Gimpo used to be the main airport of Seoul until they built incheon. South Korea realized that gimpo wasn’t big enough to handle the traffic coming through so they built the state of the art modern airport in incheon on an island. Also sitting on the upper deck on a 747 is awesome! I sat upper deck once on a 747 business class back in the mid 90’s when I was like 5. Me my sister and my dad flew to The USA to visit mom who was studying abroad at USC (Southern California not South Carolina sorry Jeb). Back then even coach would have been business class for me at that age as far as the seat goes.
Great video Jeb. Thank you for introducing me to not so well known locations. I had never heard of Jeju until today. Thanks for making educational and entertaining videos.
wonderful vid sir - when you climb those stairs, pop out on the 2nd floor and are personally escorted to your seat - priceless... That roll and take off was pretty darn spectacular too.
I’d love to fly on a 747 once because I never had the chance and maybe I dont even have that chance anymore because every year more and more airliners retire their 747’s 😞😕
OGFortnitePlayer if you want to fly a 747 400 I know BA and Virgin Atlantic still fly them. I flew economy on the upper deck of a VA 747 and it has been my favorite flight ever. if you just want to fly a 747 in general many carriers have 747-8s now but I would highly recommend flying the original queen of the skies before they are all retired. Also I’m sure Jeb would recommend a visit to the Delta museum to tour a 747-400
John Cale has a suggestion : Pack yourself in a parcel with water for hydration, empty bottle for urination and holes for breathing and fly on a cargolux 747's ! But don't disguise the carton as a gift, it can end badly (as told in VU's white light white heat) !!!
I flew from Seoul to Jedu on C130 in 1979 to go to the army adventure Camp. We repelled down a 300 ft cliff and pulled ourselves across a rope bridge about 100 yards over an ocean choice. Only time I've seen it snow on the beach.
I have only flown on the 747 a couple of times and that was back when I was young in the 70's. Remember wanting to know what strange world lurked "up the stairs"
I had never heard of Jeju before, but after watching this video it is on my bucket list of places to see. Jeb, do you think Korean Air is making money on this route? A short hop and they are using widebody aircraft? U.S. airlines would be using a CRJ!
I am not sure but i think, papa used this phrase once while explaining something - Hold your Horses. Its so long back that i truly cant remember whether this is a figment of my imagination. But Yogesh bought for me from Chor Bazar (Antique Bazar) horse figurine 2012 or 2013 which is in my bedroom.
Great video! Know exactly what you mean, Ive always dreamt about traveling upstairs on a 747 (although I was up there , I once stuck upstairs for a min when I was a kid:) )
Not all of them are, most of the planes are smaller. Several domestic airlines fly this route. A plane leaves for Jeju about every 15 minutes. Mostly smaller planes. It’s a tourist spot. Korean honeymooners, climbing the mountain, lots of lush hotels, beautiful ocean views, museums of every kind, a famous hiking trail, etc.
Skyteam has got to be my favorite alliance.I have a great status with all skyteam airlines. My best status is with KLM,but I have a good status with aeromexico and Delta.
SkyTeam is definitely the best... Star Alliance has United (budget airline for people not on a budget), OneWorld isn't bad, but SkyTeam has Delta, and Delta is the best American airline in my opinion.
Judging an alliance by its American member is like judging a school class by its slowest student. In other words, not fair and meaningless for all intents and purposes
I know it's sounds strange, but it's really an experience flying domestic in Korea. If you ever get the chance try flying the Air Busan service between Gimpo and Busan, try it! Even if it's an "economy" airline it's still the best domestic flight I've done so far.
Just curious, why is an 180 mile route the busiest route in the world when that's a very doable 3-4 hr drive/bus ride and high speed rail is probably just as fast as flying?
How many minutes was the flight, I lived in Japan for 17 years and you could fly anywhere in the country in 1-2 hours, so korea couldn't be that different? Also, I was quite surprised at how many Russians were flying through Gimpo when I was in Korea.
Korean flies into DFW everyday usually on either a Dreamliner or a 777. I’m not a fan of the livery, the baby blue almost looks, idk, old? Like it was painted 20 years ago and faded in the sun.
t the risk of starting a new Air War, I must say that we Australians have always been told that the Sydney - Me;bourne route is the busiest - or is it just the most congested??
Don't know what the point of using long range aircraft such as the 777 and 747 for such a short distance is. I frankly don't see how it could possibly be more efficient or cost effective.
Because it's a high density route. If you don't fly 150 flights using high capacity planes, you will have to fly 500 flights using regional jets. And Seoul just doesn't have the takeoff/landing slots for that.
Glad you liked the product. RUclipsr Nonstop Dan was not as impressed as you were, especially as the only in-flight service, the beverage , was served in a paper cup. Then again different passengers have different expectations especially if they're spending a lot of cash or miles.
I fly them weekly last 3 years over Asiana and many expats on 777s (Australians) and 3739s US Cargo/ex Delta retirees now as shortage of senior captains. They do autoland excessively and same with OZ which can cause issues like in SFO crash. Anyhow they are a quality airline , rarely upgrade in F so you will never have more than 2pax in my experience. Always upgrade to F on J ticket out of DLC and skyteam elites always treated as VIPs .Like all airlines have their Frist world issues like putting Y pax upstairs on CTS flights and J pax downstairs even though it is empty but not as exclusive. Seem they like to please westerners and leave seat next to you space if no westerners and after 35 flights in a row in J never sit near anyone. I do dress and smell ok lol Best wishes
Blarg saying "seven seventy seven" isn't really a correct name. Im not judging, im just letting him know. Also, have you ever seen a pilot or a boeing employee say "seven seventy seven?" I have never. I have no idea why ur so offended by this
I'm not offended, it's just stupid you're throwing a fit about it. We all know what he means. There is no reason to complain and try to correct him on a non-existent issue.
Arab Noura because no one calls it that. They’ll almost always say “Triple 7” and sometimes they’ll say “Seven Seven Seven”. Even Boeing themselves do this.
18th November, 2019 - This seems like a channel with promise! This young man will go far!
2021 and he is one of the most successful flight reviewers ever
Korean air is cool. Back in 2016 I flew Korean air economy class on a 777-300er from Chicago to Inchon. Beautiful plane. Thanks for uploading

