islam’s striking is actually insane, he outstruck DP at certain times in the fight, dustin’s takedown defence was also really impressive, an exciting fight from start to finish and it really saved the card.
People getting surprised that Islam did so well on the feet against Dustin are not getting the fact that when a striker fights a grappler, he has to be incredibly calculated with his every shot, which limits his striking massively, We have seen this time and again where brilliant strikers and grapplers are competitive on the feet.
That's reductive. Islam is also a great striker. Probably the most well rounded fighter there is currently. People should be as worried to make a mistake on the feet as they would on the ground.
