    You usually see glitched ships only when looking for good looking designs, but this one is really really well done even if it’s vanilla. Love the design.

    Not sure if you knew but you don’t have to listen to the recordings in the vanguard orientation hall. Just run through and make sure to press all the buttons and you’ll get full credit “for preparation and thoroughness” as Moara says.

    Didn't even know that flying the Mantis would give you these speech options lol. The problem IMO is that this game favors flying a single jack-of-all-trades ship vs specializing. There's little use for dedicated fighting or cargo vessels when a single teched-out high-tier ship will get you there as well.

    Always Great! I have adopted many of your techniques 😊 when using EM, which are the Best? and drop which of these 3 Particle weapons? I think its drop PBOs and add the Class B Nullifirer 1750... ?

    in my current universe, my mantis quest is bugged. I have two copies of the 'Secret Hideout' or whatever the slate is called. I'm at the point where it says to read the slate. I do, and the quest doesn't update. oh well, maybe next universe i'll try again. I've done the mantis so many times, and made similarly powerful ships out of it. It is fun to see those interactions.

    Love this! Will boost the cargo with skill points and perks. I am however, having a hard time seeing how I will ever board a ship again. With all that firepower, it will be hard not to blow it out of space…. I might consider replacing the third type of weapon system with the best suppressors. What is an estimate of overall cost to this design?

      Or you put a non automatic ray on the top, so that you don't spam and destroy the ship but you use it to disable the engines 🤓

    The adversary repellant feature of the Manta ship upgraded or not means less enemy to fight, less experience, less bounty etc. If you want to avoid most fights then by all means fly the pacifist Manta ship.

    did I miss the fuel tank\tanks became I have built a ship or two , I am not that good at ship building at all, and I had great reactor and other things but I didn't change out the fuel tanks which made it my ship not able to jump across the whole area which really disappointed me because I was having huge issues building with piles of errors then when I finally got it all together ( real time hours and hours lol) I couldn't jump across the whole map because of lack of fuel very discouraged I stopped playing for a while , not I jumped on and am in newgameplus 2 I dont like the star born ship, so I will grab the mantis and upgrade hehe I am curious how much cargo space

    in terms of weapons , what would the ideal set up be for auto turrets? will the damage be the same ...... i feel like auto turrets are heavier as i can nt get the same damage out put

      You can get great damage output from particle beam turrets, but I wouldn’t bother with ballistic or laser turrets. That is because ballistic weapons don’t do much damage to shields, but the turret doesn’t know this, and will still fire at an enemy ship and waste ammo that isn’t doing much damage until their shields are depleted. The inverse is true for lasers, they primarily damage shields but don’t do much damage to hull. Particle beams damage both equally, so if you equip turrets, they should be particle beams, as the turrets will fire regardless.
      The other aspect about turrets is that it can be advantageous to place them facing in different cardinal directions, so your blind spots are covered. However, this also limits the amount of focused damage output you can deal on a single target at one time, as the turrets can only cover about 90 degrees (they cannot turn a full 360 degrees). It’s a trade-off. I find turrets are better for slower ships with C Class engines, and/or ships with low mobility, as your ability to dogfight is limited by your engine performance so having side and back coverage is a good idea. For a fast and mobile ship, being able to focus all of your damage output on a single target eliminates them so much quicker. Plus, you are in control of when the weapons fire, so if an enemy boosts away and your weapons lose their target lock, you either stop firing to not waste ammo (turrets keep firing but miss), or if you’re good enough you can manually aim and still hit your target.

      Obliterator 250MeV Alpha Turret
      PBO-300 Auto Alpha Turret
      PBO-100 Auto Neutron Turret
      Eradicator 75MeV Auto Neutron Turret

    Nice build! With no points to expand ship crew size what is the optimum members? I have engine and shield skills maxed out so far on my character.

      Great question!
      The best crew only requires 4 crew spaces, depending on your ship’s weapons. For a ship with all particle beams, Barrett gives those a boost. Otherwise, you may want to either swap out Barrett for someone else that gives other weapons types a bump, or add an additional crew member.
      -Sam for a boost to top speed, an extra engine power point, and his payloads skill
      -Omari for extra shield power point
      -Andromeda or Vasco for an extra reactor power point (you only get the boost from one, not both, and Vasco is glitchy and gets in the way a lot, so I’d recommend Andromeda)
      Barrett for a boost to particle beams
      (you can also add Sarah for her Astrodynamics skill which reduces your fuel consumption, but you probably don’t need it if your own character’s skill is maxed, and you don’t want to listen to her complain all the time. She doesn’t count against crew space because of her Leadship skill though, so she kinda doesn’t count).

