@@JaeChanArtza lot of people struggle to realize how differently everyone processes something and that just because they survived and were able to glean something from it doesnt mean it was effective or healthy
If ur into the why of it the tldr is basiclly the trauma rewires the brain and so normal relationships and actions feel wrong, that coupled with the fact you are hurting and traumatizing another person means youd have to admit there is “something wrong” with you leads to people validating horrible experiences rather then getting therapy and moving past it like they should.

That’s not true though. Yea it could make things better and it is beneficial to stand up for her daughter. But the point is she shouldn’t have to. She is terrified to and theres times where doing that could only make it worse. There’s so many relationships that there’s no budging someone who has too much control, otherwise they just get madder. Plus jo needs to observe all of this, it’s possible she could just be letting it happen so jo can find the best solution.
For those saying they're shocked Jo called CPS, she said 32:25 around: "Your children are not safe, and standing here it is my obligation to keep your kids safe." That to me was telling alone that she felt the need to report it. The man openly laughed while he was caught on video slapping his daughter around while his wife wasn't present, with force. Totally agree. Split with my husband when my kids were 5 and 8 and made the decision I was not going to date anyone until my youngest was 16 because I just wasn’t prepared to have someone in my house that might treat my kids badly.
