The mom’s binky is her phone.
Yup!
😂😂😂😂 I'm dead 🤣🤣
@@eruby3225 I'm choking on my oatcakes 🤣 Superb comment about phones being our Binkies !
Binkys are for babies
Well it’s not anymore
The middle child is usually the "good girl". She gets overlooked and taken for granted every time.
Exactly how it was in my family, I am the middle child.
Hopefully, she doesn't grow up to act out to get people's attention! Or look for attention from guys! Sounds like they should have stuck with the two they had. They didn't need more. I think children are blessings, but it's unfair to have children you don't or refuse to have time for.
But wait, her trauma will show up in so many ways, and everyone will be hyper critical of her because they relish in her newfound problems and the opportunity to deflect their own issues. Siblings get resentful of " how easy you had it" when you didn't at all. You just learned to stay quiet and out of the way!😢
She didn't need to be fixed that's why. She's perfect and lovely the way she is 🥰
Not really. My middle child is the most spontaneous, active, fooling around all the time, i don't get to tell her anything. My eldest is the obedient one, helping us out with my little one etc etc
Poor Ashley. We saw so little of her. 😢 I almost forgot she was part of the family.
Poor Ashley, she didn’t get any cameras shoved in her face 24 seven😢
She was probably the most well-behaved kid out of their whole family🤔
She wasn't asked, how she felt.😢
I know! Little sweetheart.
She probably asked to not be on screen too much.
"What u mean ur day don't end?! It don't bloody begin!" 😂😅 I love Jo 🤣
I loved that! And it was so true!
😂😂😂😂
So true😂
That mother is checked out and useless
The way the dad said he’s sorry for Ashley because she doesn’t get enough attention is just sad but also caring❤❤😭😭
Then he should do something about it.
The wife is taking advantage of the Dad , she’s disgusting , you don’t treat anyone like that far less the man your supposed to love .
@@marianlawrie8614 I agree.
Hes qorking 70 hours then coming home and doing the chores the mother refused to do all day. He should just leave thebchores and spend time with the daughter but i see why hes feeling he has to do the chores @tinydancer7426
Yeah then they only showed glimpses of Ashley in the background for the entire episode...
I feel so bad for Ashley. Where is she in this whole dynamic? Please pay more attention to her. She's precious.
Yeah...makes you wonder how much she has to do while dad's at work. Mom doesn't seem to do much except try to look good.
You realize this is like 10 years old
Yea then when they said to bring the family together they didn’t even bring her. I hope she got more attention later on
They will be sorry when she gets out of the house…there is no going back.
@@YoMama9021Even older, this episode was filmed in January-February 2009. So all the kids are grown up now.
Mum is just “ minding” the children , NOT parenting her children; she doesn’t feel she has any responsibility for anything else. If Dad wasn’t so responsible, their world would follow apart.
You hit the nail on the head.
This father worked hard to support his family and did the work for this "stay at home" mother.
I can't imagine how you wouldn't at least feel some sort of guilt watching your husband bust his butt all day and come home to do chores, all the while, your kids are running amok. Unreal. You're not sick or pregnant, what's the excuse?! I would feel like the biggest loser on earth if I let my husband live like that, it would break my heart.
This Mom is lazy and not pulling her share of the load!
I disagree. The father is enabling her. He should just refuse to do it and she would be forced.
I have read many comments concerning Ashley. Dad not only recognized and admitted that Ashley didn't get as much attention as she should, but also felt bad about it.The show did show Dad sitting at the table with Ashley helping her with her homework. It did show that Ashley offered to make up the twins beds but Mom said she would do it. Showing that Mom has taken on her responsibilities and not pushing them off on the older kids. Ashley may not have wanted to be in the "spotlight" so the show focused on the other three kids more to respect Ashley's wishes. If that's the case, bravo to the show for not only listening and hearing Ashley but respecting her as well.
Good call. She possibly told them 'don't you include me, I'm not the problem here'. 😂😂😂
Oh that makes sense thanks for the clarification
Bingo!!!!!!
I do like this take - I thought she was overlooked because her issue (of parents not being able to spend time with her) would be resolved through improving the twins behaviour.
Little Lilly was so proud when she handed over her binky. 😍
I NEVER used filthy pacifiers
That's the thing, by not letting them grow, they're denying them being proud for becoming big. They are denying them the joy of growing older 😢
❤❤
@@carolmanning1333we didn't give them to our kids either
Yes she was!❤
Ashley is so unappreciated 😭 she literally said "do you want me to make Luke and Lilly's bed?" and helped wipe the table 😭😭
NINETY MINUTES?!?! Now that the parents have their bed to themselves….Lawd, please don’t make another baby!
Initially I was so happy to hear that they didn't get to sleep alone in the bed because then that prevents them from having more children 😂
The longest was 4 hours
What is this referring to? /genq
@stawklove2990 how long it took for them to stay in their own beds for one night
😅😅
They already had four kids but obviously the mom didn’t understand her responsibility and task.
FR I LOVE YOUR RESPONS IT IS GRATE👍🏻👍🏻👍👍👍🏼👍🏼👍🏽👍🏽👍🏾👍🏾👍🏿👍🏿
Huh?
I do wonder if she hadn't become bored with her life, and with the difficulties, she was excusing herself by using the phone.
Jo coming was helpful, in reminding her of the responsibilities, but also that she was able to parent these kids and do work around the house. I am amazed at Jo's insight and ability to address the critical issues.
@@gladysanderson1351More like her husband wanted kids so she did it to make him happy
@virgosbonnet8933 its always the man's fault 🙄🙄
Little Eric looks 25, feel for those older kids... Ashley seems completed ignored.
Stop lying 🤥 🛑 she was fare according to each person needs
They should’ve told Ashley she was doing great or something. She would ignore because she didn’t need help. She was doing what she was supposed to.
I have so much respect for this woman. She deals with kids and families of the worst of the worst, and I applaud her for that

