This was such a fun idea for a challenge. Absolutely loved it. I love that we’re seeing Ryotaro more recently. You have successfully left me famished with an unquenchable craving for sushi. And we don’t have a single conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Connecticut, USA.

Hats off to the manager, standing there for the whole meal to tell us what's on the list. We have similar conveyer belt sushi places in soCal with little clear domes over the plates. I wonder if Sushiro normally does the same when not filming. Me, no matter what else I get I always get unagi and takoyaki (as a side dish) whenever I go out for sushi. Kind of surprised it didn't make the side dish list. Those desserts looks great too.
I went to the Sushiro at the Dubai Expo last year. Very weird experience - they'd effectively transplanted one of their stores, fittings, staff and all into the middle of the desert. When you walked in you might just as well have been in Tokyo, everything was precisely as it is in one of their Japanese restaurants.
Wow! This looks like a really nice place to check out when I finally arrive in Japan. Thanks for the suggestion, Chris and Ryotaro! Here's to another food challenge!!
What great timing! I've been living in Tokyo for about 5 months now, but I've been slowly welling up the courage to try sushi for the first time (coming from inland US, raw fish isn't something I've really had the strength to try). I also had no idea what to order or what kind of chain I could go to. It's really nice to get a display of what kind of options to expect, and even that there's alternatives like grilled salmon and hamburger if I need to fall back on something cooked to help work my way into eating more types of raw fish!
Hello Chris, congratulations on your engagement with Sharla! I wish you both all the best and encourage you to continue creating great content. Your work is truly appreciated. Keep up the good work!
There aren't many authentic Japanese/sushi restaurants near where I live, but I love negitoro and interestingly enough, once I ate a vegetarian cucumber sushi and it was actually really good. Looking forward to eating fresh sushi when I come to Japan, conveyer belt sushi has always intrigued me
I love how an English and a Japanese man are sitting trying different sushi together in front of "the whole world". Might seem quite unsurprising nowadays, but it shows how much more connected the world is, in several ways. Transportation, language, communication technologies. We've come a long way.
That tuna set that Chris bought for about 12 bucks would've ran him at least $100 or more in NYC.. and at a basic restaurant.. my sushi envy is high watching this rn 🤤
What a great video! Thanks Chris - and it's great to see Ryotaro again too. I love sushi, but there's still a heck of a lot of people living under the delusion that it automatically means raw fish (even when I tell them they're talking twaddle). We have a lovely sushi restaurant here in Sheffield and my favourite, although they seemed to have taken it off their menu now, is an inari that had fish eggs marinaded in yuzu juice, and soft shell crab uramaki. I haven't found any I don't like yet and I'm willing to try anything at least once.
I was in Japan last month and went to Sushiro! I'm not even a fan of raw fish so I don't eat sushi normally but there were so many options for me, that shrimp tempura one was my favorite!
While I'm not a big sushi fan, seeing all these different meals and sorts really make me wanna try it out. Also, it always makes me smile to know that if there's a food episode with Ryotaro, you will nudge elbows! The times you haven't could be counted on one hand, methinks.
My favorite pickled Saba. Loved this video and the manager who was having a jolly good time. Great to see you two back together again, Cheers and Bon Appetite, Muffy from Oz.
After so long I see Chris and the most wanted man of Japan. I sorta missed old school Japanese cultural videos feels like peak of abroad in Japan I hope Chris you explore again to the old roots it’s entertaining and educational.
The timing of this video is interesting… Just a few weeks ago, there was a shocking incident where some jerks uploaded videos of themselves licking the soy sauce dispensers and just generally behaving in an unhygienic manner in another SushiRo restaurant. Initial public reaction was for people to freak out and stop going out for sushi (as much), but since then many others have been showing their support for the industry by eating going out for sushi even more - especially to SushiRo since they got hit the worst image-wise. So I’m wondering if the timing of this video is just coincidental, or are Chris and Ryotaro making a statement and Standing in Soidarity with Sushi?
Looking at the newspapers in Japan, I already asked myself: Who in their right mind would lick all the utensils and cups at Sushiro... and then this video pops up. Risottoro the fiend strikes again!
This is what I thought about when I saw the bottle for soy sauce. I guess they want to help out the image of the conveyor sushi places which is good! People shouldn't let a few bad customers ruin conveyor sushi for them.
Yes! Abroad in Japan is back with one of my fav duo...prob my fav, natsuki is always in my heart but ryotaro fits better when ur out eating! MORE OF THIS!
The timing of this has to be in relation to all the sushiro controversy in Japan right now. good on them for getting sushiro all the help they need right now
Finally, a sequel to the internationally acclaimed "trying EVERY fried Chicken" and its equally acclaimed sequel "trying EVERY Japanese Chip". The trilogy is complete.
Ryotaro has to have lived in the UK when he's dropping "Ya know what I mean" in to the convo, haha and I love how the manager how into the scoring as it went on
I was noticing a pattern of yellow plates in the top ten. Makes sense that the cheap stuff goes the fastest. But, there was one red plate at the bottom of the list.
Thanks for the content as always Chris, heading to Japan finally in May!! As someone who doesn't eat meat or fish, I think I'd go for the tamagoyaki- wondering whether it usually has dashi in it or not??
