    My Cinema Camera 6k draws 21,6W when recording Q5 Braw 6K Open Gate 24fps to a CFExpress Type B card. The screen is set to 50%. I have a Viewfinder attached as well. When the screen brightness is set at 100, it draws 24,5W. When set to 25% it draws 20,8W. Max power draw seems to be around 27,4 when recording off speed 36 fps open gate with full screen brightness. 19W when screen is set to 10% and I record DCI 6K at 25 fps, which is how I will use it when filming classical music concerts.

    Thanks for this video. One of those super helpful videos even though it isn't a "flashy" video.

    Thanks for this. I was about to buy another battery (I have 2 but wanted 3) and decided to go ahead with a 3rd BM battery. I figure they run longer anyway. Thanks for running through the meaning of the specs. That was super helpful. Not sexy info for sure, but the more we know the better.

    Thanks for the video. I think the biggest problem with cheap batteries is there life span. I have tried quite a few and typically I find them to be more expensive over time. I have original batteries (Sony, Duracell etc.) which have lasted 5 times as long of some of the cheap ones.

    Great video. One correction. The slight voltage differences don't mean much as they all use multiple cell variants of the same lithium ion cells, which are rated from 3.6-4.2V depending on their charge level. So these being two cell batteries, can be rated anywhere from 7.2V to 8.4V. So mAh might actually be a more reliable indicator of the total energy in the battery.

    Hi, your videos are always great. I'm really interested in your thoughts on the new z6iii. In particular, I'm curious about the sensor, the dynamic range, and the raw files that come out of the camera. Thanks and best of luck.

    I didn’t take any risks with the voltage and bought myself an exact copy of the voltage of my Panasonic camera, but I’m happy with the price and good quality

    my 6k G2 is my v mount battery shoulder run and gun rig while my 6k pro is with the battery base with hot swap which I keep on sticks setup. Thank you for doing this because so many people ask why their sony fp batteries don't last, dissapate over time while plugged in, and what exact battery to purchase for longer useage.

    I found that Rawpower batteries are the closest to the original (45-50min)

    I've found similar results with other cameras and generics. I'm also certain that generics over state their capacity because no one seems to police it so that's why they do it. But of course they sell for so much less that if you don't need that 10-15% performance of the oem its a great value. Luckily BM doesn't play the cat and mouse game of updating their firmware which prevents you from using 3rd party batteries like Sony and Canon.

    I did some tests on the OG 6k and if you're powering an SSD, max brightness, recording at 6k 50 fps RAW 3:1 and powering external mics it can go up to 30W

    I bought two extra Blackmagic official batteries when I got the camera last year and these show as 8.4 on the camera and have 25.9 w/h and last longer than the one that came with the camera

    I have had a lot of knock off batteries corrode on me overtime internally. Name brand is probably worth it.

    hey Josh, i got a weird sensation about my R5C. i am using it in couple with my trusty BMPCC 4k. And tbh when i edit it side by side i feel like my old BMPCC 4k looks better. Why is that? i was hyped about my upgrade but now i feel kinda like downgraded ((

    The BMD battery does show percentage. When you tap to show the voltage, it's switching to a voltage view. It's not adding the voltage on top of the percentage view. It's one or the other, never both.

    • @Josh_Sattin
      @Josh_Sattin  5 месяцев назад +2

      My 6K Full Frame does not show the battery percentage. It toggles between battery view and voltage no matter how many times I tap it. It never shows percentage.

      @@Josh_Sattin oh wait I think I confused the "battery bar" view with percentage. My bad!

      I've never seen any batteries in this the size NP-550 etc. that has a % display on them but they probably exist, usually only special versions of the largest ones like NP-970 and above have % meter on them that I have seen.