I used to love on Jeju! Thanks for bringing me back! This was a very nostalgic video!
Great video Jeb. Thank you for introducing me to not so well known locations. I had never heard of Jeju until today. Thanks for making educational and entertaining videos.

Great video as always, next time i fly with Lufthansa and they have a delay of a couple of minutes i want an first class upgrade as well! ;)
I flew the exact same plane from Bangkok to Seoul 2 days after you uploaded!
I've seen the Korean Air plane before, I was huge and beautiful. Hopefully some day I could go on it too.
Korean Air has really good orange juice and I want to know where I can get more
Star alliance all the way! Also great music for this video.
Got to see one of these beauties land and taxi to the gate yesterday in Atlanta. Never saw a 747 in person before, such a beautiful aircraft.
Great choice in music. Love the sound of those 777 engines on takeoff. Rewound several times to hear them. What types of engines are they?
777-200 uses Pratt & Whitney and the 777-300 uses General Electric GE90's
I’d love to fly on a 747 once because I never had the chance and maybe I dont even have that chance anymore because every year more and more airliners retire their 747’s 😞😕

Adam Aurioles okay, thanks for the information!

Bad news mate
Thanks for traveling my home country and I hope you had great time in Jeju Island. I am missing that place from California always.
Ahhh, the motherland...Glad you enjoyed your trip!
I flew from Seoul to Jedu on C130 in 1979 to go to the army adventure Camp. We repelled down a 300 ft cliff and pulled ourselves across a rope bridge about 100 yards over an ocean choice. Only time I've seen it snow on the beach.

And now HL7460 is stored up in Oscoda along with HL7402 used for spare parts for Kalitta. I saw them both last month up in Oscoda, MI
Can we take a moment to appreciate how good Jeb Looks in the intro
Loved the music!!!💜👏👏👏
I had never heard of Jeju before, but after watching this video it is on my bucket list of places to see. Jeb, do you think Korean Air is making money on this route? A short hop and they are using widebody aircraft? U.S. airlines would be using a CRJ!
I can see my old home town down near gimpo LOL
Great watching your videos always, however love the background music. Please if you could share the name of it. Thanks and see you in the sky :)
Fantastic music that went along with this video's. What are the names and artists of the songs?
great video! Thanks for sharing, Would love to see more of your travels!
What are those watchtower-like structures all around the Jeju airport perimeter?
Jeb good video, but music is overpowering and not leveled with the voice over. I constantly have to lover the volume when music segment starts.
2:04 sorry jeb, I am more of a star alliance guy, but after a wonderful domestic flight with delta from EWR - SAN I am starting to reconsider.
2:06 sky team too
I love SkyTeam
6:08 no winglets on 737 ng?????????
I believe it this Plane, I guess some of the early models did not have winglets. www.planephotos.net/photo/4013/Korean-Air_Boeing-737-900_HL7569/
Yep! There's a lot of them in Asia
Cuz its the old 737 type
737-900 don’t have winglets, only the 737-900ER
planes spotter and railfanner it is called wingtips and that must be an older 737
Great video! Know exactly what you mean, Ive always dreamt about traveling upstairs on a 747 (although I was up there , I once stuck upstairs for a min when I was a kid:) )
Why do they use such big planes on this route?
cuz a lot of people go? lol

