We did the same with pistols and holsters in the 60's

We were instructed to take a shower with our Leather Jump boots on laced up and let them get nice and wet with warm water then get out of the shower and keep them on for an hour after you get out. Then take them off and hang them on the top of your doors upside down and let them hang like that until morning. The next day the boots are custom fitted for you.
