This was from a Russian interview and I think it was misquoted. He did not mean literally the bones will break like what happened to Conor. The best example to explain this is that, Khabib said, "I won against Justin mentally first." Once the mind/mental breaks, the physical/body follows.

To an athiest the equivalent will be to say 'always think you are/were lucky'. Both will keep you motivated and not rest on any laurels.

I think he was glad how easy for Islam to cut weight. weight cutting is pretty hard on every fighters. Islam even said that he was happy Khabib is retired because watching Khabib going through his weight cutting really stressed him out emotionally.