Because then they are faced with what they knew all along, which is they messed up big time.
It’s just an act for the show lmaoo
I think some of the moments where they are are in the confessionals seem prompted, but the raw footage u can see the body language and whatnot seems more distressed@@citlalliyepez5379
Even if you call someone for help it can still be scary having your faults pointed out to you, especially if you don’t know what they are and your blind to them. Super nanny has to find them and show the mum and Dad where they are going wrong and how to do it correctly.
Because they know that their problems are of their own making and although they want to solve them, it is scary to have to face your own inadequacies. Especially on TV!
Usually the one who is most scared is the one who has persuaded themselves that it's all someone else's fault, but there's that little worm of doubt that tells them that they are about to be exposed.
As soon as I saw Lukes Lips. I got very upset, It looks so painful, and I feel so bad for him and Lily-
When I saw his lips I was like that that’s why he doesn’t wanna eat
Same here
DITTO!!! 🤬
Me too! It's lazy parenting. There's no excuse.
i know right it’s terrible like who does that like come on .
4 years of pacifiers/binkys leads to 8-10 years of braces, retainers, and other orthodontic expenses.
:0 that's crazy!!!
As someone who let their kids have their pacifiers for way too long, this is so true!
I wish I could go back and do things totally different

Women out here if your husband is able to care for you and his children, please love him and care for him and your family in every way you can. The weight this man carries is very heavy I’m so glad Joe was able to help this family.
I would love to have someone like this in my life.
Round of applause for super nanny these kid should NOT have Binkys in there mouth at 4 years old?! And the 13-year-old disconnecting with the family is unacceptable. Good job for teaching them and giving the household discipline.
I can kind of see where he gets his indifference towards his family, though, because his parents don't seem to care much for each other.
Pacifiers are for baby's
Poor Ashley was ignored.
I have autism so family can be too much most of the time.
I wouldn’t want to be around them either
❤ Jo is so wise and loving. She's literally saved and changed more lives of children and familie's than we can even count. What an incredible woman she is. By far the most underrated 💐❤

