And also lock level creation after 50 level behind a payment of 15.99 or so just to be more evil make it only give them 25 levels or just give them 50 again idk
Lastly “oh you can’t afford this icon? How ‘bout bundle it and get a ball with it too for only 7.99” that would make it a terrible game
And we’re lucky we have a dev like this or else I would have died in the car and so many things wouldn’t have been made without this

one problem with the chest and icon system:
there needs to be overly flashy animations for when you pull something rare
also it has to be like 5sec long and unskippable

I have an idea to make this GD idea worse. In the treasure room, instead of just getting a chest when you pay for one, you get 5 you have to choose from. The rewards you actually get would be completely predetermined, but after you open a chest, the other ones would reveal their contents, and one would always have at least an Epic icon, and would have a high chance to have one of the time limited icons you want. This would encourage people to spend more on keys since they'll think the odds of getting the icons are higher than they are.

Maybe also add a layer-based reward system with a grand prize on the top, with each having 5 predetermined rewards with one being the "demon" that absorbs all you've got and reset the process for a week (unless you spend gems ofc). Remember that ower of fortune in Angry birds 2? yeah pretty much it, except it is weekly instead of daily, the rewards are much more plentiful and the cost to continue if you fail is 7 times higher the value. Also the choices will not be random, where the game will systematically track your playthrough and change both rewards and chances to fail accordingly. After all gambling dices, slots and roulettes are all rigged so why not in gacha systems?

Another thing I wanna say- it's becoming more and more uncommon to see mobile games where you simply buy them and don't need to make any other purchases. The free-to-play model is proven to be way more successful. Just look at Nintendo's mobile lineup; Super Mario Run was a one-and-done purchase but that didn't perform well and every mobile game they've made since then is freemium. It's a race to the bottom and it makes me sad.

Here's 5 more Ideas I came up with.
1. 2 Editor sections, a basic one with only like 1.9 stuff that you can access for $17.95/month and the levels you make won't get rated/featured. And then a premium section for $27.95/month where you get access to eveything and can get rated levels. Also you have to get the first editor section before you can buy the second one.
2. The ability to pay 1-5 gems to respawn in practice mode (the easier the level the more gems you have to pay).
3. A second type of keys, better then demon keys to unlock better chests and you have to pay more money for them. Also you can only open 1 chest/day but you can watch an ad to open more chests.
4. A third daily chest, so people watch more ads
5. Watching ads for orbs/gems but you need to watch 5 ads to get 1 gem, like in knife hit.

4 - Offerwalls, you know what they are (it is basically an offering system that offers paid promotions of surveys and games to try and get hooked in excahnge for ingame currency)
5 - Instead of one daily level, you will get 10, and you will no longer be able to freely search levels by your will and there will only be 10 levels for you to try per day (from 2* easy to 10* demon, with two levels of the same difficulty between 4 and 7* and a small chance of a 1*) based on your playthrough. Watch an ad if you want to reshuffle
6 - VIP subscriptions, whether it'd be daily, weekly or monthly, with multiple layers, depending on your choice, with a cancellation fee that progressively increases as your subscription continues. There will be free one week trial for each
7 - Rig the daily levels. They will do a favor if you pay more and make it unfair if you pay less, with fairness slowly declining as you spend more and more hours f2p.
8 - A website that offers daily streak rewards only accessible through their website with bonuses if you log in every day per week, per month and even a grand prize if you consecutively log in to their website and claim rewards for 365 days. In addition to that, there will be deals and sales exclusive to said website, where you pay directly to them instead of through google play
9 - Annoying pop up deals (zynga moment) except, there will be an option to disable pop up deals exclusively for the VIP subscription
10 - With the assistance of AI technology, you'll be getting deals and bundles that are incredibly personalized, based on your gaming experience (i.e. your difficulty choice, how much you play per week, your bday etc)
12 - Make a "storage" where, as you complete levels you gain free chests, but they are only unlocked if you wait for a moment (like those chests in royale) and it will not have much inside. the chances of getting better chests will increase if you pay more (unlike in royale where chests arent random)
13 - Speaking of VIP, Under the highest tier, you will gain the option to skip a specific amount of ads for free rewards per day
14 - Add the tower of fortune from Angry birds 2, except it will be available weekly instead of daily, the rewards will be much plentiful, and the cost to continue will be 7x higher

How about a VIP subscription. For way too much/month, you can gain access to exclusive icons, more objects to place in the editor (editor stays as a separate subscription), orb multipliers, more energy, an exclusive profile tag, and more! The editors stays separate to encourage people to buy both subscriptions. If they get just the editor, they’ll want the VIP pass to gain access to all the objects the editor has. If they get just VIP, they won’t feel like they’re getting everything they can out of it without the editor. I have so many more ideas for IAPs, like icon packs. Or how about full on DLCs, one could be platformer mode. Big packs that include mechanics that completely change the game. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Certainly the same person who knows so much about improving the game also knows exactly how to ruin it. The Competency Paradox.
To be fair when you get really good at doing something you know what to do AND not what to do.
Other people have already said this, but make like a third of the purchases "discounted" for a "limited time," and change the reason from a Christmas sale to a valentines sale and so forth. Also add a pop up the first time you open the game with some sort of bundle with an outrageous price ($15+), so that way everything else looks cheaper

For the editor, have a free trial, either timed or quantitative
Timed: You get access for 7 days with full features and then you have to pay (this is great because some people will forget to cancel)
Quantitative: You get to create 3 free levels with full features, then once you’ve created your 3 you are locked back out of it.
Timed ones have the advantage of users not wanting to waste it, and of course some will forget to cancel. However quantitative free trials really give the user a “taste” of what they could do, and perhaps they would be inclined to pay for it.
Also, you could add different tiers to the editor.
Editor Basic: Just basic features that make up a level (portals, basic blocks, spikes, etc). Only game soundtracks. $5/mo
Editor Plus: More advanced features, and you unlock some decorations. Some custom tracks from specific artists. $12/mo
Editor Pro: Full access to all features. All custom tracks unlocked, this is basically the current editor. $25/mo
Editor Max: Everything in Pro, plus early access to EXCLUSIVE upcoming content. The ability to import any sound or music. Also, a coloured name or title to show you have this so you can laugh at all the brokies. $45/mo
Display all of this in a table putting ticks and crosses by each feature for each tier, to entice people more.

@plasma263 Well I thought that you would be able to create 3, and before you play it you’d have to save it which counts as one of your free levels (also, once you save it you can’t edit it)
I mainly see it in creation websites such as AI image generators and stuff, I suppose looking at it again it doesn’t quite fit the GD editor
