The way they describe how the ramen tastes, it reminds me of the one time my mom accidentally made a dangerously spicy stew. It was so good that we just kept eating it and went with through two gallons of milk.
Unfortunately we couldn’t finish it.
This man is insane. First he did this crazy challenge, then got boosted, then had a sleepless night bc of the booster, then went on a 24h stream and THEN also ate a whole ass ghost pepper. Applause to Joey for still being alive after all of this! 👏👏

I love really spicy food but a lot of it tastes like garbage. It's not food meant to be eaten it's just food to hurt people. I really appreciate it when it actually tastes good.

used to go there a lot whenever I had time since I love going to look for old japanese music magazines and stuff inside Broadway but that shop was permanently closed due to covid I guess … it’s really a whole different kind of experience being there than other popular tourist areas. Think the same goes for Koenjikita and Shimokita for vintage toys / clothings…
The plain rice is there for you to consume plainly as it helps to alleviate the spiciness, not dip in the broth and make it worse to yourself 🤣🤣🤣

idk, I feel like putting the rice in what is left of the broth might make it easier for me to shovel it down, but really could go either way

I always add plain white rice to leftover spicy broth when it’s too much . Instantly makes it less spicy

I actually used to go to school in Nakano! Funny story: when my school first opened up a campus in Nakano my friends and I were looking for something to eat after class one night and found this Chinese restaurant. My friends I was with were from Taiwan and Hong Kong and the owner of the restaurant was so happy to have customers who spoke Chinese that he kept bringing us free food and alcohol. We actually ended up giving him way more money than he charged us because we felt bad for how much free food he kept giving us, lol.
That's super cool! I hope they're still open, or at least happy and doing well whatever they're up to now.

For people who haven't experienced super spicy stuff, it really is suffering. I had a table spoon of 400 000 scoville hot sauce by itself, and I think I drank 3 litres of milk interspersed with throwing up afterwards. Shit's intense
I have a hot sauce that's 1mil scoville I use regularly. It's just something you get used to but I ate a lot of spicy food growing up.
I have chips with around 400k but you get used to eating them
It's very different and not really comparible tbh. Something that taste nice will 100% be easier to eat than something that's just pure spiciness. A dish can be so spicy that it ruins the taste of the dish. It makes me lose my appetite.

It's one of them most basic camera techniques you can do since it's pretty simple. It's just zooming in/out while getting closer/further away. It's used in so many movies coz it looks cool and is super disorienting

The "it hurts so bad but tastes so good" part is so true. A Mexican restaurant that used to be open before *the situation* made these "suicide burritos". They were super spicy and absolutely ruined you for the next few days but they tasted so freaking good you just couldn't help it.
It's interesting to see the Japanese version of a classic Chinese spicy tan tan noodle. Sometimes it is actually made less soupy and more saucy which to me is worst because the spicy sauce is thicker so it clings more. But man, I want to try this version - it looks so good. 🤤
