Though, if I may say, I often find Dennis Bunnik to be a bit more... complainy. Jeb is so reliably positive, even when something minor goes wrong (like the seat controls in this video).
EDIT TO ADD: I like Dennis too, don't get me wrong. I just enjoy Jeb's positivity a lot. Even when Jeb is not pleased with something, he never comes across like an unpleasant or over-entitled high maintenance customer, which is what many reviewers seem to thin their role is.
And frankly, Dennis Bunnik isn't so bad, I actually think I was thinking of Sanspotter.

I flew this product from Geneva to La last winter when Americans were banned from travelling to France (we drove across to Nice). Everything was so over the top but I feel the one thing that the dull service and underwhelming food didn't make my experience as good as it should have been. Another special memory was the pilot allowed me to sit in for landing!!. I would not pay $12,000 for a ticket on it again, it was once in a lifetime. You brought me back in time Jeb!

@@Greatanotherchannel I understand the airline is near bankruptcy and has recieved little to no funding from the Dutch/French governments (Only 1.3 billion) and had no cash coming into the pandemic. Like lufthansa they are unionizing a lot of their staff which of course decreases the standards for service. I know all of this because I am a shareholder of their stock :)
I didn't mention that I flew them once more on a return this summer (August) as I split my time between LA and Nice. The yt video on it is coming there is only a preview on my channel rn.
The food was nothing like what the reviewers make it seem and totally overhyped in my opinion. The lounge food was excellent on the other hand but still it is airplane food and stuff you would be disappointed to be served at a restaurant. When I flew there in Winter 2020 they served Cristal Champagne (350$ a bottle) and on the way back they served some other mediocre champagne that was 30$. This just shows the effects of the pandemic.

I absolutely love the way Air France executed this cabin (and the lounge too!). It reminds me of the golden age of flying, all the Art Deco inspired designs etc. Most other airlines have a gotti and over the top first class with too many gadgets and gizmos, whereas Air France captures the pure class, elegance and excitement of flight, much like the early days of aviation. This, to me, is what first class should look like. Bravo, Air France, bravo!

10:45 Caviar: Salted, unfertilized eggs of a sturgeon fish. Because it’s fish eggs many people think caviar is gross. There’s also simulated caviar with a much cheaper price that’s made from kelp, a type of seaweed. Yep, seaweed is edible. In fact, one of my favourite snacks is nori, roasted seaweed that’s normally a sushi ingredient but by itself it makes an awesome snack!

I love the quiet sophistication offered by Air France 'La Premiere'. I'd just watched the video of the trip on Emirates fro Cairo to New York in First. Emirates is an over-the-top sensory experience, with gold, wood, and fine linens and leather. Personally, I like the totally enclosed feel of their First Class seating, the passenger's personal cocoon, with many entertainment and dining options and a personalized experience. Air France 'La Premiere', it's luxurious travel without being in-your-face opulent. A more quiet and serene experience, but with the same attention to details, wonderful food and fine wines, and attention from the crew to meet their passenger's needs. You could not go wrong on either carrier. (BTW, I've obtained a menu from an Air France Concorde flight NYC to Paris back in either the late 80s or early 90s. The artwork on the cover was incredible, and the menu and wine list again were over-the-top. I noticed that the menu was prepared for that one particular flight, including the route and date. A beautiful treasure from a bygone era).

Congratulations!!! 🎉🍾🎊🎈 And great review. Me and my partner had a very different experience. Maybe it was an off day for the crew or maybe it was because we got upgraded from Business to First so did not pay full price for First. Staff insisted to speak to us in French at all times. I know a little French and apologized for not speaking it well. But staff still were curt and continued to talk to us in French. When we asked for a second glass of wine at dinner the staff appeared irritated. Again maybe it was just an off day for the crew but it made the flight from Paris to SFO quite disheartening and awkward and we felt like we were not supposed to be there. We’re both in our 40s, low key, read a book, chat quietly kinda travelers. Won’t fly them any time soon. But looks like you had a great experience which is good to see. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 and congratulations!

Jeb, I watch review videos that you and Dennis produce and I am amazed at how much better foreign airliners such as Air France, Ethiad, Emiritus, and others are so focused on customer service and here in America so people don’t want to work. They blow us out of the water (so to speak).

Booked a ticket to fly AA Flagship Business Class transcon for $659 one way. The AF product would be at minimum 15X that amount. You can afford to focus on such a high level of customer service with the ticket cost AF charges.

@@briangasser973 The correct comparison to make would be AA First on the same route as the AF La Premiere cabin. Compare price and service rendered. Plenty of videos on here showing both. No competition.

Great video Jeb, as always. I appreciate your understanding of the various offerings of service and the excitement you exhibit on your travels.
I won't mention anyone by name but another youtuber recently did a review of American's domestic business class and compared it against transoceanic first class. Then they were offended when I pointed out that a better comparison. Anyway, it just made me appreciate people like you, that much more.

I'm with you. I Just love this Premier than First or suites or something enclosed on other carriers, I love the sense of space... flying is about space... The curtain is perfect and it gives you a great homie feeling. Well done.

Another excellent review (kinda watching your videos randomly in Nov ‘21). I’ll likely never get to experience this kind of flying, so thanks for sharing your journey so well.

    Hey Jeb,
Great review- I've added this to my bucket list.
I'm surprised so many frequent flyers order steak on first/business flights. It is not possible to cook a decent steak on a plane, as everything is actually baked or microwaved.
It's always nice to hear you express your feelings of gratitude re flying in first- you realize that these flights are a privilege and your down to earth approach is most welcome.

Nice. LaPremiere lounge was almost as perfect as the Virgin First Class Lounge at Heathrow which offers a great view of planes taking off and landing.
