I don't often make comments but after watching your many of your videos I just have to. I love your style of teaching, so easy to understand, well explained! I also love your humor. I am currently setting up my shop and when it's done I am looking forward to purchasing your video courses. I'm just starting out in leather craft and I found it very overwhelming tying to understand types of leather, tools and techniques. Watching your videos has helped me immensely. I am very grateful for you taking the time to make videos, THANK you so much.
Thank you for taking the time to share this Robert. I'm so glad you're finding the content valuable and I look forward to welcoming you to the Masterclass when you're ready 👍
There's a similar technique in clothes sewing called "Hong Kong finished". And "French Seam" is another completely technique. And another similar one is"Flat Felled Seam". Going in to leatherwork after several years of sewing was such a fun experience, it's not like going blind. I did transfer several sewing method in leatherwork and it's worked out great, would recommend checking out those techniques.
I’m super new to leather work, and am learning how to make shoes- do you think this would be a good technique to use when attaching the upper to the lining?
Great demonstration, by an observer in Australia, particularly as relief from consideration of recent events. I like your style of presentation, both commentary and material work. Also interesting to read other comments. The comment by #silvermeasuringspoons6462, about one year ago, regarding the transfer of skills and techniques from sewing, I found interesting.
I know this is an old video.. but how would you go about wrapping it around and doing the same seam on the other side? Seems like it would be tough to get the tension correct
Awesome Tutorial again!
Glad you liked it :)

I have seen this in shoes, I own a pair. But I'm afraid you'd need to ask a shoemaker to get the best answer.

Thank you Peter. I appreciate your comment.
I learned this technique when I was in Paris 😊...
Well done!👏🏼
So cool!
Very cool thank you
Glad you liked it Dwight 👍
Do you have any video for wrap stitch, shown at time 16:24 of this video?
Yes, it's available as a part of a video Plan membership. leathercraftmasterclass.com/plans-pricing
Thanks a lot for sharing this video 👏👏👍
You're welcome Nsreen. I'm glad you find it useful 👍
4:55 I'd like to buy that contact adhesive. Which one exactly is it?
UHU general purpose. Comes in a tube, I put mine in a precision applicator
@@LeathercraftMasterclass thanks! 👍
Great tutorial! What's the watch you're wearing? I'm kind of a watch nerd (who makes leather watch straps).
Thanks! It's a Pulsar VX42-0AB0.

You wouldn't. You will need two separate French bindings that overlap in the middle with a separate seam of it's own.
I so desire to tale your lessons, I will afford the lessons very soon. I just find it easy to understand you more than anyone else
Thank you Horrell. I look forward to welcoming you to the Masterclass when you're ready.
Great video Philip.
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get that fantastic leather rougher?
It's the NT Cutter sanding plate from Axminster Tools (UK) 👍
How about a close up on your hands so we can see what you are doing?
For close-up shots, the video course 'Techniques Of Hand Stitching: Advanced Skills' shows this.
closer video please....for details .thanks😐
Ok next time
HOW ABOUT IF YOU POSITION THE CAMERA AT 45 DEGREES TO YOUR TABLE, SO AS WE CAN ACTUALLY SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
It's a simple demonstration for a new Pattern Project available on my website, which shows more detail. I say this at the end of the video.
Nice. Thank you.
Most welcome