It’s a tourist spot. Korean honeymooners, climbing the mountain, lots of lush hotels, beautiful ocean views, museums of every kind, a famous hiking trail, etc.
Why does Korean Air use such a big plane to go such a short distance? I love the background music!!
More then 30 thousand people a day fly between these to cities, A. DAY.
Why though?
Love going to Jeju!
Can’t name one, only been on southwest.I wish I could fly on a different airline but my parents won’t budge.
Southwest is nice! Very friendly staff.
Nice video as always buddy! What is there so special about the island to have so many flights in and out?
Skyteam has got to be my favorite alliance.I have a great status with all skyteam airlines. My best status is with KLM,but I have a good status with aeromexico and Delta.
Star Alliance has *basically all* of the world's top-rated airlines, though.
Great video as always! Jeb! Hope one you fly with Emirates airlines and do the same vlog!
I love an upgrade !
I love an upgrade !
SkyTeam is definitely the best... Star Alliance has United (budget airline for people not on a budget), OneWorld isn't bad, but SkyTeam has Delta, and Delta is the best American airline in my opinion.
Of course Delta is the best, it got it's big international boost feeding off the Pan Am carcass
Someone posted below they didn’t like the soundtrack, whereas I wanted to make a comment about really enjoying the soundtrack!
Same it sounds amazing
Skyteam is my favorite because Delta airlines is my favorite airline
One world is my favorite because I have 2.7 million miles on American Airlines
Seoul is one densely populated city wow!!
Just curious, why is an 180 mile route the busiest route in the world when that's a very doable 3-4 hr drive/bus ride and high speed rail is probably just as fast as flying?
Because jeju is a island.
No train nor road. Only planes and ships.
Jeju is a popular tourist destination plus its an island unlike the other cities in Korea where you can take the train.
Gotta go with one world just because I love and fly American Airlines so much
Lovely Music
How many minutes was the flight, I lived in Japan for 17 years and you could fly anywhere in the country in 1-2 hours, so korea couldn't be that different?

Subject/verb agreement, 'What I'm excited about are those stairs What Im excited about IS those stairs,...
Is it ok to fly with corona virus?
This video was made way b4 the NCP🤣🤣🤣
Love Skyteam also my favorite alliance.
Dont yall think the seats are a little outdated?
Good stuff!
Just one question, how the hell you afford all those flights on business ?
I love flying
Korean flies into DFW everyday usually on either a Dreamliner or a 777. I’m not a fan of the livery, the baby blue almost looks, idk, old? Like it was painted 20 years ago and faded in the sun.
t the risk of starting a new Air War, I must say that we Australians have always been told that the Sydney - Me;bourne route is the busiest - or is it just the most congested??
bushyconn MEL - SYD is second by flights
Mel to sydney route is not even top 5 and not even close to it
Gimpo to jeju has about 130+ flights per day
Sydney-Melbourne is the world's second busiest flight route with 54,000+ flights a year.
Seoul-Jeju is the busiest with 64,000+ flights a year.
bushyconn lol i always thought it was JFK-LHR
2:04 they are very proud to be a skyteam member
Sorry if wrong just my opinion
Price?
You never said how long the flight took
About an hour, maybe a bit less
How short is the flight?
About an hour

@@tally1604 I understand that, yet in this video the planes seemed underpopulated for that purpose.
Not all the planes are that large. Most of the flights to Jeju are small planes. They leave Gimpo every 15 minutes all day long
Good vlog man! Very nicely done!
Do you ever fly economy? If so, please show my some love.
Can someone tell me why this is the busiest route?
Jeb Brooks Thanks man. Your videos are great. Keep it up.
i had a 747-400 flight between Jordan to Iraq, really short, and i got to have a first class seat.
No food?
Loved it.
hey new sub here, why do you say this is the busiest air route in the world? i don’t get it haha.
Glad you liked the product. RUclipsr Nonstop Dan was not as impressed as you were, especially as the only in-flight service, the beverage , was served in a paper cup. Then again different passengers have different expectations especially if they're spending a lot of cash or miles.
My favourite alliance definitely has to be Star Alliance.
Does juju get their own gate
No, too many flights.
British airways is my favrouit airline
Korean Air? Your a brave man indeed.
why do ya say that
Blackwolf [SKUX] because he doesn't know what he is talking about
Korean Air has a horrible safety record. I've seen videos. He's probably seen them as well.
@@avtweet3269 it was 90's and now we're in almost 20's
Judging that you can't even spell "you're", you seem very ignorant on many issues, including this one
LOL, you look so young in this video, I was upstairs once, didn't really care for it,
Wow
I want to do that!

Sky team
LOL a 7 minute DELAY
Transportation is very prompt in Korea. Everywhere.
One world.
1 hour flight
Still flies Business Class.
no meal in first class no champagne
The flight is less than an hour, no time for a meal
Pls never say "seven seventy seven". Its triple 7 or 7 7 7. Please. Please. Please
well he corrected himself and said triple seven so....
Don’t say 7 7 7 ether just say triple seven
why judge? we all know what he means. And he's not wrong. It's a 777, not James Bond. and every other plane in the 7X7 series is said that way anyway.
Blarg saying "seven seventy seven" isn't really a correct name. Im not judging, im just letting him know. Also, have you ever seen a pilot or a boeing employee say "seven seventy seven?" I have never. I have no idea why ur so offended by this
