This is the best instructional video I’ve ever seen for edge painting
Really nice production, Will. This should help a lot of crafters. Hi to Cambridge, such a beautiful town.
Hi, Will 😁 thank you for making this video. I've worked with leather for a few years now, and I never got my edges quite right 😅 I've watched so many videos on RUclips. I love how you walked us through everything and explained things step by step :) you also have a lovely, calming voice. You've been if great help, friend! I'll be sure to save your video😊
Beautiful work; thank you ❤️
Thank you, Will. You do such a great job detailing the processes in your video.
Well done my friend. Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much for this video. Thank you!
Thanks for the video!
No problem at all, if there’s any other guides you’d like to see than please let me know, and don’t forget to subscribe:D
Thank you for tutorial.
You’re very welcome, please don’t forget to subscribe
Hi Will, wich is the Edge paint that you use? Brand, colors availeble and where to buy. Thanks
Thank you! You explained it very well. Would a soldering iron also work, instead of the fileteuse (I don't know the spelling.)?
The result is perfect brother.but it takes too much time and efford.greetings from Turkiye
Any chance you could give an actual temperature from a non contact heat meter of what 5 1/2 on your creasing tool relates to?
Thankyou for the video.Could you tell me where you purchased your edge roller from?Thankyou
Hey Will! Hope all is well, question: where can I find fenice edge paint in the uk? Or can you recommend where to get it?
Thanks Will, I got to get that heat thingy then. My edge painting looks horrible.
If you’re in the US RMleather supply sell the same brand as mine
Thanks Will for a great video. May I ask where you bought the holder to stand your edges for drying please?
You’re totally welcome, I got the paint drying rack from here www.proatelierplus.com
@@WillHodges Thanks so much
Nice! How durable is the finish?
Found it!
thanks for this... I don't have a heating iron. I do have a creaser that i heat up with a torch to do my creasing. Can the heating process be done with that as well?
You’re most welcome, it can indeed. Make sure you’re subscribed as I’ve got a video going live tomorrow that includes a demonstration of how to do it with a manual creaser and a torch
@@WillHodges I will subscribe for sure. Thank you.
Which sandpaper do you use?
Oooh, so it is totally necessary to use heat on the edge? I always thought I would only need to add tragacanth, sand it down and repeat and lastly use dye and wipe it clean.
Nope, there’s several ways of doing it, if not using heat you can simply sand between layers and get a similar result. So you’re doing the method without heat
What is the heated tool or creaser?
Which edge paint do you use, I live in turkey i have tried several edge paint which is available here , but they didn’t work out. I am a beginner, really hope you suggestion.
Hi, I use Uniters edge paint. Feel free to email me and I can help you buy some
What iron is that you’re using?
Can you tell me how to make this black ink😅
how long do you let the paint dry? I always struggle with this.. it looks dry but when i touch it theres like a skin that i now wrinkled and it wont sand away. it turns into a little booger that you have to rip off :(
Totally depends on the air temp and the brand of paint. Try using a small space heater or putting your item near a radiator
Where did you buy your edge creaser??
Hi, I purchased it directly from Regad. If you send me an email I’ll give you the contact details, and don’t forget to sub 😄
How much is 5,5 heat im Farenheit/Celsius?
I’m not sure, sorry
What temperature do you use?
For the final polish I use my machine at number 5 and if I need to smooth the edge after the first coat I use it on 7
@@WillHodges Do you know what that translates to in degrees (F or C?)? Thanks!
I wish I could afford to buy a Regad machine....I'll just need to spend hours doing it by hand...my least favorite jobs I gotta say!
