Great job from the standpoint that they were finally able to dislodge the line, but this was really frustrating to watch. None of these people give the appearance of any kind of training or veterinary knowledge. They also need a kit of specialized equipment, like a silicon padded oral retractor, an LED battery operated snake light, specialized hooks to get under tightly wrapped line, a fast acting topical to address infection (like a 10% iodine &saline solution,) and a thin mat (like a computer mouse pad) large enough to keep the seal from sinking and suffocating in the sand and to keep the sand from filling the seal's nostrils and mouth. Also, there should be some kind of training for these rescuers. Even though their hearts are in the right place, they really don't know what they are doing. The man who was trying to hook the line was terrified and kept backing off, and had no idea how to approach the problem. They should sew up toy seal, gather up some specialized equipment, and practice some different scenarios instead of the whole thing being OJT (on the job training). That poor seal should have been back in the water in under three minutes.
@@Brembelia I get what you're saying but this is an "on the job training" type of job. Where would you go for training for this? People would probably come to them for training!! I watched this again a year later, and it was still awful. Congratulations for sticking with it until the seal was freed of that entanglement. You guys have learned a lot since then, and you carry a sophisticated tool set with you. We all need to keep learning.
I think its important that you have these tough rescues to go through to learn more and more how to deal with any situation that occurs. I mean all of us here wants no entanglements at all of course but we are not there yet. And the next best thing for me is a super team which we have in OCN.
This was extremely painful to watch. I am glad you persevered and finally got the line off his mouth. I would like to believe he is now fully grown and frolicking in the sea.
This is by far the saddest rescue me and the wife have watched. We just hope the seal managed to heal and start eating. Well done Naude and team, top marks yet again.

What you do is tiring and difficult, and highlights the danger humans put wildlife into. This is a necessary video, and tbh I think you have a duty to show videos like this. Some things in life are difficult, but necessary.
How can the public at large help? Is there equipment we can supply or money we can give your organization. Ways to catch people who do this to the seals and give them some of the same treatment they have given these poor seals?

@@TheGuitarmanrh it's not that it wouldn't without a vet... it's that it needs STERILE. I would think after such a DEEP wound like this this attempt to sterilize the wound and stitch up what they possibly could, even if it was something very "in the field" done. These guys need dissolvable stitches and some antibiotics.
@@TheGuitarmanrh it is surprising what some nice salt water can do for a wound and overall health in terms of bacterial ailments. If this seal has a strong immune system (which it seems to have a really great one considering how long it’s lived with that thing stuck in its mouth and face), it may just be alright if it takes constant baths in salt water… the puss and bacteria will get washed out and little by little it should start to heal, since it only couldn’t heal because the seal moved a lot to survive which would never let the wound close up due to the line in there… now it should be a matter of a couple of weeks and it will be okay I think. However, obviously, a vet would definitely be great but given the circumstances, this may just work out in the end due to the salt water environment/microbiology.
Thank you so very much for trying to save this poor seal. I sure hope he survives the infection and can heal. I'm sure the salt water will work to clean the wounds. You folks are amazing!!!

