I melted a few ships and upgraded my MSR to this. Being able to load up this ship with supplies stay out in the void to mine and refine, makes this ship a no brainier. I also like the idea of outpost support.
Congrats on your pickup, the Arrastra is such a fantastic ship! And I think combining a bunch of smaller ships into this will give you a lot more moneymaking potential (to then rebuy those later)! And I can’t wait for base building, it’s honestly going to change up the entire game!
@@timsgtaYep. I have a few ships and I do not fly the MSR that often. The 2 ships I melted was a Prospector and a Zues. The Zues had an A1 loaner. I tried the bombing feature and found it is not for me. The loaners for an Arrastra are, a Mole and a Prospector. I have flown the Mole more often as I consider it training for the Arrastra. I also expect a price increase on this ship.
The Arrastra is aesthetically the best designed ship CIG has conceived, so far, unlike the Polaris/Perseus is sleek and current, taking on board the new flair in design, as apposed to tarting up the old guard. Have one....might even buy another, also have the Odyssey, which will have a more diverse role.
Tons of moneymaking potential with the entire means of production to extract, refine, store and sell? Honestly its the first thing that’s gotten me excited to pick up mining haha
@@ViciDeum 💯, it’s the first mining ship I’ve actually Pledged for. Even if NPC crew doesn’t cut it I look forward to bringing players on board to experience this ship one day.
The Arrastra really is looking like a phenomenal mining ship. As someone that got an Orion a long time ago, i look at this and actually think its the best mining ship CIG has designed so far. I don't intend on melting the mining platform for it, but i will absolutely be earning one in game for planet side mining ops. Edit: Spellimgs
just got a 2nd friend to start in the vers, and have this in my hanger (standalone LTI). This might end up being a fun ship for some interesting days or just money making chill ones.
I got it lti standalone as well. MR package from 10 years ago as well. I’m not a pure miner player, so the Orion seems too much. But Lti and what you get with this ship, perfect for stepping away from pvp/pve/fps and going into dangerous space to mine rare minerals or just mine nice credits even in safer space.
CIG is hiring, you’de fit well with Marketing. Lacking any Medical Facilities, Arrastra is a great medical ship in a pinch? Exactly which features make Arrastra an “Explorer”? Use cases 3,2, and 1 make sense, neither 5 nor 4 make any sense at all.
If nursing doesn't work out, I just may haha. But I think a ship can multi role even in limited ways without every piece of specialized kit for that niche!
It would be gold if a C8R fitted into the cargo bay, i dont think it will be the case sadly. But it can be supported by a Carrack, that can serve as a med station and also double the cargo capacity, also having a snub to scout ahead for possible nodes. As all other big ships im mostly concearned with the engineering breakdown of parts and the possible hassle of constant repair needed, i hope they balance it right.
That would be awesome, but sadly I think you're right! And keeping in mind the logistics/engineering on these big ships is definitely going to be a big part of gameplay in the future; it's smart you're already considering it now!
As far as i know prospector and mole, thats what I received, I owned a mole in game prior to purchasing to cant verify that, but the website states mole and prospector
Cool ship, but I imagine not for the solo roller. Maybe one day you can “hire” an AI crew. Of course people will bitch about that. Could be okay though. Just window shopping for me though.

This video is stellar, per usual! Thanks for the thorough, thoughtful review 🔥🔥
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed this!

I would love to get the Arrastra because this ship would be a great changing. Seriously you made an amazing video !
It's such an awesome mining platform and will be a ton of fun for any crew! And thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed this!
Good job!

A few others have said it but this is a no brainer ship.

CIG just keeps nailing it with these latest ship designs! And I think you might be right, this could be the best mining ship they've developed so far!

Just wait for the medical Ursa, I´m pretty sure they are supposed to fit inside.

What ship is this? When did this debut??? Is it in the game yet?
This is the Arrastra, but sadly it’s still a concept!
To my knowledge this ship isn't out yet so if i pledge it what loaner ship do you get or do you just not get one?
As far as i know prospector and mole, thats what I received, I owned a mole in game prior to purchasing to cant verify that, but the website states mole and prospector
Yep Prospector + Mole.
With any concept ship you'll get loaners to use in the interim; the Prospector and Mole for the Arrastra!
I want one of these so bad, the cost is way too high for regular spending for someone in my position 😢.
Thankfully you'll be able to earn one in game, and I'm sure you'll have lots of opportunities crewing one before then!
I've been solo mining in a MOLE and this ship would make it so much easier.
You just need a few crew and you're in business!

Definitely a ship that benefits from a crew, but also a pass from me atm as well!
mine was $325, so it was an easy choice for me to get a MOLE and prospector until it's released.
How'd you get it that cheap?
@@fivefive6 ccu game and I bought hull C ccus for the original value before they jacked it up.
@@fivefive6 i got it for $259,50.... look for the "CCU GAME" chaining warbond upgrades can save you big
@@fivefive6 CCU chaining. Buying the cheaper Warbond versions makes those savings possible.
@@TheVkaschuba I ccu chain all the time, but cheapest I saw the Arrastra go during IAE was the mid 400's.
Don't forget, as soon as a few people made good money with it, it'll get nerfed... right after everybody got one.
They do tend to trial new ships with good moneymaking at the start, but everything will have its proper balance in the end!
@@ViciDeum Hopefully it doesn't take eternity to achieve that. I figured I'd need the Arrastra to earn the components for my barebones Endeavor...
The ship isn't even in game yet.
That's true, but I still enjoy speculating on its uses!