True @noblevictory2200
I feel absolutely horrible for Ashley … why was there zero engagement with her ?! It’s a classic tale of the middle child being ignored and that the one who’s in the most danger .
I assume she didn't want to be on camera much.
Unfortunately, it's the squeaky wheel that gets the oil.
Because she caused no problems?
Could also just be the editing, more drama with the other kids.
Oh please, I was the middle child and safer than all my siblings
The binkie fairy is so sweet. I wish I thought of that.
Our binky fairy was the garbage man. We watched from the window as the trash was picked up after putting them all in the bin. “Bye bye binkies!!”
It actually went better than I expected, but if I had to do it over again, I would do the binky fairy.
I feel so sorry for Ashley! She might as well be invisible!
the show can only be so long and has to be edited. Her story probably wasn't particularly problematic
Let's hope that's the case.
@@emj850her size is problematic.
Soooooo how are you EVER bored when you have four children? "What do mean your day don't end? It don't bloody begin?" (Ok I need that quote on my OWN fridge!)
I only have one and boredom never comes into it! She’s only bored because she never does anything she’s supposed to as the SAHP!
I found it very easy to get my kids to give up their pacifiers. I just didn't buy any new ones after they got to be about 8 mos. old. As soon as they learned to walk they started losing them around the house, and if they asked for them I just shrugged. After they forgot about them, I threw them out. I never fought with any of them about it and it worked with all five of them.
My middle niece loved the binky but when was 2 she gave it to Santa 🎅
My son gave his to the garbage men. He was obsessed with their truck.
My mom says that I dropped my binky once and she just never gave it back to me lol
My mom took them away when I was misbehaving and I never got them back.
Good technique!
The little boy doesn't look well. I hope he's ok
Stress will really stretch kids thin
Agreed-he looks ill
First thing I thought when I saw him
Pretty sure he's chronically sleep deprived. He'll feel better after he learns to sleep in his own bed.
Well...considering he's 19 years old now I also hope he's sleeping in his own bed.@@er6730
The mom says the 4 year olds will NOT give up their binkies...as if she has no power at all. Just get rid of them. Smh
The mom needs to drop the phone and take care of her kids smh

The 4 year old boy looks so unhealthy. He's got the classic allergy half moon eye bags.

They even said that they regret that they don't give her time an attention but proceeded to not give her time or attention.
I can’t believe the Mum spends so long in her phone
That’s just bloody ridiculous!!
It's selfish and lazy
She could be multitasking. Fold the clothes as you talk to your friends, dust your furniture for starters. That’s what I do.
It's a form of escapism
You mean on the phone
Didn’t even know they had an older daughter until about 30 min in..
IKR? Poor young girl.
Having kids means having to grow the @#$% up. They may understand in an abstract sort of way, but Mom still acts like she's in middle school. Hubby is afraid to man up, and their oldest son has given up on getting his emotional needs at home, because nobody is emotionally available.
I would disagree with the husband being afraid to man up. He's the only one keeping the household together. After work, he still do so many chores when the wife could've done that when she's the one at home the whole day. Instead the mom is on the phone for 5 hours.
These two genuinely seem like they just really lost their way. No one wakes up one day and says their going to be horrible parents. They just need the tools, education, and willingness to not revert back to their old habits. It’s always easier to just let the kids rule , but then we’re just creating selfish monsters
I am quite surprised by these parents. They did much better than I expected, congrats!
I just don't understand how there are so many people clueless as to how to raise children.
And yet they keep having them. It’s the definition of insanity.
How many children do you have?
Well now that I know they were teen parents, I am more understanding, but it’s good that they recognized the problem and fixed it.
It's hard standing firm when your child is begging and crying.... It has to be done but it's a stomach churner.
There is no rule book.
PS: doesn't the Nanny EVER age? I feel like I watched her 25 years ago and she looks the exact SAME!!!
This video might be from 25 years ago. 😁
Huge cellphone bill causes me to suspect that.@@SamsungGalaxy-nm5qt
I have to say, even tho the parents (especially the mom) deserves all of these criticisms in the comment section, they really stepped up in taking responsibility, and putting the work in. Neither of them even gave supernanny any grief when she was teaching them her techniques and criticizing their parenting.
Of course they could've easily regressed back into their bad habits once the cameras left. But just going by this video, they seemed to be on the right path. I hope that it all turned out well for this family.
Still, it should never have come this far!
SIXTY HOURS work week and then do the "mother's" job on top of it!
Of she doesn't like housework she can go out and work 60 hours to earn money and let him take care of the house.
I spend hours online but I don't have children and responsibilities to anyone than myself.

