he says that he was traveling so fast his skin burned off, Its called turf burn allot of people get it when playing on turf it is not that big of an acomplishment.
Sports Science does a awesome job not only showing the science of various aspects in all sports, they analyze and show just how amazing professional athletes are. Great job Sports Science...especially you John Brenkis lol!
This is what happens when you try to arm tackle. I'm glad Vernon Davis broke out last year. Its amazing when a beast like him starts to put it together.
For one, cardio is needed for explosiveness between plays. 2, you have to be able to keep up this explosiveness for an entire 4 quarter, 15 minute quarter game. It's far worse if you have to play on offense, defense and special teams where the only rest you get is time outs, huddles and half time. It's needed for winning that first step off the line for a lineman, getting ahead of a D-back for a catch, keeping up w/ recievers on defense, breaking long runs without getting caught from behind etc.
Well obviously, its one thing to drag dead weight, another to try to drag an athlete trying to pull you down. If it were like this on Sundays, Vernon Davis would score a TD with every other catch he makes. But Vernon Davis is a real monster, so damn strong.
I look back many years later and say that they should have fully extended the strap before starting the exercise. The way they did it in the video allowed VD to get a head start without the tackler having any momentum
If your in the air your body can only put up half the max resistance your body could with both feet on the ground. Vernon Davis is a beast he got hit hard a took it like a man.
To bad this is 6 years old , and Peyton is playing bad , and Owen Daniels and whoever else already doesn't get much work , I don't think it will be a game changer but it's nice to always have another option
Jayden Taylor peyton doesn't play bad whenever he is able to do his thing and run the offense the way he wants to..if the head couch will stop trying to run the offense then everything would be ok
Latrell Guy kubiak should have never been called in as a headcouch... especially not to run and offense that wasn't broken in order to put in place an offensive system that didn't not work AT ALL with his last team in baltimore... Peyton has been his own offensive coordinator for the past 12 years the head coach is just supposed to look at the overall performance of the team not stick his nose and hands in and screw everything up
I dont think that its the same as in a game, because in a game, you aren't dragging people by ropes, they'll probably be at your waist, which would impede his stride
Its the mere fact that those guys are heavily muscled and train themselves to get from point A to point B as fast as possible. VD with his size and speed would be more then a hand full for anyone. Most people have no clue how big and strong these guys are.
I'm a Rams fan and I thought for a while he was a bust but damn has he finally reached his potential. Put him in Gronks system and he would be the top TE.
Amazing athlete. Vernon may actually be the best athlete to ever live. He owns the greatest performance at a NFL combine. He is 6'3", 250 pounds of solid muscle. Runs a 4.37, amazing for a guy his size, most 200 pound DBs can't even run that. Benched pressed 225 33 times, a lot of linemen can't do that. Also, he has a 42 inch vertical. He is just an amazing athlete.
Some not saying all or even a majority. But they do have some speedy guys that are like 190 ish. Same size as point guards in the NBA, all they do is run with the ball.
The point I was trying to make was that cardio for a football players important in terms of practicing, but in game situations it's not nearly as important as it is in rugby.
@TheBoyChur first off, I have no idea what you mean by "Avg Size Super 15 6'2 228" the nfl is a specialized game in which there are really 3 sizes: linemen, linebackers/tight ends, and backs. Left
Why so many comments on Kam hitting Vernon. I mean, he was in the air going up for a pass anyone could hit somebody like that when they are off the ground
@Cheema0113 so true also vernon is probably the best athlete in the nfl becuz he is 6'3 253 and runs and 4.38 4o and benches 33 reps thats amazing for a guy his size, position and amazing for anbody really
Vernon's a beast no doubt but last year he did get shoe lace tackled by an Atlanta cornerback though and was stopped on the 1 yard line I couldnt belive it myself.
Man I am rugby player and I agree with you. Nfl has FAR better athletes But there are some fellas playing in rugby union and league who are fantastic athletes and could cut it. IMO the difference is Nfl is based on Athleticism. You gotta be the biggest, fastest and strongest to succeed. Rugby skill sets are far more versatile and fatigue is a much bigger factor, so its not always that the most athletic player is the best. some of the best players arent great athletes, just super skilful.
Actually depends who it is , forwards are normally bigger and just as fast (not props), backs (runners) are even in weight or less but it still wouldn't be that bad for them