🇧🇷this was really hard to watch and you did the best boys , thank you for give him a chance to live. You are my heroes 🇧🇷
This is the most stressful rescue I watched from OCN. Great job for the team. Thank you for your long patience and effort to free this puppy :)
🇩🇿
I was tensing up so much throughout, especially when they were trying to get the knot out.
I agree Kay, very stressful to watch.
These guys are Earth Hero’s 🙏
My heart is breaking for them. Such unnecessary suffering at our hands and so few prepared to do anything to put an end to it.
@Projekt Kobra Sure......it not my fault. Let someone else deal with it.
You all are amazing, how hard you worked to save this seal ❤❤❤❤
I know many others might have given up when they realized his had an entanglement inside his mouth yet I was so happy to see none of you gave up 😊
Thank you for taking the time to try and help him have a chance to feed and heal ❤❤❤❤
This was the best rescue so far. God Bless you guys for your dedication. Screw all the selfish scumbags that trash our oceans.
I agree with you James, from a deep empathy perspective.
This is the worst wounded seal rescue I have ever seen.
These guys are Earth Hero’s.
I can only imagine the bond created working as a team in such intensity. It's an honour to support this channel. You guys are so special
Heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. God bless you. I hope you will see this seal healed and thriving in the future.
I watched this again a year later, and it was still awful. Congratulations for sticking with it until the seal was freed of that entanglement. You guys have learned a lot since then, and you carry a sophisticated tool set with you. We all need to keep learning.
The only way I could keep watching was knowing the rescue was successful, or the video wouldn't have been posted. Thanks again, guys. 🦭💙
Thank you Linda - we were very worried about this video. But we felt the world should see this.
@@OceanConservationNamibia 🦭💯💙
I think its important that you have these tough rescues to go through to learn more and more how to deal with any situation that occurs. I mean all of us here wants no entanglements at all of course but we are not there yet. And the next best thing for me is a super team which we have in OCN.
They are true heroes and a great inspiration for us all ❤️
This was extremely painful to watch. I am glad you persevered and finally got the line off his mouth. I would like to believe he is now fully grown and frolicking in the sea.
Poor Baby.. ❤️ your patience and dedication are heavenly.. thank you.. REMIND BOATER AND FISHERMAN.. Our oceans are not garbage cans.. !!
Настоящая операция в походных условиях. Хирурги- высший класс! A real operation in camping conditions. Surgeons are the highest class!
Não é nenhuma operação. Eles nem usam algum tipo de spray para aliviar a dor dos bebês. Vamos começar a ser realista.
This is by far the saddest rescue me and the wife have watched. We just hope the seal managed to heal and start eating. Well done Naude and team, top marks yet again.
Words cannot express the amount of love and gratitude I have for three people I’ve never met. You are truly angels on earth. Thank you!! ❤️
Omg I couldn't work out what was going on or where they were cutting, poor seal. Those guys just seem to remain so focused, thank goodness they are. Unbelievable people. Bless them. Thank you for helping all the seals. I want to know how they don't hate fishermen and their poxy nets
So sad! He’s so weak. I hope his wounds heal and that he will be okay. 😢. Thank you for not giving up.
I am so glad you posted this. Your work is not just snapshots of excitement to lull people into thinking that what you do is quick and easy. What you do is tiring and difficult, and highlights the danger humans put wildlife into. This is a necessary video, and tbh I think you have a duty to show videos like this. Some things in life are difficult, but necessary.
The kindness and patience you show these hurting animals is so unbelievable. There will be a special place in heaven for all of you.
You guys are doing a wonderful job of saving these seals. Thank you for sharing the videos so that we can appreciate all of your efforts!
How can the public at large help? Is there equipment we can supply or money we can give your organization. Ways to catch people who do this to the seals and give them some of the same treatment they have given these poor seals?
Oh my God!!
What an effort!!
And can't even think about the pain the poor animal is enduring....
Thank you so much.
The world is a beautiful place because people like you are still in it....
I AM SO SORRY FOR YOU NAUDE, DENZIL AND ANTOINE! I can only image how traumatic that rescue was for you all. It was heart wrenching to watch. 💔😢
Dear God please comfort and heal your precious seal. You are all amazing
🦭🙏❤️♻️
Definitely. Well said Mary.
I think this is one of the most intense rescues I have watched so far. Thank you, team!
So terribly sad to see the state of the seal. But hopefully OCN has done just enough for this animal to start to recover.
This poor animal will not recover without a vet!!
Какой сложный, напряжённый случай. Не перестаю восхищаться вами. Вы для меня герои. Спасибо.
All I wanted to do is cry and ask for forgiveness to the seal.
Tank you héroes.
Да, несчастный тюлень был на грани.. Спасибо команде за эту спасенную жизнь!
Thank you so very much for trying to save this poor seal. I sure hope he survives the infection and can heal. I'm sure the salt water will work to clean the wounds. You folks are amazing!!!
Remember that seals can hold their breath for a really long time. But being sick and stressed likely dimms that somewhat.
Poor little puppy 😢 I hope he recovers from the injury 😢 thank you for saving his life ❤️ greetings to all 🙋🏻😊
Hallo 🏝🌊🐬🌦🐙🍍

Hola chicos! 🙋🏻♀️😃🇪🇦
WOWJust WOW!! You guys are absolute HEROES! 🥰😇My husband is a dentist and sometimes he has trouble getting humans to follow simple directions like “Open your mouth, please?”
Thank you for your continued efforts to help save these guys! ❤️❤️Fantastic job, as always!
Das war wirklich Präzisionsarbeit mit einfachsten Mitteln, vielen Dank für euren Einsatz und euren Mut. Bitte nicht aufgeben 🙏🥰👏
Hands down the most emotional rescue to date 💔💔💔
Congrats on your first surgery, guys!
Wow…the toughest rescue I’ve seen! Fantastic job, guys!
Fantastic team work hats off to all of you guys
You do this exactly right to post this video also. Everyone has to see the damage this can do to the pure animals. Thank you so much for your amazing help you give to the animals. Love it ❤
How patient they are with that poor seal and the dedication they’re doing for the animals their true heroes
I got fed up watching the adverts so I became a patron.., great job guy's.
Excellent job! You guys are awesome. Thank you for all you do.❤
This one hurt me to the bone !! Thank God for Ocean Conservation Namibia & your incredible men who save the seals!! I'm sure they do so much more.
This was a really nasty one, I'm so glad you guys stuck it out. Hopefully the sea water will help clear up that horrible wound now.
That was horrific. So much pain for the poor animal. Thank you for not giving up. Now it is in the hands of nature to take care of this guy.
WOW! That last one was a tough one. Thank you guys for the work you are doing to save the seals.
Con que cariño tratais a les focas sois fabulósos y el esfuerzo que haceis para poder sacarles todó.
Parece mentida que no sean conscients las persones que tiran de tanta por queria en el mar.
That was intense. I hope he was able to recover. Thank you to all at OCN.
That was so emotional. Trying not to cry. Thank you is not enough.
