Why does everyone forget about this super important part: Get enough sunlight every day. Your mood improve, you feel happier and you feel more awake, so more energetic.
#1. Decide that you are not tired. Thank you so so so much for this. I've got a huge problem with gaslighting in my family ( I'm pretty sure me, my older sibling, and one of my parents are somehow unintentionally gaslighting each other. If not, at least I'm always feeling gaslighted by them) and I'm always doubting myself over whether or not they're just self victimizing themselves in order to get out of doing something or if I'm just really expecting too much out of them. It's a little thing, but this really took a weight off my chest in order to not accept their excuses of being too tired when I know it's just that they are mentally unwilling to care enough to put some effort into doing something for my sake and aren't willing to admit it.

Mr. Vaj that’s the most wrong thing I’ve ever heard. Think about all those unhealthy people that are miserable, mentally and physically. It can be anything from building a caban in the forest to writting a booking. Also every time you feel sad you need to think of it as a passing phase. I' aware this is a video from 5 years ago, but I just wanted you to know that I've just discovered your channel and I LOVE your sarcasm, you made me really laugh while teaching me something and I personally think that's the best thing you can do nowadays. Definitely need more of this!
I’ve came back to this video countless times since it was made. I really liked first one even though I normally don’t like the think positive vibes. I found this tip quite practical actually. Also I did not realise how much waking up the same time each day made a big difference. Thanks
After reading a book "Why we sleep" (which I highly recommend) I started taking short naps in the middle of the day. In the beginning it was just as you say, I felt worse after a nap, but I continued and after a couple of days I started to feel more energetic, and the energy level kept being on stable level until end of the day. So I think we can learn how to nap, as everything else. Keys to my naps were to have it short 15-25 minutes max and do something physical or a mental puzzle just after the nap fight sleep inertia.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, just discovered your channel and yes this is the 7th video I’m watching today, but 3 of those were made by you and they really are helpful! Thanks for such great content :)
Great vid, bro! You motivated me to rethink running as a part of a morning routine to increase amount of exercise I get during the week 💪 I think your prejudice towards naps may come from taking naps that are too long. It turns out that after ~30 minutes of sleeping your mind goes into deep sleep phase. What it means is that if your nap lasts more than 30 minutes, you'll feel extremely sleepy after waking up. I've been taking < 30 minutes naps after a lunch everyday for over a year now and they work like magic! Even though I'm a lark and I wake up extremely early, naps make the second part of my day more productive than the first one 👍
About the midday reset: I would add the idea that one might need an energy boost (by the middle of the day or somewhere along the way) on its motivation as well - in that case a video like yours is a good call! Congrats on the video, very good ideas!
For the whole waking up consistently thing, it's actually REALLY important for our mental clock. Once we have a set time to wake up, our body knows when to release those chemicals that allow us to fully function in the morning and motivate us to get up. Without a consistent schedule, the body just doesnt know when you're going to wake up at all, so it's less likely to be efficient in terms of releasing neurochemicals at the right time.
You might feel tired after the nap due to sleep inertia state you get in after certain amount of time asleep. It's usually 20-30 minutes. This means, that after a nap this short it should boost your energy levels, however, if you exceed this time frame you will feel clumsy and numb as your body was already prepared for a all night's sleep.
DUDE I'M SO GLAD YOU STARTED OUT WITH *MINDSET*. Before I clicked to watch this I saw you holding up avocados in your thumbnail and was like "Man.. I wish someone would talk about mindset as part of feeling tired vs energized." AND BOOM. YOU DID! YEAAA LETS GO! .... just finished watching the video. This is maybe the best video I've seen talking about how to be more energized. Great video and thanks for sharing man! (the Trump tackle had me rolling)
Nice video, I personally focus on exercise as making my mind work better and if there is weight loss , I will take that weight loss as a good side effect. If I exercise to lose weight I get discouraged and stop. But programming myself to exercise more to enrich my mind it keeps me motivated.
This is the video that made me sub to you, finally somebody that is not like "drink water first thing in the morning and then meditate" vut actually gives true advices