“Doesn’t shy away from contact” *jumps over defender*
Jaxon Douglas 💀💀i was like wtf
Woah five days ago cant belive we still watch theese vids lmao
thing is, this is 360 lbs of dead weight, they are not pulling just holding on. They should have been pulling in the opposite direction the whole time
TV BS, lol lokat his turf drag, that could've been prevented
Crap Bag what are you talking about.
He doesn't like the feeling of Kam Chancellor hitting him.. that's for damn sure.
You know thats right and we going to the supers bowl!
yeah seahawks
@@clutchxmvpx3052 things said moments before disaster
@@leeoswald6803 lol
He was in the air
than kam chancellor stole his soul
this guy is a beast... what a game he had
he says that he was traveling so fast his skin burned off, Its called turf burn allot of people get it when playing on turf it is not that big of an acomplishment.
+fuzzy puggle Sports Science.
That's why I wear under armour on turf
Omg I hate turf burn I don't know why I find it so bad
+JuiceBoxGaming I had to wear shorts cause long pants made my knees burn 😂
+fuzzy puggle a little different because when im sliding for a ball, i stop eventually. with this he keeps going and going since he's being dragged.
Sports Science does a awesome job not only showing the science of various aspects in all sports, they analyze and show just how amazing professional athletes are. Great job Sports Science...especially you John Brenkis lol!
5:44 GRIND ON ME

me taking my dog for a walk
the guy who is wearing the red shirt was throwing himself .
He holds the record for touchdowns for a TE in a season. He missed a third of the season this year and has 11 touchdowns.
This is what happens when you try to arm tackle.
I'm glad Vernon Davis broke out last year. Its amazing when a beast like him starts to put it together.
His hairline was pulled back further than he pulled those guys
Lmfao damn
@KimfromSoCal True, I'd love to see Mike Alstott come back and do this. Legends has it that he dragged 6 or 7 guys into the endzone.
This isn't even a question. You know that the best tight end in football is going to drag you 10 yards into the end zone. Go 49ers / Vernon Davis .
For one, cardio is needed for explosiveness between plays. 2, you have to be able to keep up this explosiveness for an entire 4 quarter, 15 minute quarter game. man this guy had a beast of a 2009 year too....
@pzl120 well said! 250+ lbs running a 4.3 is crazy. I would like to see him play some at RB, lol.
dont want to risk injury. purpose was just to get some numbers out.
v.d. is a beast.
good to see him finally coming around.
The replay when the guy was slammed to the ground was SOO funny lmao!
nothing beats 39 year old manning laying out a linebacker lmfao
Ahh yes. At a time when he was actually good and didn't drop balls
I swear, 2009 was so extra
Well obviously, its one thing to drag dead weight, another to try to drag an athlete trying to pull you down. If it were like this on Sundays, Vernon Davis would score a TD with every other catch he makes.
But Vernon Davis is a real monster, so damn strong.
2:57 how graceful
love being a tight end..fav position in all of football
I look back many years later and say that they should have fully extended the strap before starting the exercise. The way they did it in the video allowed VD to get a head start without the tackler having any momentum
your channel is awesome
Best tight end in the leauge
And I've been watching NFL on espn since '92 so you know.

