Destroy the drill and you get components from the drill or get through the door and get the look and get again useful cargo.
I’ve got a Kraken, Idris, and Polaris and still only got a large hangar. So they definitely base it off of current flyable ships… which I think they based it off of my Carrack.
14:18 I see the missing buildings/textures glitch below the Hurston Dynamics HQ building has still never been fixed: only occurs at mid to high altitudes. I reported to the Issue Council a couple of times last year but not enough confirmations to get it looked at. :(
One thing that drawing attention to hauling missions has really pointed out that we are lacking our controls for tractor beams. On the vehicle tractor beam, you can only bind single press buttons to move further away or pull closer, and you can't hold them down either. You have to repeatedly tap them. I'm hoping that maybe the atls is the sign of different control schemes to come.
Leave it to Star Citizen to find a way to make the random scroll wheel on my VIRPIL left stick actually useful. Still painful, but not as bad as wailing on a button over and over.
On my Connie's tractor beam i just hold down "Alt" then as i am holding "Alt" i use my mouse scroll wheel to move boxes/cargo away or pull. i do not repeat tap anything.
Pro tip: You can take out and put in SCU crates with the inventory kiosks... I figured this out last night. I was doing this with the 1 SCU boxes. Not sure if this was intended, but it is a shortcut if you don't want to use the freight elevator.
The best feature of this patch is actually in bunkers, those 9 tails finally lost infinite spawn, with limited head count now bunker missions have become doable for most players.
One thing I would like them to add to hauling missions is the pickup and destination put into the title. Like "Seraphim - Cru L4" at the end of the title. Or at least the pickup location, since there could be multiple dropoffs
I hope they eventually make it so that multiple ships can be spawned at the same time on a single hangar lift so long as they fit together on the lift. Would make spawning small stuff extremely quick!
What would be really interesting if CIG could find a way to do it would be to add an on-time bonus for the hauling contracts so if you get really good and are able to deliver before a specific deadline or time limit that you would be able to get a bonus, Dustin, incentivizing, smooth and quick handlers
When I first started playing this patch, I didn't realize that the inventory kiosks were a thing and I thought I had to pull everything through the freight elevator. Cut to a couple hours later, me doing a scavenger hunt around the elevator. Looking for the tractor beam batteries that I knocked down and elevator refuses to move while they're not actually locked to the grid.
Nice video. So far I like the update. The hauling missions paired perfectly with my love to salvage. Flying through the verse and finding abandoned ships to scrap is perfect. After that you can now store the goods on one place before you load them on a bigger ship and sell them. I love it so far. Really excited about the mech
I wanna be able to sneak through a vent or maintenance tunnel of some sort, get into a random hangar, and sneak onto a player's ship. That's the type of thing I'm hoping for in the future. 😩
Excellent summary video! This patch has left me cautiously optimistic again, looking forward to 4.0! I’m not sure I’d call the current inventory system a ‘paper doll’, though. A paper doll style inventory would be much more useful than the 3D one they currently have. It’s awkward, like decorating a Christmas tree ;)
2:25 - There was also a massive exploit with it that allowed players to just steal inventory from others without the victim realizing and it looked as if the a bug just vanished it. It was reported early, but since CIG never fixed it up until just adding the old system; its a fair assumption that it was not an easy fix. it might come back later, IMO.
Honestly, I’m just excited to have hauling missions; I’ve always been bad at combat missions and package delivery always felt lacklustre, so space trucking may become my new go-to X)
I like this patch, very cool to see inventory physicalized further. Obviously server meshing is a big deal so I'm hyped for 4.0. I just want to feel some of the performance increase that is possible

I would like them to add a few more land vehicles and maybe water vehicles to the game, some truck transporters or other heavy vehicles for other tasks that could be added and also more developed update 3.24, not only transport in space but also between colonies/cities on different planets. Even more to emphasize, you can add such small cities on moons with a small port. In my opinion, then it will look like a small colonization of planets and their moons in Star Citizen.?
Salute Morhologis, I play almost everyday, mostly in the day time US hours. I have taken much needed breaks from time to time, as should everyone. Love the updates, CIG is listening but they have a stone written plan. 4.0 will be a fantastic patch to live when the bugs start to clear and the gameplay takes over. Loose yourself in the role. Fantastic Vids, always well thought out and Super High Quality. Look forward to the next.
Pretty stable patch overall right now. After 4.0, I hope they do a "gameplay patch" and give us loops that want us to come back daily. Right now I feel like many of us come back, play the new patch and then leave cause there's really nothing to do. Hauling fake cargo for unknown NPCs that noone does anything with is useless. Give all this physicalized stuff MEANING.
I think they should implement some kind of welding system to placeable items or furniture so that a couch won't get tossed away by a stray impact unless you hit it with a vehicle or something HEAVY. also maybe a section with some kind of cargo-adjacent-grid for future items like weapon racks. Also it would be swell if they could use the cargo grid to install items like crafting machinery or stuff like spare capacitors for ship energy weapons that would be cool I think.
It needs handrails that raise and lower around that pit. I know it's just a game, but that would be a ginormous safety risk IRL. And I know that IRL aircraft carriers don't have any stinkin' handrails, but we're civilians, not highly regimented military people.
