I was curious so i looked up their prices, it's honestly not that bad considering the presentation and quality. Around 130$ for a full menu similar to what they had (per person). Still a lot of money, but i expected it to be much more.
Fr koreans will chase joey until he apologize, they're so dramatic. Just bcs korea is trending these days, doesn't mean that everybody acknowledge their culture or products
and id be with him 100 percent these fancy ass extra resturaunts look like shit to me. id eat all this food and still be hungry and be out hundreds of dollars for what?
I used to go to a bar that was somewhat secret. It was a very old cold war/spy theme. The building was disguised as a Furniture store Specifically named "International Exports unl." which is also the fake company that James Bond "worked" for. They built a fake furniture store, full of furniture, and a fake deli that you could use as a secret entrance, if you were a member. There was nothing on the outside that indicated that it was a Bar/restaurant. When you enter the "reception room" you had to give the attendant a password, or they would make you perform in some way, and that video would be shown to everyone inside the restaurant. I also had a secret exit inside a Phone booth.
It's located in Milwaukee WI. Was built some time in the 1960s. During the peak of the cold war, they even have a large peice of the Burlin wall. There are videos of it on RUclips. Just look up ”Safe house bar"
Gochujang is Korean, but the rest of the vid more than makes up for the lil' thing. I can't see myself in a fancy restaurant with just small servings, but getting to see Joey & Aki enjoy it makes me appreciate just watching others experience it.
@@drakex241 do you think the good ones are only wagyu? There are far more better steaks than that full of fat, steak. It also depends on how it’s cooked. I have never heard anyone saying steak tastes like bread. I’ll keep eating delicious steaks for the rest of my life while you eat your bread with salt and pepper.
You know what's funny. This is a really relaxing and a more formal format than some of Joeys other videos, I kinda forgot who I was watching, but then his profile dead center of the screen of him just deepthroating a chocolate shlong brought me back. And that's why I love this channel :)
I really enjoy Joey's vlog contents. Something so peaceful and casual, almost like the podcast (casual chat between 3 friends) Edit: Yooo, Joey went back on his word and finally admitted steak isn't mid hahaha
For me as Person who also works in a higher class Restaurant, its so awesome to see how much they are enjoying their Meal :D. Its quite normal to get some Sorbet before the Main course to have a small, refreshing break before a heavy dish. This Restaurant looks amazing ! I hope I can visit it too in the Future.
Dude, my wife and I celebrated our 8th anniversary here thanks to your video. Exact same meal. Mecha kucha superb. My wife keeps sharing the pics with others. Thanks!
I thought the three pieces of meat (with the tongue) were the main course already. But it just never ended hahaha Looks really cool! Must be such a nice experience. I feel like this is the right mix of interesting/fascinating, without being stuck up. The fact that Joey could go there in a tshirt and the vibe wasn't like they were in a palace makes this place instantly more chill.
Call me shocked because I assumed I was already subscribed... thanks for reminding me to subscribe. Fabulous dining experience! Thanks for sharing it with us.
4:01 Glad to hear the yakiniku (grilled meat) tongue was really good because so many of these deconstructed insane food fine dining restaurants serve bizarre garbage that tastes bad.
I really enjoy fine dining and I enjoy watching other people eat it too! You have some reasonably priced Michelin-starred restaurants there in Tokyo too, I'm thinking some of the soba places, it would be good to give those a try as well.
Compare to the normal too overpriced stuffs you get at some fine diner. This restaurant actually give you the bang for the bucks with the amount of works put into each dish. Honestly, 130$ per person is quite reasonable price too cause you don't have to care about Tips in Japan.
Great video Joey, you’re always a good source to learn something new from and watch for entertainment. But 5:04 man that hurt to hear as a fellow Korean.
ALL of that food looked so beautiful! And I agree with you Joey on the reasoning behind the small portion size. I wonder though, even though the portions were this size did you both feel full afterwards?
Thanks for showing us the meal!! It looks amazing. 🍽😁 Joey learned that steak isn't mid, Garnt learned that not all bread tastes the same... so Connor 👀. I find all the comments about gochujang funny 'cause they were in Korea not that long ago lol.
Had to give it to the waitress. I had to subscribe! Love these small experience videos. Can't wait to go back to Japan in December, some of the best service and food in the world
Everyone talking about gochujang y'all need to remember joey just talks out his ass sometimes but with confidence. It appears he knows what hes talking about but hes been wrong so many times.
The fact that we are seeing this video is enough for me to know that you were if fact not killed inside that restaurant. All I could think about while watching is this looks straight up coming out of "The Menu" movie
Iv had talks about the plate sizes and portions at hyper fancy restaurants before. It mostly comes down to the food being incredibly rich and dense, so with multiple courses you end up being very full and you end up burnt out on strong flavors/oils/textures. Iv been to a few high end course menus and i can see this being fairly true. Iv never left one hungry but i have left pretty tired by the end.
Geez, fancy. The fact that they basically did food art on that platter at the end was really cool. An interactive sort of experience through the whole thing as well. Very cool.
Have you ever been to hachigatsu no kujira in Shinjuku ? They make drinks themed after movies. I haven't been post COVID, but it was a good time back in the day.
The thing about pineapples is right btw. That tingly feeling on your tongue when you eat a lot of pineapple? That is basically the pineapple digesting you.
Well this one makes sense on the small portions cause Joey said he was getting full near the end so if they did normal portion size you wouldn’t be able to eat everything in the meal.
yeah, they do that because typically the meat is more high-end, meaning more fatty, so if they give you more you wont finish it. it actually does fill you up because of that.
From what I know about those types of restaurants, you usually go there for a full course meal. It may seem like they're stingy, but they want you to taste everything so that's why they make it so small. By the end of it you've had so many small bites that you're full
and we never saw joey and aki again.... i have seen "the menu"... hahaha and the burger at the end... very cute. So yeah it was "the menu" themed then.
But lots of courses so cumulatively it adds up to a decent amount of food. The most I have had at a fine dining restaurant is 17 courses - there is no way you'd want each of those to be a plateful!
The fact that this made Joey rescind his stance on steaks makes me want to dine here, never mind the language barrier and likely insane price
I was curious so i looked up their prices, it's honestly not that bad considering the presentation and quality. Around 130$ for a full menu similar to what they had (per person). Still a lot of money, but i expected it to be much more.
