to: check
    If you find a woman who you feel can be your best friend:check. If you find a woman that feels the same about you: check. If that woman plays u for a fool and cheats on you… kick her to the curb ( not literally, but you know what I mean) if there’s a lack of respect then there will be a lack of trust. If you’re not a healthy person then you probably shouldn’t be seeking a relationship. I’ve finally figured that out about myself.

    I checked, and I have none of those red flags. I like people (women and men), but I am a lone wolf by nature. So I interact with people, but I like to be on my own as well. I tried relationships, and they became in my eyes to controlling, jealous...After some time on my own, I realized I am just not the relationship guy. It took me some time and self-reflection. So no, it was not my ex-girlfriends fault. I actually now feel bad for them. How much did they try to change me into a tamed Wild Mustang? It had the complete opposite effect, and I know they truly cared/loved me.

    In my humble opinion, when a long relationship ends, most of us may encounter some or all of these characteristics, especially when transitioning from one affair to another. That's why it may be better to take a step back, remain single for a while, and focus on renewing your thoughts and soul to become a better version of yourself. It can be tough at the beginning, but it pays off when you no longer feel these 7 characteristics. I have filled my days by finding a better mission as a consultant, going to the gym, learning Italian, spending lots of time with my children, and traveling to Italy a couple of times. I have also been listening to many podcasts that have helped me understand how to handle relationships and women. Although I haven't reached my goal yet, I feel that I am getting closer to finding a beautiful, warm-hearted lady with whom I can start a loving and committed relationship. So my advice to you, my friends, is to work on yourselves. The reward will come.

    Certain political extremists appear to be victims of #1. If they project their #1, they can become violent and dangerous as a result of their self-loathing flowing out of them onto others as they play the blame game. #1 is the main thing they have to share and they do share it through projection.

As a man, if you don't know what makes you tick, don't have your own place or have your life in check, why would you want to dump that baggage onto your partner? My 3 decades of marriage and my relatives 50+ years of marriage tell me your uncertainty flag is dead wrong about the relationship. The purpose of being in the relationship is specifically for the certainty. If you’re going do something important like raise kids, you do so in a stable environment. You don’t get into a lifelong relationship when one or the both of you is iffy at best in your commitment and convictions. You should not have to worry about where your SO stands. This puts you in a constant state of having to prove yourself to the other. That’s stupid. Simply put: you like each other, you vet each other, you love each other, you commit to each other. When I say commit, I don’t mean you commit to meet at a venue at a certain time to finalize the contract with the gov’t family court system. Commitment means what those vows say, till death do us part, in sickeness and health, for better or worse. Us more seasoned couples find that kind of commitment makes those tough times you WILL go through bearable. We also know marriage is not about happiness. It’s about achieving things together and deriving your happiness from your efforts and your respect for each other. Disney is a fallacy and a mindset that should be avoided at all costs. If you’ve vetted properly, you won’t spend (waste) time wondering about what that other person is thinking about you. You’ll both be thinking how can I serve him/her and enrich their lives. So, when true commitment is there, uncertainty doesn’t exist and you can both move forward as a family unit. This may be a hard pill to swallow in today’s self-centered mindset. But it works. Look at it like this. You are both in a car going to a destination. One is driving, one is navigating. It doesn’t matter which since you both know the destination and are committed to getting there together. But if you both are unsure about the destination after you start out or about which route to take and you question each other’s choices along the way, what a horrible trip that will be, if you make it. What I think you really mean is uncertainty in yourself about where you want to go in life and about whether or not you think you’ll get there. It’s best to figure that out BEFORE you get into a relationship because it will build in seeds of doubt that will likely make you not reach the end together. Lastly, flexibility (from both of you) helps with most of those other red flags. The others require therapy or a more mature support system with successful marriages to pull experience from.

    (10:15-32) Yes, Anna, Yes. (11:36-39) Yeah, your 'mental' and 'emotional' well-being are very important, and Don't leave out your 'Spiritual' and 'physical' well-being. A person's mental / spiritual / emotional health can play havoc on their physical health. When I worked at a mental health facility, the majority of patients were their after failed suicide attempts, instigated by clinical depression and how they thought of themselves and their future. My job was to 1) have our clinic be a 'safe place' for them ... and 2) Inspire 'Hope' for their future (ie. Things getting better.) The question I most often asked them [when I first met them] was, "What do you think would make your life worth living? What would be different?".......... Then that helped to establish a 'Hope', and a (safe) relationship between us. Finding 'Hope' was the key.

    I think my biggest red flag is a combination of uncertainty and negative assumptions. I'm a guy in my early 30s, and I have average looks and an average income. I've always been content being single; I enjoy playing video games and being a homebody. I started using Hinge to find potential partners at the start of this year (haven't had any luck so far), and I feel like most of the women there are "too good" for me, or in other words, outside of my league.
    I've found four common attributes among women on Hinge: fine dining, travel, a love for pets, and clubbing. Such a lifestyle feels too "boojie" for me. Coupled with the fact that I have ugly teeth, I don't know how such a woman will perceive me, especially on a first date. I guess I should get off dating apps and perhaps adjust my expectations for what I want in a partner.

    • @YourWingmam
      @YourWingmam  2 месяца назад

      Swipe left on anyone who puts clubbing in their profile after the age of 20 if you're looking for something serious or long-term. There may be nothing major wrong with a 20-something at the club but she's not ready. As for teeth, the biggest thing anyone can do to improve their smile is to remove stains and yellowish discolouration. Most over-the-counter white strips do the trick. If you can get out in the real world more, your contentment with single hood will fair well for you when meeting women because you likely won't come off as needy. By the way, self-awareness and acknowledging where we need to grow without berating ourselves is a sign of maturity!
      (You're an ideal candidate for my program btw. If curious, link in show notes, if you no likey: full refund.)
