    Today I’m flying the world's longest Boeing 747 flight in First Class from Seoul all the way to Atlanta USA. With a retail cost of over $8000, in my review I’ll show you exactly what the experience is like. From the lounge offered at the airport, to the onboard experience including the bed, food service and what exactly is upstairs on the Boeing 747? This is an ultra long haul flight, and is actually the world's longest 747 flight at over 15 hours in the sky! As usual I paid in full myself for this flight, full costings are shown in the video.

    I`m just glad that there are still 747`s in service...
    I emigrated from the UK to South Africa in 1983 and the SAA 747 "Tafelburg" took us there in absolute comfort...I was 6 years old and my mind was blown that we got served steak for breakfast (in Economy Class..)...oddly enough, in 2007 at my bothers bachelors we went to a pub in Johannesburg, near the airport and owned by a few pilots and they had the cockpit of a 747 mounted into a wall, it turned out to be the cockpit from SAA "Tafelburg"...

    I flew on the same route in their business class a while ago. I was seated in seat 3A on the upper deck. The apex suite was beyond comfortable compared to standard business class beds. The storage room on the upper deck was insane. The business lounge was almost empty when I went there. Both the food selection in the plane and in the lounge were great. And all that for a lot cheaper, tbh I think first is not worth it. You should do a review of their business class sometimes.

    • @mteagleworld
      @mteagleworld 6 месяцев назад +1

      the best part of the apex suites is that the bed is long enough for me and that I don't have to cram my foot into a small box shaped footwell. There's a bit of lack of storage but I do get better sleep on the apex suites.

    About the 2 wheels vs 4 wheels. I still personally much prefer 4 wheels. Easier in general, although I do agree that on some surfaces, 4 wheels can be a challenge, but since (with 2 wheels) you'd tip the luggage forward versus rolling it, you can do the same with a 4 wheeled bag, but you just have the option of the other two wheels for flat surfaces (and I'll say if you have a lot of walking to do on flat surface, not having to pull your luggage, but rather just pushing it with 4 wheels on the ground, is much easier and less tiresome).
    I would say that for most Asian cultures, veggies (so salad), rice and meats are most of he cuisuine you will find, aside from sweets and other dessert type items, so it's not that surprising that they serve a bunch of salad on a long haul flight from Asia. I mean a lot of Asian meals (not single dishes) generally include some type of vegetable in most cases (not all).

    Ohh I miss that plane. I was fortunate enough to board one of Korean Air's mythical 747 in 2020 (KUL-ICN) and it was my very first 747 experience. Though only in economy seating, it was a dream to be sat in such an iconic airplane. Ever since then, it has been only the 787-9 Dreamliner running this route.

    I watch these amazing videos of First Class air travel and think back to 1983 when I treated myself and flew First Class on Lufthansa from Nairobi to Frankfurt. I was so looking forward to it.
    In Nairobi, CheckI in was like a cattle market. Walking onto the plane I turned left and found my seat. Yes, it was a wide seat with a flip out foot-rest when you reclined the seat. I was offered a drink and a little bowl of nuts. I had been perusing the menu which looked delicious. It was a late evening flight and I hadn’t eaten purposely so as to enjoy the in flight cuisine. I was starving. Shortly after take off, the captain said Goodnight over the intercom …. and turned off the lights. The flight had come from The Seychelles to Nairobi and onward to Frankfurt. Dinner was served on the first leg of the flight! So, all I had was a pot of yoghurt and scrambled eggs for breakfast before landing.
    This was my first and only experience in First Class. Do you think it’s too late to pass my concerns on to Lufthansa? 😀
