Neither of the two main candidates in becoming President will "run" the country. They are not up to all aspects of the job. The decisions will be made by advisors. Trump's Gettysburg ramble reminds me so much of the kids in history class who clearly didn't prepare for their presentations but got up and said whatever came to mind anyway.
Using purposely vague and sometimes contradictory terms, like a psychic with their predictions, just so you can claim you got something right, never mind all the wrong stuff. It demonstrates a tremendous lack of respect for everyone in the room. Not just that you didn't prepare, but that you thought so little of your audience that you think it doesn't even matter, or that they're dumb enough to buy it. It's truly childish. As an adult, if you don't prepare, you don't gas light everyone and insult their intelligence; you say, "I'm so sorry I did not prepare for this, I won't waste your time any more; let me go prepare and we'll try this again later." Not preparing is bad enough, but then acting like you did or that it doesn't matter is downright offensive and everyone should hate you for it.
That is so blatantly clear, I can't believe that everyone doesn't see it.

Even though I live in Utah, I will be a New Yorker for this whole trial.
I am non-american and am barely educated in american history. Even I could recognize that the former president had no idea about what happened at Gettysburgh. Now I know a lot more about this battle because I read Wikepedia about the subject. Obviously very basic stuff but in about 15 minutes I knew far more about this stuff than the former president.
Another non-American here, I also clearly recognised that he doesn't have a clue. And I also googled the battle awterwards. I wonder if Trump even know about the existence of Wikipedia.

Freedom of Speech is, being able to hold a view on religious and political views with out being arrested for having those views. Freedom of speech does not mean you have the right to mouth off and annoy the crap out of everyone, and speak louder then someone because you don't like what they are saying. christianity is a huge part of the problem. most trumpers are evangelicals. they are primed, by their 'faith' to 1) believe in nonsense, without evidence, as per the definition of faith in the bible 2) longing for a strongman, authoritarian god, like yahweh and jesus. don't get me wrong, even though' i'm an anti-theist, i know some incredible and intelligent christian people, but they are usually episcopalian or non-southern baptist (regular baptists can be hip), it's our american flavor of fundamentalist evangelical xtianity that fuels trump's fire.

The fact that Americans have to file their own taxes is bizarre. Here in New Zealand, your taxes are done for you, unless you're self-employed.
Tax preparer companies have successfully lobbied to keep taxes complicated so we have to pay those companies to do our taxes every year. I wish that was a joke, but it's really a thing.
It’s not all the preparation companies. Mega-rich individuals want it complicated too. More opportunities to play with numbers and write things off means more opportunities to hold onto extra.
Tax games only benefit the companies suddenly required to navigate things, or the people who can play those games.
The government does indeed know what most W2 employees “should”owe. Hence why they try to take it out all along the way, and always manage to overcollect. That’s no coincidence. If you don’t file, they hold onto that extra $50.