Yes it would have dashi inside. The one served in Sushiro also has mackerel inside it. At Sushiro there will be some amount of meat/fish in almost every dish. Either there are in the ingredients or are made in the same factory line as those ingredients. Source: Allergy List, Sushiro (Japanese) As long as you stick to the big cities, vegetarian options wouldn't be hard to find. I would highly suggest to plan/research ahead of your trip.

It's really nice to get a display of what kind of options to expect, and even that there's alternatives like grilled salmon and hamburger if I need to fall back on something cooked to help work my way into eating more types of raw fish!
There are lots of non-raw-fish options at sushiro and kura sushi! cooked fish, beef, pork, chicken! I recommend the grilled cheese pork!!!
Hello Chris, congratulations on your engagement with Sharla! I wish you both all the best and encourage you to continue creating great content. Your work is truly appreciated. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Chris for providing quality entertainment for all these years! I love watching all of your adventures!
Yummy! You guys eating sushi and having fun puts a smile on my face. Excellent fellas.
There aren't many authentic Japanese/sushi restaurants near where I live, but I love negitoro and interestingly enough, once I ate a vegetarian cucumber sushi and it was actually really good. Looking forward to eating fresh sushi when I come to Japan, conveyer belt sushi has always intrigued me
its the best when you dont speak japanese
Sushi is just the rice. It doesn't have to contain fish to be sushi. Therefore no need to say it's a "vegetarian take on sushi."
I love how an English and a Japanese man are sitting trying different sushi together in front of "the whole world". Might seem quite unsurprising nowadays, but it shows how much more connected the world is, in several ways. Transportation, language, communication technologies. We've come a long way.
it's so interesting to see and learn about the different types!! so impressed with the amount you guys got right
No idea how you both ate so much, i was getting full just watching xD I really wanna visit Japan so bad
Urgh this is so nostalgic. When I studied in Japan I ate at sushiro way more than could be considered sane. I need to go back asap
Everything looked amazing 😍 Can't wait to try it someday! Thanks for the awesome content!
@@danielfisher417 Well, thanks for clearing that up. 🍻
Or paid
I hope they reconsider and just ban that stupid kid...
The timing is just perfect.
well this is a paod advertisement, so you can imagine they aremt allowed to give their full opinions here and have to say things are good
Yeah, the chawanmushi. It's the dish I always get to finish my meal whenever I'm at a kaiten sushi restaurant. Love that thing.
Nakaoka-san is a real showman, if he ever wants to get out of the sushi business, he should become a gameshow host
You look fantastically happy 🥰Congrats to you and Sharla
Looking at the newspapers in Japan, I already asked myself: Who in their right mind would lick all the utensils and cups at Sushiro... and then this video pops up. Risottoro the fiend strikes again!
This is what I thought about when I saw the bottle for soy sauce. I guess they want to help out the image of the conveyor sushi places which is good! People shouldn't let a few bad customers ruin conveyor sushi for them.
All the colabs and food videos, and they still sit so that they bump arms together 🤣🤣
Love this video - entertaining and informative!
Yes! Abroad in Japan is back with one of my fav duo...prob my fav, natsuki is always in my heart but ryotaro fits better when ur out eating!
MORE OF THIS!
Loved the manager! Thank you for the video guys this is fun!
You can never go wrong with Ryotaro.
Ahhhh, the classic dynamic duo. Really love watching this two gentlemen. I hope to see more both of them.
It's a law of nature that Chris not gonna win a single food contest in his entire life.
I don’t know what it is, but these videos make me feel so good. So homely. I’m definitely visiting Japan in the near future!
Never underestimate how filling sushi can be 😅 Eating that much is an incredible feat 😅❤
I went here so often last week and loved it! great video guys!
It's so nice to see Ryotoro in videos again 🙌🏾
He has his own channel you know!
@@Pwnopolis Yep, I know. I just meant in this channel. It always fun to watch videos when they collobarate.
Ryotaro has to have lived in the UK when he's dropping "Ya know what I mean" in to the convo, haha and I love how the manager how into the scoring as it went on
At least Chris and Ryotaro are having fun eating sushi in this video
Salivating here 😍 this is absolutely going on my bucket list.
I was noticing a pattern of yellow plates in the top ten. Makes sense that the cheap stuff goes the fastest. But, there was one red plate at the bottom of the list.
Ryotaro dressed sharp casual - bonus points.
Thank you for restoring Sushiro's honor by posting a video despite the incident involving a young man in there 🙏🏼🥹
This video is only getting to the west now. Dirty little brute has killed the whole industry.
What happened?
@@sharpayme some dickhead customer was licking nigiri and filmed it. The event went viral and really hurt Sushiro's reputation
@@sharpayme young man licked the sushi before putting it back on the conveyor belt, causing a shut down to one of the sushi places
He also licked the opening of the soy sauce bottle
Sushiro is sounding out to all influencers to help them rebound the business
Congrats to you and Sharla on your engagement! Valentine's Day announcement was great news for us all to see 💘💍👏
Perfect for lunch break!
Yeah and perfect Lunch for dinner
Another video! That boxing match really did take its toll. No but seriously, great job the videos they always cheer me up.
I am so going to sushiro in 3 weeks! Thx for the amazing video!
that tamagoyaki looks so damn good
and the manager looks like he definitely enjoyed his job
Great one Chris, every time I watch this video, I go to Sushi-ro the next day. I've watched this video 3 times already.
Source: Allergy List, Sushiro (Japanese)
As long as you stick to the big cities, vegetarian options wouldn't be hard to find. I would highly suggest to plan/research ahead of your trip.