    And you can’t have only one weapon type on the build. It physically will not let you put all the vanguard weapons onto the 3 different slots.

    Can you please go over how to get crafting stations in the ship. I’ve tried all the differet habs. I’ve looked up on RUclips. Every time I build a ship with what is supposed to be the proper units crafting stations are never on my ship when I’m done.

      That is very odd. Just to confirm: have you tried placing the Workshop Hab? The Workshop Hab has the crafting stations, at least until the most recent May Update is released (for Xbox players), at which point you could also place crafting stations in any Hab using the new Decorate mode.

    I would prefer to keep Class A, because of a posible Speed of 150! AT Level 43 you can get a Class A Reactor mit 31 or 33 Power. Then IT is for me the best ship. But anyway, IT makes fun, Real fun😊

      A B class under 1000 with 4 3015 engines goes 180 and has 100 mobility. B is the sleeper class that outperforms A and C class ships

    A good improvement, but I don’t see the practical use of a ship without a cargo compartment for no less than 5000. Unless it’s just for the picture. To make it convenient to play, the cargo compartment needs 10,000

    I have a question. I've got 15 beacons set up close to ship landing sites on level 60 and over planets. However I only have starborn ships landing. Is this a glitch?

      They broke, or turned off ship landings in one of the patches. It's suppose to be fixed in the latest beta (on steam now).

    Are you enjoying the new difficulty modifiers? The devs putting the XP gains next to each one in the settings is genius in my opinion. I love now having a 51% XP boost but man afflictions are a serious problem now lol.

      @@ShipTechnician same here. It’s gotten me totally re-obsessed into the game. You may have mentioned this before but I haven’t really seen anyone talk about it in a video - the throttle meter on the ship HUD when you’re flying, the lower left hand corner has that sliding bar that shows how much throttle you’re giving your ship, and in the middle of the meter there’s a thicker white bar that shows where your thrust should be to give you optimum turning radius. I’ve tested it with my most and least maneuverable ships and it’s a useful thing to pay attention to because you can definitely turn much more tightly in a super massive ship if you keep your throttle in the middle of that white bar. I’m always tempted to keep my throttle mashed down but that’s usually what costs me my turning radius.

    I think they nerfed the Vanguard Obliterator Autocannon. Mine are just 11 damage instead of 20 as shown in the video. Unless it has to do with a skill perk, which is possible, but all the other stats match the video for me. 🤷🏻‍♂️
    It’s not the end of the world, as the ship is still super OP, but nerfs always annoy me. 🙄

      That’s a good question…have you leveled up your tech skill tree? Another thing to check may be what crew you have assigned and if that impacts the stat box displayed?

    Would you be feared you do understand don’t do that NBC’s are just bad sometimes well sometimes badly program computer routines they don’t have emotion. They don’t fear you and there are no other players so you’re not feared by anybody no matter what and unless I’m mistaken isn’t this game mostly a fast travel related safe travel what exactly do you do in space that part? Do you need this hyper powerful ship

      Good question. Class C does not mean best. Class A does not mean worst.
      Class A engines are the fastest in the game. Class C engines are the slowest. This has a meaningful difference in combat. Further, what many think are some of the best engines in the game, the Class C SAL-6830s, actually have trouble overcoming their own high mass and therefore are outperformed, pound-per-pound by many Class A and Class B engines.       Even further, the Vanguard Obliterator Autoprojector particle beam weapons are Class A and are some of the best weapons in the game.

      They can be a pain as you increase your ship’s mass, absolutely. For this build, I kept things as lightweight as possible to get top flight performance, but around the 18:37 mark I very briefly touch on swapping out the initial landing gear for some with more Landing Thrust.
      I don’t go deep into landing gear in this video, but do have a separate guide where I discuss them further: ruclips.net/video/PW7ErWSrGQs/видео.html
      The primary stat for landing gear is their Landing Thrust. As with most things, the more the better. The maximum you can find in the game is 4 Landing Thrust per landing gear, and a basic rule of thumb is you need 1 Landing Thrust per 200 Mass, rounding up.
