I also have noticed once you cut off Sugar, processed food, and go eating just a little food… later on a few days the amount of pure energy you have is unbelievable. And you feel very light and energetic.

The absolute MOST important thing that I've noticed that's beneficial to having great energy levels throughout the day is definitely the fasting part, as in how often (or rather how relatively infrequently) you eat, and I only eat once a day, (OMAD), and I always have plenty of energy, pretty much regardless of WHAT I eat when I DO eat.
You can further enhance this energy of course, by also eating very healthy and nutrient dense food during your one meal a day, but the FREQUENCY of eating has even MORE of a significant impact on your energy levels than your specific DIET or food choices, in my experience.
Once your body is used to eating only once a day then you're running on ketones whenever you're not eating actual food, and once you get into that rhythm you have seemingly endless energy, and as long as you get in at least a semi decent and reasonably complete meal when you're finally truly hungry for actual food, then you can easily go another 20+ hours or so between your next meal the next day.

So true Dr Berg! Sugar appears to be "helpful" with energy - but it is short sighted. I used to consume a crazy amount of candy, soda.... Every day. I had migraines, PMS, anxiety, depression, fatigue. Since I ditched the ultra processed garbage and look to foods for nutrients - my symptoms are gone.
You talked about the mitochondria - a crucial topic for optimization of health. I love that you use a food first approach, rather than still consuming garbage but adding in a bucket of supplements.

No judgement intended as I recently switched from Coca-Cola to a sweet tea/unsweet tea/fruit juice/water mixture realizing that the caffeine & sugar from the tea and fructose from the fruit are still not good for me and I’m still exhausted.

For me the best ways to increase energy are to exercise and reduce stress. Normally I see people with lack of energy not mainly because what they eat but because they cannot manage their stress.

This is video indeed talks about something we can physically do to put in our bodies to benefit us, but that's just part of it. The mental and emotional part aspect need to be accounted for as well, practicing mindfulness, gratitude, etc. Those practices need to be consistent just like what you eat. However, starting with a diet that Dr. Berg recommends will also help the stress factor long-term because the food you eat will keep the cortisol levels down consistently.

Wow, the thing with the magnesium is really true. I once got recommended to supplement magnesium for muscular tension but I never stuck to it. I never associated it with energylevel though. After watching the video, I just had two days where I took a pill before sleeping and somehow I was way more energized the next day. I could get out of bed easier, had less of an afternoon crash. And it was only after one pill. Don't know if it is placebo, but I somehow felt a difference. Thank you for the tip!

Day 39 of being back on clean keto. I'm still so incredibly, painfully exhausted every day. I wish I could just have a little increase in energy, just to show me I'm on the right track. I've really been watching my electrolytes, but I'm pretty sure I'm not getting enough potassium. I do find when I eat beef and a large salad, I get a small bump in energy the next day (or more accurately, I'm a little less tired). I'm slowly getting back into exercising, but it's challenging when there's so little energy. Been meaning to start taking apple cider vinegar daily - time to give it a try! Who knows, maybe it will make a difference!

It made an amazing difference in my health - my immune system improved immensely, my throat felt so much better, my sinuses cleared (after being congested for decades), and there were many other improvements. I would highly recommend a clean keto diet. I've been back on keto for almost 6 months now. I'm not feeling the same benefits yet, but I know (for me) it takes time.

If I didn't sleep enough or well enough, nothing helps. Exercise helps but its effect is temporary and fades little by little, just like if you have eaten carbs or had coffee. Sea salt in my tomato salad gives me energy, but not always. Magnesium doesn't help me at all. One thing that is not mentioned here in this video is having avocado with red meat. Not separately but at the same time. This makes my energy levels stable for a long time. But again, if you don't have energy it won't help. The only solution is to sleep well and long enough. 😉

Free form fatty acids are all fuel for mitochondria, that includes acetic acid, (vinegar) which is what alcohol is broken down into, we also make energy through the fermentation pathway if our main glucose pathway has a dis order( diabetes, which is likely a spectrum, not a type) Moderation is key.
    Great stuff Dr Berg!!

At 0:40: actually, caffeine does not "get rid of" anything, it blocks the adenosine receptors in the brain - for a while. But once the caffeine wears off, you will have even more adenosine, making you feel even more tired. Replenishing the caffeine will only get you so far.
Black or green or white tea are no real alternative, as they work similarly. However, the caffeine contained in the tea leaves is bound to tannins. Therefore, it must first be released from the tannin before it can block the receptors. Consequently, the "awakening" effect of tea starts later than that of coffee and lasts longer. In simple words: coffee kicks you in the but, while the effect of tea is more like a curve.
Drinking tea may have other benefits beyond the already mentioned tannins, while it is still not yet fully understood what the roasting does to the coffee, e.g. if an to what extent this process creates acrylamid.
I assume Dr. Berg has already covered green tea in one of his vidoes - is there any healt-related topich which he has not?

Carbs give me energy, protein makes me satisfied, fibre makes me feel full and fat keeps my energy levels stable for a long time. I eat white bread with ghee and egg yolks to give me energy, when I feel depleted. That's how I can do whatever I have to do during the day. I exercise and burn the calories, so no problem, whatsoever. 😊

Potatoes are another great source of potassium! They have lots of it. I know it is not apart of Keto as they have too many carbs but they are still a highly nutritious food. Potatoes caused a massive population boom in both Europe and Asia after they were discovered in South America in the 16th century by Europeans and it then eventually became a staple food.

Cutting off sugar is a big one. What worked for me was consistent exercise through the day. So every hour I'd either go for a short walk up some stairs, or just drop and do 20 pushups and situps. It instantly recharges you, and you'll look a bit better in the mirror! Oh and if you can stomach it, beetroot juice.

    Hello Dr. Berg,
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I started watching this video and immediately I searched what ATP is.
With a little digging I realised it takes I takes quite a bit of eduaction to truely understand this. I was brought to dna and rna, and a load of other information that I dont understand. I would definetly like to though :). Found I was looking up alot of words to haha.
Anyways. Thanks for using your knowledge to help. I suffer from low energy which leads to alot of problems and not the best life choices if you can imagine.
Im doing my research and I really hope this helps! Instead of putting bandaid on things I would rather solve the problem. I've also heard read, and watched a few videos stating that body energy distribution can help prevent cancer. I guess there is an argument that cancer is a metabolism, or metabolic disease? I'm probably not using the proper words, but I would like to know more :).
Anyways blah blah. Thank you for giving to humanity ❤️
