Inside Korean Air - Painting a 747 + Airplane Food

- This week, I took a flight to Busan, South Korea and visited the Korean Air Aerospace tech center to see how they paint a Korean Air B747-8. Korean Air is the only airline that manufactures Boeing and Airbus parts. I discovered behind the scenes how the B787 wingtip, tail cone, flap support fairing and A320 sharklet are made there.
Then, I visited the Korean Air catering center to see how they prepare airplane food. I was shown the popular traditional Korean Bibimbap and Mukbap dish.

I did receive that kind of messages couple of times 😢
I had no idea Korea plays such a big role in the aviation industry,I feel they are underrated yet one of the best
Was surprised to see that too.
korea is almost like america
@@user-gj6zm3iz1c how? in terms of what?

Go Korean Air! I was once waiting for a flight at Charles De Gaulle, and a group of Korean Air flight attendants passed by. Everyone was stunned. They were immaculate.
I work for American Airlines and its really cool to see how Korean Air builds parts.
KoreanAir is amazing!!!
I‘ve heard that South Korean airport and aircraft security have very strong as it confronts North Korea. That’s why Korean airliners don't show their inside well, but it was an excellent decision to show every corner of Korean Air through collaboration with Sam. I had no idea Korean Air is producing many parts for Boeing and Airbus, and I could know they are not just passenger airliners, but a huge expert group in the aviation industry. Thank you Sam!
Many people think of Korean Air as an airline, but they develop weapons not only as an airline but also as an R&D and a defense company
Thank you Sam for introducing the various of works at Korean Air!
As a Korean, this episode was very meaningful and much focused! I hope the video of taking the first Korean Air's Airbus narrow-body the A321neo and the KAL's first wide-body business jet, 787-8, registered HL8508.
Actually, the 787-8 was the one of the terrible teens of 787, the N507BJ!
From my personal experience, the best meals served by Korean Air are usually on the cargo flights. It’s their way of showing their appreciation to the pilots enduring hours without any cabin services. I spent 3 wonderful years with them and it was one of the best time of my life.
It’s great to see a company and it’s people take such care & pride in their work. Congrats to Korean Air & their dedicated crew.
I remember being told that Korean Air was also involved with manufacturing wingtips for the Boeing 747 as far back as 1986. But I don't know if these were for the 747-400. And I'm sure that they have been involved making other parts during the production of the Boeing 747-400 but I can't remember what else they made.
It's really significant that Korean Air is the worlds only airline that also makes major aircraft parts as a supplier to both Airbus and Boeing. I have been working in aircraft maintenance for the last 35 years and Components made by Korean Air have always been highly regarded by our staff for being very well made. Nice to see inside the manufacturing facility.
I love that Sam does not just do flight reports but also behind the scenes. I wish Sam could do stuff like this where he does different videos about the same airline like he did with Korean air.
he has done this with KLM, Turkish Airline and a few more.
However I can imagine that it's a lot of paperwork to be allowed that far behind the lines.
Smart to quickly transition to a new need.
From passengers
To cargo.
Which ever is greater to stay in business... which also keeps the people working....
Great work Korean Air 👏
Wow very interesting to hear Korea Air builds parts for Boeing aircraft I've never heard that before
Great video. Korean Air has long been my preferred carrier between Asia and USA. Their service and attention to detail are impeccable and the Incheon airport is fantastic!
Love how Korean air takes extra effort on being sanitary with prepping food. This is one major reason our family flies on Korean air.
대한항공 부산테크센터에 다녀오셨군요.. 대한항공과 에어버스의 관계는 A300 부터 시작이됩니다.
I live in Seoul. The Seoul Bus Terminal looks like an airport...
The Incheon airport looks like a space port.
@SamChui, Korean Air was the first ever airline I flew from Vladivostok to Seoul then onto New York City to begin my life in the United States in 2000 at the time. Korean Air is part of my heart.
I never knew Korean air made parts, very cool
It was so awesome to see the Preighter. I did not know that it even existed. Thanks Sam and Korean Air.
I didn't know that Korean AIr built aircraft parts for Airbus and Boeing.
I like the 747 Korean Air Cargo, for several years it was a weekly regular at BSL (and the only regular 747).
I love korean air. I always fly with them when I go to the Philippines!!
Thanks Sam for showing us the inner workings of Korean Air!!!
Wow, nice! Love that Korean hospitality and politeness! My favorite too! Even though I've never been on one..🙁
I worked KAL Tech Center 10years ago as painter. I still missing that time!!!~~~ Great video, Thanks to makes me remember.... and 747-400 take 10.5 days exactly....
Korean Air cabin service and flight attendants are gorgeous ❤
Great behind the scenes look at operations at Korean Air!
Thanks a lot for showing inside of my country's Flag carrier, Korean Air!!
Wow, I think most of the Korean Air employees are fluent in foreign languages and very smart.. I think they have a lot of talent
06:55 Haha I love this part as I recognize it when in Asia. South-Korean people are really polite and gentle with a good mindset and mentality although. Hope I will visit South-Korea soon again.
Great 'behind the scenes ' insights that keeps an Airline in business.
KAL is number in one thing, always. Their Flight attendants. they are all so beautiful!
Best Airline company in Asia 💯💯💯No doubt
Korean Air is one of my favourites, hopefully fly with them again soon. Great video. Cheers
Thank you for showing us these unique, behind the scenes perspectives.
Sam you're a pioneer in aviation review video. Your concert and content is amazing. You're truly the Best!
Oh man! I feel like I'm right behind the cameraman! Thanks to Sam and all KA crews for this awesome documentary!
korean air’s meals looks like the most healthiest meals out of all airline foods i’ve seen 😋
Very interesting to see behind the scenes of an international airline. Thank you very much!
Love the behind the scenes look.
Thanks.
Never knew that some plane parts are made in South Korea thanks for that Sam very good job 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️
I'm a big fan of the carrier. thanks for such a pleasing fan video!

