  • Lisa and Steve Daniels have six beautiful children between the ages of two and 13, but the pretty picture ends there. Chaos rules; Lisa and Steve don't. Cursing, hitting and general misbehaviour are commonplace among the kids. The kids are so out of control that their parents have given up trying to manage or teach them. Jo tells Lisa and Steve that they're lazy and need to grow up and be parents.

Mom can't connect with Halley because she's transferred both her responsibilities and her anger at all the children to Halley. As the oldest girl, I got blamed for everything. I feel for Hayley. The oldest girl is not the slave of all, nor should she be the scapegoat for every problem. I've seen this in my professional career so many times--the oldest daughter is expected to fix everything (hero) and gets blamed for everything (scapegoat.)

As the Oldest Girl among my siblings, I feel so much for Halley. I was expected to be an adult starting when I was 12. I was expected to help out more than my older brother, too. He was responsible for his own messes for sure, but I had to look after everyone else's in addition to mine.

I feel for Halley. Lisa couldn’t control Alexus, but Halley would listen; so when they would get into an altercation Lisa would punish Halley for the both of them. Poor girl. Plus the chores to “keep her busy” while Alexus just antagonized her and mom didn’t intervene. I feel for mom, but at the end of the day she is the mom and needs step up.
