@amitj78 Respect bud! Larry Allen would no doubt be my #2! Even though it doesn't showcase his talent as an O-Lineman, his athletic ability in that tackle during the Saints game is all you need to see regarding him lol. Two all time greats!! Gl this year with Daniel Jones, looking forward to the game in NY with him! He is the future for you all.
one of the reasons I started watching football and imulating what I saw to do playing with others in the backyard... strip sack was my specialty. I love the way he would tackle... because he was always ready to swat that ball out.
Taylor, probably in the top four of dominant North American athletes of all time credits Phil Simms with turning the team around. I wish I wasn’t too young to fully appreciate his greatness while he was playing.
Phil Simms was an underrated QB. Once the Giants offense started to gel, it took pressure off the offense as well as forced teams to start throwing the ball more. Which the Giant D ate up. LT with his ears pinned back...well....you can see the videos on RUclips. You kinda felt bad for the opposing QBs(especially an immobile Jaws). I am a lifelong Jet fan and had a chance to watch nearly every Giant and Jet game in the 1980s and 1990s. I can tell you this without even a hesitation, LT was by far the greatest Defensive Player I EVER saw play the game. And, while many NFL experts give the GOAT TAG to Offensive Players such as Tom Brady, it is my opinion that LT is the overall GOAT. As Phil Sims stated as an Analyst, he has been waiting to see the "Next" Lawrence Taylor, but no one has been close. I wonder who Bill Belichek would choose? I am not a Belichek fan, especially since "faxgate", but he is probably the greatest HC of all time...then Bill Walsh...I love Belichek's interviews when he speaks of LT's greatness. I was a jealous Jets fan....now up in years, it was awesome to have had the opportunity to watch LT play...just wish it would have been in Green on Channel 4 instead of Blue on Channel 2.
His 2nd fav Yankee pitcher is probably Steve Howe. Saw him get a standing O from NY fans when he was put in a game. It was his first appearance following his 6th suspension for party drugs. Oh wait, make him 3rd. I forgot Dock Ellis was a Yankee too.
Love them all, but it's a shame their franchises didn't help them with their personal struggles, just covered or looked the other way. Especially gooden, just a teen let loose in the big city. That's corporate America for you. All about the Benjamin's.
@@KaisasDad Howe was an addict, had a disease, not a joke. The man was tormented. I felt sorry for the man. I can remember a story, I don't know how true it was, but he would have his wife chain him in the garage, so he couldn't go do drugs. Heartbreaking.

I was so.lucky to be a kid in this era. The NFL was a man's game, we had LT, Carson, Carl Banks, Leonard Marshall, Jim Burt, Bavaro, Phil Simms, Joe Morris. Plus, John Madden & Pat Summerall calling the games, it couldn't be any better, I wish I could go back to the 80s!!
I wish we could clone LT ! I miss those days. He was and is the greatest !
@Sydney Austin Your right my brother. The game has changed so much. Too many penalties. They should just let the play already.
53 years old and he was the best ive ever seen
Watching LT play was everything to a young Giants fan growing up in NYC
and how much better is your life today because of that? The LT send you money, does he help you pay your mortgage, does a check on you and make sure your healthy? Does he even give a damn about you. You through your young life away worshiping a drug addict
@@markedwards5904 Well, clearly you have a problem with Mr. Taylor (or, maybe me)! If you read my comment, I spoke about "watching" LT play football. I didn't watch him do drugs, I didn't ask him to send me money. He doesn't check on me and I don't expect him to because he doesn't know me. I still honor the man for what he did on the field. I enjoyed watching him.
As far as what I did with my young life; indeed I made mistakes and hopefully I've learned from them. When I consider your misuse of the word "through" in your comment, I have to wonder if you "threw" away grade school grammar just to become a troll. Eat-a-bag....
Greatest linebacker to ever play the game......coming from a Packers fan. Miss watching him play.
Greatest defensive player of all time.
@@ericmatterson9905and it ain’t close. There’s LT then everybody else.
Imagine walking on the field, competing against some of the best athletes in the world, and thinking, man this is easy. That was LT.
I remember his rookie year and his whole career for that matter :-)
One of the best, if not the best, defensive players of all-time!
Joe Theisman may not remember him so fondly though, but I can understand that :-)
I think the 80s and 90s was the peak of the NFL, I miss those days. Today's NFL doesn't even seem like the same game.
They gotta go back to these uniforms love them
Stiner69er i only play with these at madden haha i rly love them too!!!
Those whites look like knockoff Oilers
Stiner69er ...hated those uniforms...
He'll yeah
No way, I grew up with the Tittle-Gifford-Brown-Huff-Robustelli-Grier uniforms of THEN - and NOW.
This is a nice tribute to the greatest Giant of all. To me, the great defensive players like LT are the most exciting to watch, more so than offensive players.
Plain and simple, the GOAT.
Yep
Wrong, the G.O.A.T. has 7 super bowl rings, TB12.
Brady has the best career. But the greatest football player ever is LT
Joe Greene.
@@Count_Mephistopheles tom brady is a manufactured goat, in a rigged up nfl
It was a real pleasure watching this guy! Unforgettable memories.
Bro this is one of or the best Defense's I've ever seen growing up.man it was you can't bully us no more the 70's that was so heartbreaking.this honor of being able to watch 2 of our greatest,Great have they number retired was pure old school MR.W.MARA&MR.TISH. THEY left us Eli Manning we need to retire his number. Juan bx n.y.
Not true about Manning
@@notpreston4295 it's your opinion you can. Yes you can Eli gave me 2 super bowls. Was picked by Accorsi who was order to not sell the store..he didn't..Mr.Mara & Mr.Tish was on board then they passed away...so Eli gets his number 10.retired....Juan bx n.y.