I would love to visit S. Korea, the people are meant to be really friendly & welcoming to foreigners.
Sams video’s almost look like a tv show he’s a legend❤❤
This is pretty cool vlog, showing different back of the house scenes. Well done.
This is why I love planes bc of YOU
I am very impressed by the cleanliness of the employees at the kitchen.
Flying to Rickenbacker Airport, the old ONG AIR BASE. Back in my hometown! Funny Hooters Airline was using this airport for they flights out of Columbus way back in the day.
Like you Sam, I love the 747. Worked on them for Northwest Airlines back in the early 90s.
I used to work at the Gimhae international airport as a quarantine staff until pretty recent day. I wonder if I could have met you if I quit the work more lately...:( Whenever I go to the staff's restaurant, I could easily see KAL tech center worker and this video reminds me of that time. I hope you have a grat time in Korea, especially in Busan!
Valentina is very professional and smart also beautiful 😊
In the desperate situation of covid, from 2020, that airline took off the economy class seat of the plane that was idle and started carrying cargo like that. A huge loss was expected because of covid, but at the end of the effort to survive even that way, it is said that the company made a lot of profits.
happy to see korean air manufature departments in sam chois channel
Morning Sam, once more time another great PRODUCTION for your costumers.

Korean Air has always wanted to play a vital role in aviation manufacturing, and they also participate in the defense industry as well. And that's why they need better leadership to guide the company thru complex business environment.
Its would be cool to see more interviews with Asian Pilots!
the thing I love the most about Korean Air livery, is the confidence.
Am so sick and tired of the constant radical style swapping from other airlines, meanwhile Korean Air is:
_We have bigger fish to fry and know brand recognition isnt a tree to shake. I'm good, thanks._
I wish I could something like this at my local airport if Dulles. It would be so cool to have a day to just explore and see how everything operates on the ground.
Wow thanks for sharing behind the scenes a lot of us will never have the opportunity to see in person what an excellent video
what a great korean air
Flying on Korean in March ❤ can’t wait!!
When Sam said;
11:13 "We are not flying....aaagghh"
.... ouw Sam, don't be naughty🤣🤣🤣
Preighter. Yah, that was a great idea. Invented and implemented at Korean Air first.
Kept cargo moving. And more importantly, helped people keep their jobs.

부산에 오신 것을 환영합니다! 왕 팬이예요^^
Anda luar biasa Mr. Sam setiap kedatangan anda selalu disambut dan full support dari semua pihak, anda adalah youtuber sejati dan menjadi idola hampir semua negara, sukses selalu mr. Sam
Seeing the pride of those workers and the love they put into their product. That’s whats gonna happen when you let the engineers and aviation pros decide instead of the MBAs. Boeing take lesson.
I love these type of videos thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed watching !! ^^
I have to be honest and say that I was a Sam Chui hater (along with many other av geeks here on yt) because of his highly orchestrated, super awkward review that were plaguing his channel over the past few years. However, it does seem that Sam was able to pivot from this and change his channel from one that was focused solely on review to one which provides behind the scenes content from all the airlines we all love. This was very smart and I do have to admit that I am once again a Sam Chui lover. Thank you for the wonderful content.
Did anyone else notice that he made fun of her saying "sharklet"? Like keep it to yourself, that was so rude...smh
Thank you Sam for this informative and amazing video. Was not hungry had a great breakfast Lol
Thank Sam chui sir for good information
Fascinating