Wait, Ashley is completely overlooked by her parents, Supernanny, and the production team 😂😥
Supernanny saying to the mother your day doesn't begin 😂. I felt sorry for the dad and the older kids.
I feel so bad for the 13yo, having to get the talk and get all of that exposed on tv. I wonder how that affected him growing up.
Agree!! Ridiculous of Jo too!

P ppl😅
All these children are in emotional pain. The mother is so selfish
I agree completely.
I did the rapid return technique to get my boy to sleep in his own bed.. he got out of bed ovr 50 times one night.. it took about 2 weeks of perseverance but it worked 👍🏻
Did this family get divorced? I can't imagine their dynamic being sustainable. I'm blown that the husband allowed himself to be taken for granted like that.
They are still together and have an amazing family dynamic
Omigosh i LOVE JO!!!! She never lets anything slide when it comes to properly taking responsibility for kids. She was so hard yet loving to these parents. They were LUCKY to have her! You're in HER class now 🫡
"He's thirteen years old and isolating himself."
Dude, hes 13. 🤨
Yeah I was thinking that 😂
And id like to say, its possible the older daughter got camera shy, theres no shame in that at all either!!
They also edit these shows for maximum drama, so if she wasn't causing any drama they either edited out her "scenes" or didn't record her as much.
Anyone feel like when the Dad said to wait for someone you really love before having relations, he was talking about himself?? If she was 17 he probably wasnt too much older.
I felt that.
I think they did the right thing by having the baby and getting married but I wonder if either of them saw their future they would have chosen the same path.
The little boys lips scare me. That looks so painful and made me so wretched. I feel so bad for Lily aswell. Also, I feel horrible for Ashley! She deserves so much better than this treatment.
TBH his whole face looks rash-y and all the kids look unwashed

I NEVER understand why 1) are some people together and more importantly 2) why the keep having children when they don’t like them!? 🤦♀️
Bc the next one will fix everything
My niece had her binky until she started school. Not that my sister and brother in law didn't try to get rid of them but she was so smart she took all her binky's and hid them.
Did she buy her own binkies, or did her parents?
I have 2 daughters. I wouldn't say I liked binkies. My 1st daughter was around 6 moths and threw it one too many times. I got so tired of picking it up and washing it off so, I trashed it. The best decision I made ever! I believe that made it easier to wean off bottles as well. I never gave them to my 2nd baby and she NEVER needed it. They learn other self-soothing methods and honestly in my opinion made them less clingy.
I wish I could’ve seen them give some affection and encouragement to their daughter for being so helpful and well behaved. She’s a lovely girl!
Poor Ashley ..but she’s a star 🌟
It's so heartwarming to see the families coming together again at the end, the happiness and love is beautiful ❤️
My doctor embarrassed me into stopping my toddler of 15 months old to STOP using the "binky". Although, we here in American call them "pacifiers". Trust me when I say, I WAS embarrassed and immediately threw it away when I got home. That was back in the late 70's!
I call them "dummies". None of my 4 had them.

Never mind the kid's lips, pacifiers can cause permanent damage to the gums, jaws and future adult teeth. The saying "it will only affect their baby teeth" is nonsense. Pacifiers are not good for babies as soon as their baby teeth grow in!
