Correction: Apparently "power posing" has been completely debunked. I was unaware of this when I made the video. While I do not believe this negates the validity of the "what's good for the body is good for the mind" sentiment, there are definitely stronger studies I could have referenced to prove that claim. My apologies.

Honestly the single most important thing for having more energy is having something in your life that you're excited to do. Having something you're looking forward to when you wake up makes a gigantic difference. Unfortunately, having something to be excited about is easier said than done.

    • @harrisonjohn4301
      @harrisonjohn4301 3 года назад +159

Dude forsure! I 💯 percent agree with this. I’m not happy (and always tired) either and I just feel like I can’t figure out why. And I’m super introverted so I’ve actually been putting a lot of effort into hanging out with people during the week AND when I don’t feel like it. Even if I don’t have anyone to hang out with I’ll force myself to go outside when I don’t feel like it. Like tomorrow I’m going to go surfing by myself even though I don’t feel like it because I know it’ll make me feel better.
But my point is with that I guess is even though you can put in a lot of effort to better your life…you can still feel like it’s missing something or you can still feel unhappy. I’m still not sure why but a BIG one forsure is having something to be excited about weekly or everyday. And it’s hard to find things like that.

This is exactly the answer especially for me, the same mundane slave driving has chipped away at me over the past few years and caught up with me this year and just gave up and now existing. With no goal or anything to look forward to that you truly enjoy and want there is no meaning or motivation. Its even harder trying to figure out what that is or to know what it is but you just cant have it. Im tired all the time and i mean exhausted but cant sleep because i cant shut my mind down and then wake up feeling like complete shit everyday no matter how much sleep i do or don't get. Its insane and shouldn't be so hard to lead or have a decent or mediocre life. Its no wonder people become addicted to drugs and alcohol and things like that. I wish the best to everyone struggling in similar ways and battling with themselves everyday just to survive to exist

Also, anxiety and depression can cause chronic fatigue, and sometimes people don’t realize they’re suffering from that because they have loads of good ideas and projects they wanna do - maybe feeling motivated too - while their body is actually depleted of energy due to packed up failures and traumas from the past.
So, if you’re feeling tired, maybe ask yourself if there are inner unresolved things you put under the mat…. It might be hard, but it’s needed to purge your system from all those blocks and toxins that are currently preventing you from actually having all the energy you need 💪🏻
    Take care! X

For me it’s boredom and loneliness… I’m not lonely but sure as hell feel like it every now and then…
The boredom factor relates to how to have fun at home I need to pay for a subscription and when you are someone who doesn’t have a lot of money it’s a big ask.

    Few things I did
    1) Fixing my sleep was big deal, I tried to put in 7 - 8 hours of sleep and helped a lot
    2) Cut down the sugar, from liquids and drank a lot more water and Isotonic drinks. ( I live in country with warm weather)
    3) Increased the height on my hair ( crazy ) but having it in the lowest height made me lean back more and feel lazy , as if Im slouching on the couch
    4) Journaling my work and what I do. I always seem to forget what I did the other day so I write down everything I do related to work
    5) Cut distractions and work in a cold environment.
    6) Cut down on heavy meals and switch to less heavy ones.
    7) Workout 6 times a week and take a off day on sunday to meet friends / play video games to destress
    8) Do something competitive , I do Sim racing and also powerlifting/ strongman. Accumilate small wins that you can look back on
    9) Have a supportive gf ( hardest thing to get for most guys, so I put it at the bottom).
    10) Have 2 huge monitors / 1 ultra wide monitor and a good table for your workspace. Combined 64 inches of screen at 4k helps me to organize things on the screen and focus on multiple things .

      1) 7 hours may not be enough for some people. Some people who train 6 times a week may need 10 hours of sleep per night.
      2) Drinking water in excess can wash electrolytes out. Cutting down all sugars may not be sustainable for people who are trying to limit their fat intake.
      3) For some people, actually cutting their hair may help with their depression and increase energy, by virtue of feeling fresh.
      4) Good point.
      5) Good point.
      6) Good point.
      7) Good approach.
      8) Good point.
      9) Excellent point, really hard in practice.
      10) This may make you more prone to getting distracted in some cases.
      Thanks for your insights.