Now if only cargo handling and cargo elevators can be more consistently reliable. I can't even get started with moving cargo from the warehouse to my hangar
Every patch is important, and very cool additions, but I still wouldn't consider it in a playable state, which is a shame, as I can't enjoy these features properly, so I'm still waiting for meshing. Fingers-crossed it all works well. I hope that we will be able to buy expansions for the hangars later, to add new rooms, vehicle bays, and other hangar-based features. However, I never expect to be able to use it as a hab.
Definitely waiting for at least 4.0. The game needs to be stable and have some sort of progression. I am not a sandbox player that wants to create their own content. 3.24 changes were ok but not worth logging in for.
I hate the manually moving boxes with a hand-held tractor-beam. Not only is it tedious, moving things around with a hand-held tool that are much heavier than you is, for me, immersion breaking (my suspension of disbelief extends to the acceptance of tractor-beams being able to lift things and not just function axially). I would like to see forklift trucks, gantry crane-style heavy tractor-beams in hangars etc. in landing zones to facilitate loading of cargo.
I used my ships tractor beam to move boxes directly from the freight elevator right into my ships cargo hold (Connie) i did not have to use my handheld at all......
Here's hoping future patches add more enticing gameplay features. As it stands I am not particularly inspired to log back in again for the foreseeable...
Did a big comment that seemed to get lost in the ether. But overall the hauling system has some small but impactful flaws that hurt the experience quite a lot. From not only requiring specific size configurations for turn-ins but also having to be specific crates of that size which you don't know until unload and try to submit. Making multi-mission hauling an absolute pain. If I need to deliver 6scu total of stims, just take the 6scu I give. Having to figure out you need 4scu + 2scu let alone specific entities of those is tedious. Telling us the max SCU crate available for a mission is only somewhat helpful even though a ship can handle an 8scu crate doesn't mean it can handle eleven of them, but maybe it could handle eight 8scu and six 4scu. We really need the ability to use multiple mission filters such as location/destination, total SCU, max crate size, and item type. Also stop automatically sending me to the "accepted" tab after accepting each mission.
Their hanger system will never works. There is too few hangas per spaceports/stations. Imagine a spaceports/stations with 500 players on it and just 4 X-large hangars like today... How many hours will you need to wait to be allowed to take off ? They always have stupid ideas where you can straight up see the problems, but not them, they still go with it. I wonder how they can do it.

Give all this physicalized stuff MEANING.
great video, loved the comedy bits
I think they should implement some kind of welding system to placeable items or furniture so that a couch won't get tossed away by a stray impact unless you hit it with a vehicle or something HEAVY.
also maybe a section with some kind of cargo-adjacent-grid for future items like weapon racks.
Also it would be swell if they could use the cargo grid to install items like crafting machinery or stuff like spare capacitors for ship energy weapons that would be cool I think.
In the "furnishings" list, walls (with/without doors) should be available to create hallways outside the hanger access elevators?
Would be cool if you could own a large and a small hangar simultaneously so you can spawn small vehicles faster
Good job Morph
It needs handrails that raise and lower around that pit. I know it's just a game, but that would be a ginormous safety risk IRL. And I know that IRL aircraft carriers don't have any stinkin' handrails, but we're civilians, not highly regimented military people.
Excellent video thanks!
Watching paint dry missions are next
Great video. Im just waiting for server meshing to see if this game can actually be an MMO.
Yah!! Next gen inventory management. I'm sure it will never become tedious.
I’m excited for the new cargo stuff, mostly
"Freight elevators either corner regardless of the size you've been assigned" 6:47 Incorrect, small hangars only have 1 freight elevator
Now if only cargo handling and cargo elevators can be more consistently reliable. I can't even get started with moving cargo from the warehouse to my hangar
You can also find furniture in Kel-to.
lol this must have been in the making before the ATLS... that was definitely worth the point one to the patch!!
i hope they will add the second floor from the old hangar module
I am looking forward to some communication and also All elevators being fixed as they are Very broken at the moment.
Awesome content and game!
Correction: ETF patches never included vehicle spawning via freight elevator.
6:50 Except small. They only have one elevator but then it doesn't take a fully kitted ot exploration expedition to cross it like my XL does.
My favorite part was cargo being COMPLETELY broken
It looks soooo fabulous
Check seems to have finally cleared 😂
Not gonna lie, that synth went hard and I bobbed my head during the whole intro. What's the track name/artist???
Terrorize - Ava Low
@@En1gm4tic You, sir or madam, made my day. o7
Going to wait for 4
Every patch is important, and very cool additions, but I still wouldn't consider it in a playable state, which is a shame, as I can't enjoy these features properly, so I'm still waiting for meshing.
I think the best feature is I die a lot less on stairs and elevators. Pro tip: Don't put the couch under a ship ramp...
Good to see that SC's physics engine is still jankier than even the jankiest indie survival crafting game.
Too many collisions going on 💯
You almost can't put items in the hangar because your ship makes so much wind with its momentum that it's almost impossible to keep things in place.
I will wait for .1 patch, but then I plan to try it. Looks nice and I want to see if the MM are really that bad as spectrum made it out to be
Waiting for the RSI Zeus!!
You brought 'er. You blockade runner.
No limite time to be in hangar?
Their hanger system will never works.
There is too few hangas per spaceports/stations. Imagine a spaceports/stations with 500 players on it and just 4 X-large hangars like today... How many hours will you need to wait to be allowed to take off ? They always have stupid ideas where you can straight up see the problems, but not them, they still go with it. I wonder how they can do it.
first you need to have 500 player wanting to lift off at the same time with large hangar (basically so 2000, 2500 player ? will never happen)