Really good tips! But I think it's also important to say that things like depression, anxiety or lack of motivation can be the decise factor for low energy throughout the day. Doing what you said, those things will get better, but might not be solved and most of the times people just bury them and think they should be strong enough to move forward in spite of them. And that's terrible, we gotta have some self-awareness and take care of those things. And another problem that can be a consequence of that (or not) is health issues. Stomach and intestine respond almost directly to how you're feeling, and if you're stressed out, or don't see why you should keep going and doing your stuff, they can be a "phantom pain" that never goes away, no matter what you try in medicine. There are many other examples of how the body react to those things, aside, of course, from ilnesses that are not related to the emotional state and will mess with your energy too. Anyway, I know it's common sense, but I think it's important to remind people to know their body and their mind as a whole. A simple change of perspective or a specific ingredient on a diet can make a huge difference in their lives.
I was always tired despite getting enough sleep and doing workouts from time to time. Because i had depression i thought it was the reason, so i didnt see a doctor. Later on i had to do a blood test for something else and it turned out i had an extremly low iron level. After taking iron medications for 3 months, it got so much better. I still have low energy most of the time but i dont feel like sleeping all the time now. Sadly not enough people speak about nutrition defficey symptomps. A tip : energy is not as important as focus and clarity. If you're hungry enough and disciplined enough, even with a low energy level you can do what you want to. Having a lot of energy but no where to focus is a bad idea.
Brendan Swords he’s right. I was able to be productive and create art all day despite fasting and having no water or food in my system. (I’m not Muslim, I just do it sometimes for discipline).
EXTENDED SUMMARY: 1. Decide you are not tired, believe you are enrgetic 2. Don't oversleep. Get below 8hrs. Relyabe schedule - wake up the same time always. 3. Exercise every day, intensive every other day. Brain will give energy for that lifestyle. 4. Reduce sugar and cheap carbohidrates, get complex ones instead. Eat dark greens and veggies, drink a lot of water 5. Midday reset - short walk / meditate / gym. What costs energy gives energy.
The mental thing is really useful! I've managed to have tons of energy with no rest, vise versa, amd inbetween. Which has made it very difficult to gauge &/or balance my sleep/energy levels, because of what I now know to be my perspective on sleep shifting unconsciously. Forcing myself to stay awake often leads to a mentality of energy, then not being able to fall asleep when it's time or having really forced sleep. I've recently been falling asleep better while falling into a more mentally tired state. More recently however, I'm sluggish most the day, come alive late, stay up late, can't fall asleep, dominoes fall, try to shift them, stay stuck in their fallout. Ideally we don't want to go full mental or physical, we need both, but when one falls short, we can use the other to balance the scales back, prevent them from tipping, or to accomplish something. I think this can be applied universally.
When he said "Your body is a car, and you have to put high quality...." my brain definitely finished that sentence with high quality clowns. Fill your body-car with high-quality clowns. Why am I like this.
Just imagine how low in energy you would feel if you would skip drinking water for more than 7 or 8 hours a day. This exactly happens when we sleep! Start your day with a liter of pure or lemon infused water on your empty stomach. I prefer to do it in bed while watching the news. I just drink it until i feel fully energized. Trust me you WILL feel the energy, i even can easily skip coffee this way. (Take a while to get used to it though).
Name I read Somewhere that you should rinse well, then wait 30 minutes before brushing your teeth after eating or drinking anything acidic because the acid softens the enamel on your teeth. Sounds logical to me
Nice video. I do most all of these things but I work from home from very early to the afternoon. Then it's time to work on long term goals that aren't urgent. So, I often crash in the middle of the day. Not because I'm so tired, but because my willpower for the day is shot. I will try what you said. Maybe the walk, gym, or meditation works because you're taking your mind off of everything you want/have to do.
a keto diet with 2000-2200 calorie one meal a day (which was my breakfast) had me at a constant energy level every day. felt great. eventually got tired of shoveling food into my mouth at 7am for a good half hour. but hey, after doing it for a few months it's just kept my body stable ever since. (it's been a year and a half and all I do is light exercises daily)

When I was younger, I had SO MUCH ENERGY. I want it back. I could run miles, and just do anything for a long time without getting tired. I could play sports all day without getting tired. I almost never felt tired until the end of the day when it was time to sleep. I want it again but I don’t know how I used to do it. Does anyone relate? People used to think I was drinking coffee or something because I was so hyper/ just never tired.

