I found the chapters in ruclips.net/user/postUgkxYGamVaHfdHiPlAQaLa7zkwR02OKpGYDU to be very relevant to my project as I embarked on building my first ever structure from the ground up. I especially found this Ryan’s Shed Plans to be of great use when it came to building the roof. I was able to do all the cuts and installation by myself, with a little reference to this Ryan’s Shed Plans.

This guy is absolutely adorable. I'm old enough to be his mother but I love watching his building videos; it makes me feel like I could do this too. I don't have any personal experience with/\ building big things, but I've always liked putting things together and I'm obsessed with miniature things.
Because of this, the Tiny Living movement really spoke to me, and I need to hear things like "Even if you don't know what you're doing, the best thing to do is just START". I've felt so overwhelmed by all the things I"ll have to do/learn and it paralyzes me; so I've got a 35 ft bus and a 30 ft RV that are both bare, Demo is easy but the rebuilding is where I'm stuck.

@@davidmrule , just wonderful David! I ♥this tiny home & you're very funny "big booty babes".😂I even like the fact that kitty made a brief appearance & let's face it "5 yr old David" was adorable. ^_^ It was very entertaining and interesting watching you start with the trailer and make it to this point! Personally I would've wanted a dry toilet but this still works & the fact that you have most everything a small caravan has & yet all of this you built yourself!
It really is inspiring and tho it still costs some $$$, I'm honestly amazed at just how much $$$ it costs to BUY basically a "tiny home on wheels" when many are going for $40,000 to $100,000+ and yet you made your own "tiny home on wheels" for a fraction of that. I ♥the wood/cedar & frankly I like the black exterior color with the wood. To me it looks more like a high-end, custom product. And what a nice print/story with the giraffes & volcano, I wondered about it earlier on obviously not knowing the backstory. Anyway, looking forward to the next video and hopefully 2023 will be a much better year for all of us!

Great work and video David.. Got a safety suggestion for your solar system.. Install a breaker on input to solar controller from solar planels.. match the capacity of the breaker to max output of solar panels.. Also put one on input to inverter from the battery matching the capacity to max current draw of inverter.. This will enable you to isolate the panels and the inverter if when working on your system.

You did a great job; you should be really proud. I don't know how many square feet your tiny home is but I do know a number of people just make a wet room for their bathroom to save space. The one thing you might want to invest in is a dehumidifier. If you don't keep the inside dry, the wood you used everywhere else in the house (with the exception of the wood in the shower) will mold, mildew and possibly warp from showering or even boiling water for tea or cooking. I've watched dozens of videos of people who built their own tiny homes and they all highly recommend you run a dehumidifier. Otherwise, your work is excellent and I'm sure you'll enjoy living and working in it.

It's good to see someone doing so much with next to no construction experience! I'm aspiring to build out my own van/box truck in the future into a mobile home but the big thing that has concerned me is whether or not I'd struggle with all the construction. Seeing you succeed gives me confidence, thank you for sharing your journey with us!

This is the future for people who want freedom. A tiny house and an electric bicycle. That is all that is needed. PS. I am also deep into Ryobi tools. Great selection used at my off the grid 15 acre nature retreat in Northern MN. Love it. $15,000? You pay for it the first two years you live there saving on rent.

love that you didn't add one of those useless sofas area but a proper desktop area to get some work done, one could probably live in one of these for a long time, the shower near the kicthen sink is also a nice touch

Awesome job! One thing, if you’re going to move around a lot, please check the wheel bearings on the trailer. These are often overlooked and can be a disaster if they fail.

I love everything about this. I am also the son of an engineer (mechanical, not electrical though) and did a box truck build a few years back. I also went into it with no skills, learning as I went. It ended up far, far worse than what I see here lol but it was tons of fun.
You taught me a few things I hadn't learned yet, in a style that suits my garbage attention span. The cabinets especially. Thanks bro!
Just to add to the collective data for anyone reading this considering their own build:
-if insulation is needed in areas where space is at premium, aerogel insulation is the highest R factor by volume that exists, but it is pretty expensive. Might be worth it around the wheel well area to save space, would not be worth it on the main walls/ceiling. For car or cargo van dwellers, it's ideal in the window recesses.
-pex curve brackets instead of right angle connectors reduce friction and possible failure points. I learned this the hard way.
-battery banks on these builds are typically 12v or 24v... converting to 110v will come at some costs of efficiency. Appliances and stuff that are 12v and pull right from the battery bank will save just a smidge of energy. You can even build a tiny gaming pc with a ryzen APU and a 12v pico psu power supply, to avoid the 12v->110v conversion efficiency loss of the inverter and the 110v->12v/5v/3.3v efficiency loss that a PC psu typically has. Similar story with LED lighting, there's a ton of lighting options that natively take 12v input, which both save efficiency loss and eliminates another part that could fail (110v->12v LED driver)
-many RV's come with 'cassette style' toilet and blackwater tank. With these, you can remove the blackwater tank from the outside through an easy hatch, no carrying it through the house. Can be dumped in a toilet at a rest stop if needed. Composting toilet is a valid option, but for those who'd rather go the typical tank way... look for a cassette toilet on fb marketplace or ebay or something. You'll only find used ones that are being parted out from RV's though.
-tile is heavy af and generally not used, but for anyone who wants to use a small amount for a kitchen backsplash, like the glass mosaic tiles, use silicone as the grout, and either the double sided tape style backing to adhere, or silicone. No cement based thinset or grout... it would crack out the first time you move anywhere.
-anywhere there is going to be hot metal near wood, use metal backed fiberglass pipe insulation. It's used on exhaust pipes for on demand heaters. Preventing the wood from reaching ignition temps can make the difference between waking up in the morning or a painful frightening death the night before.
I love this build so much. Well done, man. Well done.

Hey dude! I am from Bangladesh. I saw your previous video about this Tiny home. You was making the frame and others stuffs. Believe me or not , I was waiting for this to be done. Today you have done it. Yeah you have made it. You have completed your dream. I, myself also dream for having this kind of life. But as being an ordinary Asian kid, it won't be possible here. Mass population, peoples mentality, ability to afford, lands for camping etc.. are the main obstacles. But seeing you doing this is another level of satisfaction. Best of luck.

This is what I'm talking about! Tiny homes run up to 200,000.
They started out @15,000. Thank you so much! We'll never have a tiny home but hopefully others will see this & realize you don't have to spend 50,000.

    • @tmac9127

I think people prey on some folks inability to hunt down a bargain. I love tiny homes for the footprint but you can get a used manufactured home down here in Mississippi for around that price. People can definitely get a nice home for less than $50k. The Boxabl Casita sells for around that but looks to come pretty ready to sail from what I've seen.
He did an amazing job of breaking the work down and I think the knowledge gained is priceless. I think corporations are going to make it increasingly harder for 1st time homeowners to purchase starter homes until everyone is renting. If you do the math, the real estate on the earth is finite as our population continues to grow. Owning you some land should be a consistent conquest before this sorta thing happens. Kudos to you for starting at such a young age. 💯