Watching Taylor as a boy and the Giants victory in Superbowl 21. Big Giants fan to this day.let us go. Greets from Uk!
I'm a die hard Cowboys fan and LT will always be my #1 pick in any sort of all-time players list, make believe fantasy team, or anything when it comes to football. He is the greatest football player of all time.
As a Cowboys fan, i thanked God for 2 thungs that LT did...1) take out Joe Theisman 2) retire.
Brady would be crying just to see LT on the other side...
If Brady and L.T. played each other in their prime Brady would have turf toe or something to get out of playing. He'd be to scared to take the field
He wouldnt cry but it would be an interesting battle cuz brady can get it out quick.
@@willseest3732 Brady : I am quicker than Taylor
L.T. : Hold my beer
No not really
THE GREATEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF ALL TIME🐐🐐🐐
The greatest Giant ever! Ever!
These teams from the 80's and 90's would literally eat these money-soft pansy's in the NFL today. It wouldn't even be a game.
Cuz grown men was allowed to hit back then nowadays everybody so protective
No they would become pansies as well
He's a good guy in person too, met him many times because he lived close to were I did in N.J. 🍷 ty Lawrence for all you did for the giants...
I'm a Giants fan and this is a good video
one of the reasons I started watching football and imulating what I saw to do playing with others in the backyard... strip sack was my specialty. I love the way he would tackle... because he was always ready to swat that ball out.
2:36 The tackle knew it was gonna be a long night.
"This is not a game for the most well-adjusted people."

Miss this dude! He was a legend 💙🥺🤞
I am old, I don't know sports but thanks to The Blind Side film, I know about Mr. Taylor. BRAVO!
We always love offenses! But LT made us watch the defense! Watch out for '56!
LT + TB, All-Time GOATS!! 🏈🏈🐐🐐
LT and Walter Payton were the two greatest players I've seen since the early 70s
The best. Luv u man!!!
. . . and he was STONED to the BONE for this interview.
GO HAWKS!!!
I agree and I've never seen him play, highlight videos and belichick stories are all I need
This dude is hands down the GREATEST defensive player to ever play the gm and it is not even close.
Thanks for the years of memories LT! I was a young boy watching your rookie season….got to play OLB in high school and you were always my inspiration!
LT, Strawberry and Gooden was the trifecta for me as a kid in the 80's
All were dpers

Thanks for the memories!
“Being a Giant is pretty good.” - Lawrence Taylor
This was one of the best interviews I have seen in my life
I seriously felt sorry for opposing quarterbacks. He didnt hit you, he ran you over.
Too bad Brady was not one of those QBs to catch the wrath of the man called THE TERMINATOR!!!!!
too bad joe montana dusted him off 4 times and he didnt get more than 2 rings 🤣🤣🤣🤣

A once in a generation gifted athlete and ferocious competitor who rose to the top of the game. You don't see them made like that anymore. Wow.
The era when football was FOOTBALL ! I understand todays game is watered down, and those protections are in place to protect those assets of today , but man LT and those like him MADE Gridiron the gladiatorial spectacle we all loved to watch , the mould was set and broken at the same time .... throw back NO just smash mouth , hard hitting battle ! Thank you LT .
hell yea, always nice too know he wore blue, go gmen
Almost a Cowboy. Dallas wanted to trade up but the Saints who had the number one pick (Giants had the 2nd overall pick) said no because they wanted George Rogers. Whew 😖
Utter respect for LT from a die hard long time REDSKINS fan
My favorite player ever to play in the NFL I have his rookie card autograph
Wayne Dam how much I’ll pay
It was 125 dollers at this football nfl shop in new york new hartford mall
How much is it worth
i will do bad things for that
I was 12 the first time I saw LT. It was the end of that Detroit game. Was a baseball guy at the time. I will never forget watching that interception and the sliding spike. He was a one man wrecking crew in that game. Watching him play made me love football.
I remember as a kid maybe 4/5 years old my dad and uncles took me to see him play wow awesome thats when i feel in love with football and became a Giants fan and he is from my hometown and state
He needs a full documentary!
It was hilarious when he slid into the end zone around 5:30. What a message to send to the QBs.
God I love football history.. it was crazy to see bill belichick coaching the linebackers.. and it’s crazy to think that bill was going up against the best teams back then like joe Montana! And beating them too... bill belichick is an absolute sports legend.
Parcells, Coughlin, Crennel, the whole coaching staff was great, not just Belichick.
What did Belichick do in Cleveland? Trash.
What has Belichick done in New England without Brady? Trash.
Lawrence Taylor changed football we are lucky to have gotten to see him play you can't explain to this generation how dominant and important he has been to football you had to see it to believe it👍👍👍
