    I love it. One thing I would change....I would have made the bench with a hinged board and legs that drop down, so that it can fold out to a double bed. Then use the upper area for storage space with half the width (so you can get to it easier and get around better... and with a ladder that can be attached, for storage. It would also be cool to make a tent extension that can be attached by velcro or something like that. That way you could shower and use the toilet in privacy and also have a place to eat and change your clothes, etc. I turn a lot in bed..I would fall off of that upper bed for sure.

My wife and I work at a Safetynet Hospital which makes healthcare more affordable for poor people and we are constantly helping homeless patients. Not to mention the lack of storage and ability to refrigerate food. There's not much space to have adequate cookware. You'd also have to essentially go grocery shopping everyday and be reduced to like one-pot meals. And forget leftovers. This could be a great option for solo camping or temporary housing for those suffering with homelessness. But that's really about it. Plus, that toilet would smell bad after a while if the person lived in a colder climate because I'm sure it would be brought inside since nobody wants to use the restroom in below freezing temperatures if they don't have to.

      @cadavher 22 дня назад +2

      @anothergamingchannel2656 with the crazy weather everywhere now a days, tents aren't so easy. Especially up in Canada, depending where you are, you'll be smoked out by the fires, the wildlife isn't scared of us anymore and have no issue tearing up your tent etc. You still get all the benefits of camping, only you get to wake up without bugs, no sore back, no worry about bears/coyotes at night. I loved camping as a kid and when I was younger but the last time I stayed in a tent 6yrs ago, someone had to use mace on a bear, it rained so badly even tho the forecast was light rain that it flooded the tent. Another group got kicked out for messing with others tents lol. I get what you're saying but I always thought glamping was reserved for the rvs, or big pop up trailers haha

    1) Use the bench as the bed. It would conserve space. Not everyone is an acrobat. Use the upper space as shelves etc.
    2) Cut down on price by using less exotic and expensive woods.
    3) Yes, with some changes it would be great for the un-housed as they are termed now. But it would have to be in a warm climate. The outdoor toilet and shower wouldn't work if temps go below 65°.

      This is exactly what I was thinking! With the housing crisis we are facing.. I know of many people who are living in tents and on the streets. Family's included. I'm trying to find a way to help ..however being disabled and on a very minimum income it is very hard to survive myself , nevermind helping anyone else. I often have to choose food or hydro. It's an unfortunate state this country is in right now...all I can do is pray and stay positive. Thank you for this amazing little home and some great ideas! God bless

    • @ContentMadame
      @ContentMadame 2 месяца назад +23

      Not really. It's too small to accommodate the needs of full time living, and many, if not most, homeless people are disabled in ways that make this camper's features kinda useless. This is why actual homeless people need to be involved in designing tiny homes for the community.

    • @ContentMadame
      @ContentMadame 2 месяца назад

      @@tinamartz5958 No, I'm not. I AM A DISABLED HOMELESS PERSON, and I'm telling you that in my own and many others experience, THIS is not a sufficient long term solution to the problems of daily living faced by people like me. Long term solutions are what are needed, not an upgraded box with an unusable bed. This is for young, healthy people. Furthermore, I didn't say ANYTHING about tiny homes in general, just THIS ONE. Who's being narrow minded? There are lots of tiny home designs that would perfectly well accommodate the homeless, but we were talking about THIS ONE. THIS ONE IS NOT A SOLUTION.

  • @Lionforaday

    What if you make the drop-down bed bi-fold, with a roll-out mattress? Install some pop-out dowling sticks or hinged metal prongs on the wall beside of the door, so you can use them as footholds to stand on as you drop the sleeping platform and then flip down the extension - it will still fit nicely into the wooden brackets on either side. Roll out your mattress and Bob's your uncle. Heck, Bob could even sleep over if the bench was bi-fold, too - then this truly tiny home sleeps two!

    Super! I personally would have made a double layer plank of wood on the bench with hinges down the middle and unfold it to make a bed platform across the room. I would put maybe a small shelf across the wall opposite the bench on which the unfolded plank could rest for support. Also would need a double cushion. Place the cushions sde by side when ready to sleep. When done sleeping, you fold the wood platform back over to be a bench and stack the cushions. Bed is done. But that's just my idea.
    I like that little house. It would be fun for a camp out in the backyard.