@@Pumpkin-Link quality sleep, diet and exercise is pretty much all youll need to focus on. Most people in their 20s including me, are severely sleep deprived and that eventually takes a toll. The more we obsess over that quality sleep the it more keeps eluding. meditation has helped me in that regard, just have to be consistent with it
The whole part about “your body is a temple- your body is a car- I don’t even like this” wrecked me 😂 I love that you kept all of that in the final edit Also the part where you called me out on my 7th RUclips video of the day
I think the reason for the last one is pretty simple. Energy is not something that comes exclusively from sleep and then you just have a certain amount of joules in your energy bank to spend throughout the day. Your body's cells actually produce energy to carry out their own functions via chemical processes. Therefore, if you demand of your body that it perform a task it does not have the energy for, it doesn't just crash. It starts producing more energy to meet the demand! Essentially, your body will give you only the minimum of what it thinks is needed and holds the rest in reserve for emergencies. That reserve will not be released until you call on it. But even though I knew this, I didn't really apply it in my own case. I have on multiple occasions tried the nap thing when I got tired early because I didn't have enough sleep the night before and thus essentially did biphasic sleep, getting up for a while when my husband was ready for bed. It wasn't the best strategy. Now I have a new strategy to call upon when I need it. Thank you.
For point #5, I highly recommended dancing. Just pick a song or two, play it, and then just go all out with dancing to it. It'll put you in a good mood, too.
If I sleep more than 6 hours, I'am tired the whole day (It's been like this since I was like 10 years old). Tho when I get like 4-5 hours of sleep, I can go on like a machine, and I feel much better. How come ? Is there anyone else out there like me?
I take it you don't work out. I tried that but my body recovery wasn't enough, I need at least 8 hours sleep to recover from working out 2 1/2 hrs every day.
@@BigBadJerryRogers Thanks for the reply! Well I do work out, tho not every day, more like 3 times a week for about 1 1/2 h. So I'll try squeeze in another set of traning, cus I know that I need more sleep.
Same! If I enter the deepest sleep stage ( called REM sleep) I wake up so groggy & it’s difficult to get going. It’s literally the worst! Lately I’m staying up later but always waking up at 7am......getting up is way more tolerable.
Thank you so much, these tips seem so logical and still I somehow never thought that sleeping in the afternoon when I feel tired would drain my energy even more or that I just need to take a walk to feel better. I‘ve just been sitting in my bed scrolling on TikTok the past two days, thinking about why I don‘t want to get up and be productive. Again, this video helped me a lot, thank you :)
Meditation and mindfulness helps a lot too, almost endless mind wandering slowly sucks your energy and makes you tired, having clear mind is a lot better and energy efficent.
When my body realizes that I'm going to the gym more regular, I'll instantly catch a cold which stops me from going to the gym for at least a week. fml I guess
That means you need to: 1. Eat better 2. Drink more water 3. Sleep 8 hours before going to the gym. This is something that happens to me too. These three things fix it.
Could be your own immune response, maybe? The symptoms of a cold are generally the results of your body purging the infection, not the infection itself. If it's a regular occurrence every time you try, then it may well just be something you have to try to power through.
"That which costeth energy giveth energy" Brilliant!! 😅👌👌👌

