I have arthritis rheumatoid for almost 18 years. Meds only gave me drugs and drugs and I was never getting better. I had insomnia, depression and a lot of side effects caused by medication. After watching Gary Brecka on diary of CEO, I tested for B12 and vitamin D. Bingo! I was deficient in these vitamins. No doctor ever cared about that. After supplemented I was incredibly better: better sleep, mood, energy…I also follow his breathing exercises, cold shower, morning sun, regular exercises, health diet (no processed food, conscious about vitamins and nutrients ). . I finally feel better and I don’t need expensive medication anymore, just the cheap ones in lower doses. In all my 18 years of chronic disease, no doctor has ever told me I could change that much with only changes of habits.

It’s because they pray on the vulnerable. Everyone has their insecurities and issues. No matter how smart or educated, they are still human. These gurus use scientific words and partly true statements, and twist them and exaggerate them to manipulate people. And people have hope that it works. Deep down they may know is BS, but they are just hoping the quick fix/miracle cure works. They may also be desperate. People who suffer from chronic pain, hearing there’s a cure for their headaches it’s music to their ears. They would try anything at that point, because everything else they tried didn’t work, so they are desperately hoping it works. These gurus are despicable for manipulating the most vulnerable to make money.

Unfortunately the medical field is run by insurance companies and pharma companies because it is BIG business. And if your doctor doesn't subscribe to the 'Standard of Care' that was created by insurance and pharma, they can be sued and held liable. It's a tough position for a doctor to be in. And often the standard of care is ‘keep doing what you’re doing but also take this drug’. It leaves patients feeling that they’re not being heard and that they do not have options.
And to make matters worse, MDs have very little nutrition and lifestyle training, which is the root of where most disease comes from.
Our healthcare system is almost 100% reactive and not focused on preventative treatment
The ‘gray area’ as you refer to it is growing exponentially bc of this.. people want health experts, not drug dealers. And so too often we look to ‘IKA’s for alternative / natural solutions

As soon as I herd the migrain thing I would have walked away. My family has a history of migraines. My great grandfather was on some serious pain killers before he died because he had a constant migraine. I even went for testing and they scanned my head multiple times because they wanted to make sure it wasn't a clot or something (which it wasnt) so then they hooked me up to a brain wave imagining machine while I was having one. After 10 minutes of a 45 minute procedure the doctor comes in and gave me something for the head ache. And after I slept for about 30 minutes because it was that bad he showed me why he canceled it early. It looked like a rave was going on in my brain and he said it was rare but really untreatable. That really the only thing we could do is treat the symptoms as they happen. Also I know somepeople when they hear migraine they are going to think "oh its just a headache" no its way worse than that. I get super sensitive to hot and cold, movement of my own body is difficult. All of my senses start going haywire like I can see sound and taste air. I also get a fever not a duper high fever but a fever. And I can even get uncontrollable shakes from it like I'm am hypothermic. So I would have laughed in this dudes face and said "you think salts going to fix that? Get real." And moved on

Migraines though we're originally written as a "woman's only" condition based around the menstrual cycle. On paper my headaches are classified as clusters but calling them migraines means more people will understand what sort of level I'm dealing with. But yes even for not being a doctor you hit the nail on the head. And there has been some shift recently with treatment and categorization of cluster headaches stearing it away from being gender dividing disorders and realizing women can get them as well. And I was also told about the pure oxygen treatments. I found Gary a few months ago, and I don’t blindly believe everything he says but figured some things were worth a try. while seeing a neurologist for debilitating migraines (every 7-9) days, I tried the salt trick he mentioned. while it doesn’t cure my migraines, it has, to this point, extended the time between them (10-13 days). So dropping a pinch or two of fancy salt in the water I’m already drinking in the mornings isn’t a huge deal to me, it also helps me not feel bloated. My Dr is on board with it since more pain free days is the goal. Also I’ve been deficient and taking B12 for years with no change in my lab work so I tried the type he suggested as well, and I now have enough energy at the end of the day to cook dinner when I get home from work.

Only 3 minutes in but wanted to share a very recent experience. A month ago my son was sick so took him to an urgent care to get checked out. We were away from home, otherwise would have gone to his regular pediatrician. Anyhow, the urgent care doc prescribed mometasone. Pharmacy worker where we went said it was going to cost something like $65 after insurance, but that we could just get Nasonex on the aisle shelf right behind us for $19. The worker verified with the pharmacist that what was prescribed was exactly the same as Nasonex, including the amount per spray. Out of curiosity, I asked how much it would have been without insurance: $135. Unbelievable that a doctor would try to stick us with a $135 prescription for Nasonex that only costs $19. So, just on the topic of trust... "snake oil salesmen" and all that. Doctors are not perfect or fully trustworthy, either.

I was suffering with debilitating migraines as a teen, and all the specialists we saw (pain specialist, neurologist, just to name a few) couldnt't really help me so we also turned to alternative medicine.
Ended up at a homeopath, she was a little old lady in an office in her own home. She prescribed me these tiny little pills, that I'm absolutely convinced were just sugar, that I had to take once a month. I wasn't allowed to touch them with my hands because that would stop the from working. They were expensive af and they didn't do anything (of course lol).

Hilarious! Dana White was on meds for high cholesterol, blood thinners, he had high blood pressure, super high triglycerides, was on a c-pap machine for sleep apnea, tinnitus, overweight, chronic inflammation in his legs, low energy, poor memory and concentration. He was a walking heart attack! Gary Brecka told him to change his diet to keto, exercise, cold plunge, do a genetic methylation test and take the right supplements. In ten weeks Dana White was off ALL meds, no longer had sleep apnea, tinnitus was gone, inflammation was gone, he was shredded after and has been on multiple shows talking about how Gary saved his life. Because modern doctors’ advice related to overall health has a really great track record😂. I think regular doctors probably have a little work to do when it comes to building back trust in their advice. Going to suggest some humility and some soul searching on their part. Most doctors know very little about human nutritional needs and in general just do what they are told by their teachers and “best practices” which can often turn out to be just perpetuated wrong information. There is a lot of group think in the medical establishment. Sorry, I think its good to listen to new voices and get other perspectives on health and consider a variety of options that weigh risks and benefits. I do think it is wise to consider what biases people are bringing and the financial gains they stand to make and look at any recommendations / claims given by these folks with a skeptical eye but one can usually ferret out the good information from exaggerated claims with a little effort.
