Ok, but it still would be neat if Spirit (and MSR) got a ladder and/or airlock and had its cockpit interior moved forward (and got its radar screen in front of the pilot), considering aclear example in Zeus that ship of Spirit's size apparently needs and can have both, contrary to what Q&A said... And also traded its unreasonably high HP for a meaningful difference in SCM speed.
@@marty2129 I think the crusader style at that size will just continue to be one entrance, seems intentional if annoying. Regarding the speed/HP I’m not sure what you mean. The Spirit has higher HP and speed, it’s trade off is shields, if that’s what you’re saying?
I agree with all your points. I loved the look of the Zeus and had decided to buy one but luckily I bought a CCU rather than the full ship as now I think I will be sticking with the C1. The main reason is that I am often flying solo and I am a trader that avoids combat and runs away. The Zeus with no gunner is a sitting duck. The C1 will easily carry 96SCU in 8, 16 or 32scu crates but if I am hauling and have to move more than 64scu scu in 8scu crates (as it always seems to packaged) then the Zeus will only fit 64SCU (same for FL Max) and even the MSR will only carry 72scu. You really should have demonstrated what the Zeus looks like when fully loaded :-) It fills the rear of the cargo bay completely and is wider than the door so loading and unloading is a nightmare. When everyone starts flying their CLs I would love to see what the average load will be. I am pretty sure that after the first month less than 1% will be 128scu loaded by hand.
Good points. We planned to fly and load up but as the video ended another ship opened fire on us to I ended it and scrambled lol. The twitch stream showed more.
Fair point with the loading, but the Zeus is not more vulnerable than the Spirit, their speeds are very similar and the Zeus actually has 3x the shields
@@igorborracini5722 Sorry man, disagree. 1/3 the armor and over 100m/s slower. HUGE difference in speed and armor. Also, running max shields takes so much power that you can’t fight back, so you’re likely not taking advantage of full shielding. GREAT looking ship, stoked it’s here, but the C1 is much more durable and faster. Hands down.
Debating on downsizing from my MSR as engineering has fuses in the tunnels and everywhere and it seems as the MSR will no longer be realistically solo. Heavily debating between these two ships as a main ship.
I have always said I would never melt my MSR but when I saw the Zeus design I thought I would have to change my mind. However, having flown both Zeus ships for the last week and practiced loading the CL (horrible) I know that the Zeus CL is not what it seemed. The CL is 200m/s slower in Nav plus it only has a 15,300 bubble shield while the MSR has a 56,100 quad shield which. apart from being a lot stronger, can have all that allocated to the rear shield while you run away and get into QT. Running away from trouble was what I bought the MSR for.
2:50 "and on the exterior..." transition to a freaking grey screen full of snow. Found it funny for some reason. I do have the C1 too and honestly I wonder if armor will be a big deal when you have 3x Shield generator instead of 1 in the C1... The top speed are a bit better but it's so insignificant it's like 200 vs 205 (something like that). Seeing how the Crusader brand is in the lore I always wandered why there isn't a medical variant for the Spirit.
lol yeah I should’ve edited out the storm I just wanted this done. Keep in mind that it’s hard to max power the shields on the Zeus. It’s almost 100 mps faster (C1). Both good ships, I prefer the Spirit.

The Zeus has a beautiful interior, though I have to admit that the exterior doesn't do as much for me. The armor on the C1 has legitimately saved me from griefers. I'll be keeping that C1 in my hanger for a long time.

I think I'll keep my C1 Spirit and get the Zeus ES just for fun. Now I'm trying to figure out if I should keep my Corsair or just get the Zeus ES with my Corsair credits.
Something lots of people miss with the cl is that you don't have to load it 100%. This is something I actually wish CIG did more since the player can decide if they want to haul a reasonable amount of cargo, or stuff it floor to ceiling, even if it's impractical. Also the zeus cl can hold 3, 32 scu containers very easily, (just like the spirit in 3.24.1), with some room to spare while providing a ladder to enter/leave without unloading. The main downside in terms of cargo for the cl is the narrow entry way and awkward tractor beam placement. Also the zeus has higher sustained dps which will come into play if you're fighting anything bigger than a fighter/size 2 ship, (in pve). I haven't checked speeds personally yet, but according to erkul, the c1 only really has an advantage in Nav speeds by around 15% ish, and better maneuverability. If you ever get attacked though the c1 will survive a lot longer.
I agree except I would mostly be solo and the Zeus flown solo only has a dps of 1640 versus the C1 with 2736. Even with someone in the turret, the dps of the CL is slightly less than the C1 and its alpha damage is less than half that of the C1. What I find it annoying though is that with the CL they took the stance 'This is really a 64-80scu ship but if you have the time and the patience, you can fill every inch of the cargo bay to get as much as 128scu' while with the C1 they said 'No. We said you could only have 64scu and you persisted in filling the center section as well so we have moved the grids inwards to stop you using that extra space.' :-D
I think CIG has to implement a feature that you can split Cargo container into smaller containers. This is a problem for many ships in the future i think. When the cargo of a contract is less then the ships capacity, it should fit in. I hope they do something about it. Also, they have to polish the grid thing or container to container. It is a pain in the ass, if you want to put a big container between to other big containers. I wish it would be smoother or more forgiving. Yes, you have to be a logistics guy and you have to know your ship and how you load the ship, in wich order for example. But thats not only a Zeus problem, its a common cargo problem :)
Having flown both the C1 and the Zeus CL for lots and lots of bounty missions, I have to disagree. The C1 has more Hull HP sure, but only a single shield, vs the Zeus which has 3. Not only that, the engines in the C1 are attached to the wings, and the wings are blown off SO EASILY. So yeah, shield-less, it will take more hits to the main body to soft kill the C1, but it OFTEN becomes useless much earlier in a fight. MRTs were a struggle in the C1. In the Zeus I havent had much trouble at all in VHRTs.
@ to be fair, pilot preference pays a big part here. For me I would argue that using either of these for bounty hunting is not the right call, neither of these is a combat ship. However, it is very tricky to have full power to the shields on a Zeus with the new distributor set up, so a Spirit with full pips to shields has higher resistances, if lower shield pool than a Zeus. It’s definitely a nuance decision if you are discussing purely combat.