I’ve came back to this video countless times since it was made. I really liked first one even though I normally don’t like the think positive vibes. I found this tip quite practical actually.
Also I did not realise how much waking up the same time each day made a big difference. Thanks
This channel is Life changing 🙏🏻🙏🏻
After reading a book "Why we sleep" (which I highly recommend) I started taking short naps in the middle of the day. In the beginning it was just as you say, I felt worse after a nap, but I continued and after a couple of days I started to feel more energetic, and the energy level kept being on stable level until end of the day. So I think we can learn how to nap, as everything else. Keys to my naps were to have it short 15-25 minutes max and do something physical or a mental puzzle just after the nap fight sleep inertia.
dude you are my legend! you are literally saving my life out of a rut which I'm living,
really appreciate it!
morteza karimzadeh this is a super cool comment. Hope my channel in the future gets comments like this as well!
Thanks man! Enjoy your day you just helped me push through Friday with my head high
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, just discovered your channel and yes this is the 7th video I’m watching today, but 3 of those were made by you and they really are helpful! Thanks for such great content :)
The last one was really helpful, i was just scrolling yt in middle of the day.
Thank you
Great vid, bro! You motivated me to rethink running as a part of a morning routine to increase amount of exercise I get during the week 💪
I think your prejudice towards naps may come from taking naps that are too long.
I literally subscribed because of your soothing voice...what a gift
I felt tired all the time ever since I was a teenager, I cannot imagine what being old must feel like on top of that.
Anima same hereeee🙃
Me too, turns out I don't process vitamin D well so I have to take supplements for it. It helps, you'll still be a slug just not as much.
Teenagers are supposed to be tired all the time. You might be sleep deprived
"Don't...click away"
About the midday reset: I would add the idea that one might need an energy boost (by the middle of the day or somewhere along the way) on its motivation as well - in that case a video like yours is a good call! Congrats on the video, very good ideas!
For the whole waking up consistently thing, it's actually REALLY important for our mental clock. Once we have a set time to wake up, our body knows when to release those chemicals that allow us to fully function in the morning and motivate us to get up. Without a consistent schedule, the body just doesnt know when you're going to wake up at all, so it's less likely to be efficient in terms of releasing neurochemicals at the right time.
thank you for this video
You might feel tired after the nap due to sleep inertia state you get in after certain amount of time asleep. It's usually 20-30 minutes. This means, that after a nap this short it should boost your energy levels, however, if you exceed this time frame you will feel clumsy and numb as your body was already prepared for a all night's sleep.
DUDE I'M SO GLAD YOU STARTED OUT WITH *MINDSET*. Before I clicked to watch this I saw you holding up avocados in your thumbnail and was like "Man.. I wish someone would talk about mindset as part of feeling tired vs energized."
AND BOOM.

Wrong.

@@Rudenbehr Why does my body start shutting down when I try to do things when I have no energy then?
LMAO I LOVED THIS SM, tbh this must be one of my very fav channels. It helped me a lot and youre funny as hell.
EXTENDED SUMMARY:
1. Decide you are not tired, believe you are enrgetic
2. Don't oversleep. Get below 8hrs. Relyabe schedule - wake up the same time always.
3. Exercise every day, intensive every other day. Brain will give energy for that lifestyle.
4. Reduce sugar and cheap carbohidrates, get complex ones instead. Eat dark greens and veggies, drink a lot of water
😂😂
This made my day, thank you
my attention span is horrible and I sat through this entire video. I even laughed. Great work, I really love your content!
XY You should worry about the acid in the lemon you put in your water. You’ll rot your teeth faster than drinking Mountain Dew
@@Livetoeat171 That's why you use a straw.
@@Livetoeat171 Just drink it before you brush your teeth
Name I read Somewhere that you should rinse well, then wait 30 minutes before brushing your teeth after eating or drinking anything acidic because the acid softens the enamel on your teeth. Sounds logical to me
Water doesn't give you energy
Great video. Love it !
I find having a hot shower in the middle of the day gives an energy boost and makes me calm and relaxed at the same time.
Hellwig64275 cold showers are better, you wake up ASAP bc of the shock
telling myself im not tired really helped, thanks
I like that uoi keep your videos concise and the humour is thrown in quickly.
"honey, come to bed please you haven't slept in 3 days"

So many good tips!!! I will try to incorporate some of these, thank you
When I was younger, I had SO MUCH ENERGY.

1. Tell yourself to be more energetic
2. Exercise
3. Eat less sugar, less simple carbs
4. Wake up on a routine time
@João P K hahahahaha
The whole part about “your body is a temple- your body is a car- I don’t even like this” wrecked me 😂 I love that you kept all of that in the final edit
Also the part where you called me out on my 7th RUclips video of the day
thank you, joey. i've just done 30 push-ups dedicated to you my friend.
Thank you.
Quitting booze & pot was 80% of it the remainder came from hydration, nutrition

I honestly feel more tired on my days off from work I feel like I get more things done on an afternoon and evening after I put in an 8 he day
For point #5, I highly recommended dancing.

When my body realizes that I'm going to the gym more regular, I'll instantly catch a cold which stops me from going to the gym for at least a week.
fml I guess
That means you need to:
1. Eat better
2. Drink more water
3. Sleep 8 hours before going to the gym.
This is something that happens to me too. These three things fix it.
@@m35926 well I think the sleeping time is a problem here D: thanks mate!
Could be your own immune response, maybe? The symptoms of a cold are generally the results of your body purging the infection, not the infection itself. If it's a regular occurrence every time you try, then it may well just be something you have to try to power through.
allergic to the gym?