man i laughed so hard!!!!!! i mean that beast made him the fucking host fly!!!!!
Nobody:
People in movies when a grenade goes off
2:58
john flies in the air!
They should do one on Kam Chancellor on knocking Vernon Davis the fuck out twice.
+redmustang03 or the one where Malcolm Butler beat the fuck outta the Seahawks
Most JUANerable Yea don't be fucking stupid, Malcom butler is good but just fuck ofc
Gonzalez is my favorite TE
first time they actually bring an elite player
If your in the air your body can only put up half the max resistance your body could with both feet on the ground. Vernon Davis is a beast he got hit hard a took it like a man.
john. best slo-mo face ever!!!!!
Vernon Davis
damn he so quick outta his stance
They’re still feeling the effects of this to this day
That's a great thing for the San Francisco 49ers that Patrick Willis & Vernon Davis are on the same team.
Exactly. They're built for short bursts of energy one after another.
@pzl120 Troy Polamalu came out benching 450 with a 4.3 40. He also put 225 31 times coming out of college...hes a freak too
5:49
That sounds like the monster in temple run
@Hampsey83 Hell yeah. You gotta give him all the respect for that.
John Brenkus is back with new Show "GOAT Code"! Sponsored by The Super Patch Company!
Respect he was even able to hold onto the rope
Pure Beast...
Those turf burns had to be painful that night. And I knew Davis was strong, but...damn.
OME VERNON IS A BEAST!!
and this is the tight end that denver just gót from the 49ets to complete their 3 tightend set... goodluck everyone else
+richard grace what do you think the head coach is for
Latrell Guy kubiak should have never been called in as a headcouch... especially not to run and offense that wasn't broken in order to put in place an offensive system that didn't not work AT ALL with his last team in baltimore... Peyton has been his own offensive coordinator for the past 12 years the head coach is just supposed to look at the overall performance of the team not stick his nose and hands in and screw everything up
noor k they won the superbowl in spite of kubiaks offense because peyton could manage the game well enough and because of wade Phillips
I dont think that its the same as in a game, because in a game, you aren't dragging people by ropes, they'll probably be at your waist, which would impede his stride
What a beast
he is such a beast
Its the mere fact that those guys are heavily muscled and train themselves to get from point A to point B as fast as possible. VD with his size and speed would be more then a hand full for anyone. Most people have no clue how big and strong these guys are.
When both of them got jerked 😂😂😂😂😂😂 im dying
@Conn203 He had Cutters on his right hand with all the sensors and then he put on the UnderArmour glove before they did the test.
That was freaking awesome
Gotta remember that 60 degree angle to run. Jesus...2 freaking Kris Jenkins'? Unbelievable!
at 2:58 i discovered the worst superman torpedo lick
I'm a Rams fan and I thought for a while he was a bust but damn has he finally reached his potential. Put him in Gronks system and he would be the top TE.
Ouchh the turf burn
venerial disease is one of my favorite niners right now
the guys getting pulled are putting on just a bit 😂😂

yeah Davis and Willis take the roles of the "Steel Jets" using their strength and speed
The point I was trying to make was that cardio for a football players important in terms of practicing, but in game situations it's not nearly as important as it is in rugby.

try and do that against haloti ngata
Outrageous athlete scientifically proven
poor john. i feel so bd for him.
Why so many comments on Kam hitting Vernon. I mean, he was in the air going up for a pass anyone could hit somebody like that when they are off the ground
Exactly bro
his face. :) hahahaha at 3:39
To take him out needs to be strength not weight
vernon is fucking jacked oh my god. you can muscles i didn't even know existed. Wish I was that ripped
when he flew i LOL'D
You see how the dude in the blue didnt over exaggerate that pull but throwing his feet in the air but dropping the knee like a normal person does
thats like trying to go on a walk with a bear LOL
@Cheema0113 so true also vernon is probably the best athlete in the nfl becuz he is 6'3 253 and runs and 4.38 4o and benches 33 reps thats amazing for a guy his size, position and amazing for anbody really
Vernon's a beast no doubt but last year he did get shoe lace tackled by an Atlanta cornerback though and was stopped on the 1 yard line I couldnt belive it myself.
This was back when Vernon still loved the game. The 49ers clearly won that trade with Denver
its like holding on to a stallion horse full speed lmaooo
He is an athlete.
Vernon Davis = Future HOF = best TE = Beast
and me thinks the little guy sold it like a miami heat player.
If they take the slack out of the damn tow line it would stop that initial jerk and they wouldn't have flown like that.
Sean2112 i could care less thats was awesome seeing brenkus fly
also if he didn't stand straight up
"who wants to go fo a ride???"

DOLPHIN DIVE OF THE YEAR :D
Actually depends who it is , forwards are normally bigger and just as fast (not props), backs (runners) are even in weight or less but it still wouldn't be that bad for them
his left glove keeps switching between a cutter and the under armour glove
It's not about the weight, which is attached to his back, it's more about getting tripped up that takes one of these players down.
The turf burn😟
