It's really good to watch a video with such high standards of workmanship and a beautifully outfitted travel cabin and load carrier. Your build is elegantly simple and simply elegant!
All the pictures I had did not show it very well. The room is a 42" x 27" space. It has two levels, shower pan below and 4" higher is where the cartridge toilet sits. The nice thing is the shower is 6' 8" high with a small fan. I am tall and it fits me very well. My old slide in camper was way small to use, you had to sit to take a shower. This is much better than the old camper. Thanks for the kind words.
Would love to have some of your plans in detail to build mine just like this. The kitchen/bath and cabinets especially. The cleanest and most striking to my eyes!
That is an excellent trailer my friend! I'm in the planning stages of my trailer and yours is the nicest I've found. I'm with the many other admirers and wish there was a tutorial of your build. I hope to find one someday. Thanks for sharing your trailer with us.
Great job! I have one of these trailers and have seen lots of ideas...this is by far the best one yet as a person can still utilize it as a cargo trailer yet have the amenities of kitchen, bathroom and sleep. Minimalist-like that!
@@larrybe2900 The tongue weight is 880lb. with out a load in the back. I use load leveler to hook up the trailer. As soon as I get the battery's changed to Lipo4, it should save a little more. I use a tongue scale to measure,.
This is probably the best conversion job I've seen. Wish you would have narrated it. Getting these results is not obvious to some of us with less skills. thanks though.
Always best when you do yourself. I did one that looks like a log cabin with all of the trim . People love to look at it because it wasn't bought it was created. Nice job you did on yours.
Possibly starting a full time traveling job end of next year and looking at doing a conversion. I know yours is the 8x20, after building it would you recommend just getting the 8.5 instead. I want the width but I'm not sure if there is going to be any hassle with it being the largest legal limit without being oversized
That was my thought. Being to wide, or to close for some states. Also you might have to custom order the trailer. I found a new one that was 7'6" inside height. After reinforcing the roof mine finished off at 7'1" height. It's is nice to have the extra height. It makes a difference.
@@MW-lw8em I had planned on custom ordering specifically for the extra height to be able to have more insulation in the subfloor and ceiling. A lot of the conversions IV seen are typically doing .5 to 1 inch insulation all around, but I want a minimum of 3 inches of spray foam since I will be traveling year round and will have to deal with whatever temp is at the location. Would like to save on energy consumption.
One of the few cargo trailer to camper conversions I think look as good as a factory built camper. Really nicely done. You maybe could have used the main space more efficiently with more overhead cabinets and under couch storage. The V nose kitchen looks great. I would guess you did not save a lot of money over a good used camper if you put in everything like gas, AC/DC and bathroom with black and grey water. Would be interesting to know how you vapor sealed and insulated everything also. Anyway it looks very nice and close to what I would want to do if I converted one.
Thanks, I still might install upper cabinets, I have the backing there for them. But for floor space, I have some large toys that need the space. Such a bad problem to have:)
Please tell us the size of the trailer, the dimensions of the bathroom and kitchen, and the dimensions of the "empty" (toy) space to the ramp door. I love the setup!
Really like your trailer build! I bought a 8.5 x 20 trailer to use as a toy hauler camper can you tell me what name brand and size windows you used for your trailer?
Can you possibly tell me about your power set up. How you set up the solar to run all your appliances and how much you needed for the fridge, microwave, tv and lights.
Awesome currently building my own trailer was wondering if you have house batteries for off grid camping and if so what kind how many and where did you stash them out of site? I know I need sealed deep cycle batteries but would appreciate any help you can recommend!
I picked up 1/4" Sanded wood from Lowe's, that's for the top. The sides was unfinished paneling from Lowe's also. Cabinets are from Home Depot. Hickory style. This made it easier. Had to make the power control area out of prefinished 1×4 that was in the same area. Upper doors are from Cabinets that I just used the doors from.
whale water heater made for marine use. It's 3 gal with 1250 elec heating element. I have also hooked to a solar panel made for water heater that pumps RV glycol to heat the water thru heat exchange. Thanks
Could you tell the height, width and size of the project !!! It was very beautiful. I was going to try to do a .. a beautiful job .. Brazilian greetings
Love your build, I’m working on one myself and I was wondering what wire and size did you use for your DC electrical? A friend of mine gave 200 feet of 12 gauge low voltage Speaker Wire. Should I used that wire to run all of my DC electrical? The maximum of 9 Amps and 12 volts will be on the wire at one time. Thank you very much for your time.
Hi M.V. M, I would always run the correct wire for the power thru it. I have 14 gauge thru 2/0 for all the different amps flowing. But I will only use rated wire for 12 volt and would not use the speaker wire for anything than speakers. Also up size for longer runs if your are on the edge. When I ran my speakers I used up 100' for the four speakers. You have plenty for your speakers, Safety first. Thanks on the comment on the build. I am installing a diesel air heater now. The fun never stops.
M W Thank you for your help, I will go ahead and order the correct wire. What is your estimated completion date on your trailer? I still have about a month an a half to go on mine.
Fresh water tanks is in the front behind the sink, 17 gal. The grey tanks is under the wardrobe cabinet in between the floor joists, 23 gal. The grey dumps on the driver side with a remote slide valve. It was fun looking for the correct size tanks that work.
Nice build. Curious about the height of the trailer. No one ever says how tall the ceiling is. Seems like anything over 6'4" is add on option from trailer companies.
Google blazinbelltech you should find it quick. They are not the most comfy but work. I have an 2" memory foam that hides behind each couch that makes them so much better. They are great as a couch.

I added about 1900 lbs to the trailer. The trailer is a 10,000 total load and the base weight was 3100. So I have 5k to load in the trailer. My max car weight is 2300 lb. All the others are lighter. Tongue weight without a car is 980 lb. It will go down with a car or toys in the back. I do use a 1200 lb load leveler hitch to help with the weight distribution. Most toy haulers are nose heavy unloaded.
I saved a fair amount due to having a trailer that works for what I need it to do. To haul a 15' car in a toy hauler you would need to have a 28' or larger trailer. Most of them don't have a large footprint to park in. My trailer is 20' V nose with 15'8" of pull in area.
Great job on your build. I would love to know the details of your trailer. What is the length / width? The weight before and after the build?