Living according to your genetically predetermined biological clock, going outside for a walk when you want it, amongst other things, is a luxury that many people are sadly unable to experience, and it takes a huge toll on people's health and wellbeing. That's why, although it's all just coming with good intentions, I allways had an issue with all the various tips and suggestions that somehow try to tell people how to solve their issues, without addressing the actual elephant in the room.

Tip for everyone not falling asleep due to insomnia: Do not stress about the fact you don't fall asleep. The very nature of stressing (even unconsciously) keeps you from sleeping or staying asleep. Let go. Accept. You will feel SO much better after you start using internet 'actively' (less shorts and scrolling without intention). You can find information, watch movies, read books, listen to podcasts, find art etc etc as long as it's something you sought out and have to actually focus on. Not to mention you will have time for other things and hobbies too, which you can do now, as you have more energy left.

@@vv4ra thank you so much 🙏🏼 I really like that you believe in yourself that you can and WILL be better. This is the fist step ✨ a little tip that I learned is to appreciate the little things in life, for me it was going for little walks with my fav tea and to not be too judgmental to ourselves. For I really wanted to exercise more and I used to go to the gym and do at leat 1 hour of workouts and when I didn’t I felt bad, now even if I exercise for only 5-10 min every two days, I feel better because I at least did something and I am reaching my goals step by step instead of wanting it to reach them fast.

If you consider buying a standing desk remember this: standing for a long time isn’t better than sitting. What is good for your body is variation, so sit and stand in intervals, and don’t neglect your 5 minute break because you got a standing desk. Breaks are important for mind and body, and taking a quick stroll is better than standing static
standing for long intervals will bring problems just as sitting does. Be dynamic at your workplace, variation is key

    SUMMARY:
As cliche as it sounds, it's about Sleep, Diet, and Exercise
    1. Stop misusing caffeine.
-HALF of the caffeine is still in your system 5-7 hrs after.
-Don't drink caffeine past lunch time to improve your sleep and energy.
    2. Get more sleep opportunity. To sleep a full 8 hours, you might need up to 9 hours in bed.
    3. Fix your circadian rhythm.
-No screens before bed to boost melatonin.
-Blackout curtains/"black blanket" to darken your room.
-Breath out of your nose (BreatheRight strips etc.)
    4. Exercise.
-There is a link between physiology and psychology.
    -Improve your posture.
-Exercise once per day but sitting down the rest of the day isn't enough. Go for walks (3-5 mins/hr), get a standing desk.
    5. Diet.

    2. try not to use electronic 40-1 hour before bedtime, to prevent brain from thinking it is still daytime.
    3. no coffee after 12pm
    3. make the bedroom darker
    4. use breathe right strips if need to, to practice nasal breathing, for better quality sleep.
    5. train the body to be more active each day. the body will get use to this and eventually the body will be able to expend more and more energy each day.

The only reason for being tired is , you are carrying more weights of ur past , u r sad , ur not happy , u feel like ur always moving in a single circle , ur unhappy because everybody near u is happy and doing good in their life (different from jealousy), but the thing is no matter what you do , or how perfectly you want ur life to be there will always be regrets , you have to accept ur past and move on , just be happy don't fear for anything. You regret that u could have done so much in past if u got back from now , but why don't you think doing something now can impact your future, just be happy, find good folk, just take it slow , don't over exhaust just go slow , be happy for where u are despite ur sufferings and then u feel back the spark for life that u lost ages before 🙂.

In school classes often switch that often anyway and if you have a longer class ask to go to the bathroom halfway through. In the wheelchair the same principle would be to move away from the desk and go around the room for a bit. You’d still be moving and that’s more the point. Adapt for what limitations you have and what works for you. For my case my fitbit reminds me to move regularly and that is the prompt I need.

John Mellencamp sang it best - "Life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone". Once you hit middle age, it's like that. Every day is just various shades of gray; there's nothing to really look forward to anymore and once you realize that your best days are behind you, every day becomes a slog to get through. This makes you tired, ALL the time.

This beautiful thing happens when you turn 18 where you get to decide what you want to do. I didn’t know what to do so I joined the Air Force. I’m getting out of the military now and I have life experience and a plan for the rest of my life. I am NOT recommending you to join the military (trust me, it’s not for everyone), I am just saying that you can do whatever you want to do after the mandatory stuff is done. Find a trade job you’re interested in and go for it, study something fun in college if you want to go to it, travel (if you can). Be adventurous and take advantage of your free time.
