  • Are you aging too fast? Too much iron can cause premature aging both inside and outside the body. Find out how to slow down aging and reduce oxidative stress by eliminating excess iron.

    ▶️ • The MOST POWERFUL Anti...
    Did you know that too much iron can decrease longevity? Your body makes hydrogen peroxide that is used by the immune system to kill microbes. When hydrogen peroxide combines with iron, it can cause serious cellular damage.
    People with iron-deficiency anemia often have dysfunctional iron, which means it’s unavailable to the red blood cells. This could be why we are not seeing a decrease in anemia even though we've increased iron in the food supply.
    Iron overload may increase your risk for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, cancer, heart disease, and more. Excess iron causes oxidative stress and increases inflammation.
    As we age, we naturally accumulate more iron. Around 70% of our iron is stored in protein in the blood that helps carry oxygen. Ferritin should be inside your tissues to protect you from free iron and control when iron is released. This very efficient system recycles iron in the body.
    Certain pathogens, microbes, and infections use iron as fuel. This is why the body protects free iron. Some people feel better after donating blood, indicating they have too much iron.
    Too much iron without enough copper is a big problem. If you think you have this problem, limit iron exposure before taking a copper supplement. Iron is found in enriched flours, grains, and refined carbohydrate products. Shellfish, organ meats, sunflower seeds, and dark chocolate are good sources of copper.
    To combat oxidative damage caused by iron and other factors like alcohol, smoking, pollution, and junk foods, you’ll want to build up your antioxidant reserve. Glutamine found in red meat is vital, but protein is the most important! It’s especially important to consume enough protein as you get older.
    Zinc, manganese, magnesium, and selenium can increase antioxidant networks to help you regulate excess iron. Quercetin, curcumin, black tea, and increasing melatonin are also very beneficial.
    Lactoferrin is the most powerful chelator for iron. It’s found naturally in dairy and can be taken as a supplement.

    I was diagnosed as iron deficient w/o anemia because my ferritin levels were at a 5 yet my hemoglobin and TIBC, etc were normal. I felt extreme fatigue and depression as a result. Once I started taking iron and vitamin c, as prescribed by my Hematologist, I started feeling better. Dr, please address this very confusing claim at the end of your video where you say we should want our ferritin as close to zero as possible. Please understand you have a huge following and thjs has caused confusion that can be dangerous to those of us who already had low ferritin levels and tried for months/years to understand what was going on. That one statement you said can potentially reverse months of improvement for people like me. I hope you consider. Thank you.

    Dr. Berg, please explain wanting ferrtin low and close to zero?? That sounds so dangerous!! I have suffered from low ferritin and I was close to being not able to function. I had trouble catching my breath, dizzyness, heart palpitations and had to lay down most of the day. The low ferritin caused low red blood cells and hemoglobin counts. I have used iron infusions to correct this and am so thankful that my levels are now normal!!

    • @beautifullyaligned
      @beautifullyaligned Месяц назад +8

      Yes this is the one time I'm side eyening him because I also had very low ferritin which was causing a whole bunch of issues: depression, fatigue to name a couple.. Now that Im on iron supplements and vitamin c, ferritin has increased and my symptoms have greatly improved. This advice is causing serious confusion now and it's honestly stressing me out a bit. Thjs isn't the first video he says negative things about iron without considering those of us who seriously are borderline anemic.. Now him saying our ferritin levels should be as close to 0 is really throwing me off. Mine was at a 5 and it seriously made me feel like crap daily.

    • @beautifullyaligned
      @beautifullyaligned Месяц назад +8

Thank you.

    Now this one i have to disagree with in regards to ferritin. Low ferritin levels contribute to greatly to hairloss…after suffering from a pulmonary embolism and a 2nd trimester miscarriage which i hemmoraged from and lost alot of blood, once we recovered from the hemoglobin loss and anemia, i was still suffering from anemia symptoms heart palpitations, extreme fatigue, losing hair, etc, we found that my ferritin levels were critically low- they were at 17! I did 2 round of iron infusions and supplementing with 1000mg of Vit C and oral liquid iron for 6 months. My levels increased from 17-273! So i have not needed to supplement anymore…All symptoms disappeared and my hair stopped falling out. As a hairsylist, ive also seen this in my clients and the common denominator was low ferritin. So while i love your content I have to disagree with the ferritin levels being close to zero is a good thing for everyone

Thank you.

This is why he can speak the truth about out broken unhealthcare system and the sham that is western medicine. Thank you Dr. Berg!! ❤

    Thank you for this eye-opening video on iron overload and its impact on aging and health! 🙌
    [2:30] I never realized how excess iron could be so harmful, driving oxidative stress and contributing to diseases like Alzheimer's and heart disease. The explanation about iron's reactivity and its connection to oxidative damage really stood out-what a crucial piece of the health puzzle!
    [5:45] The suggestion to monitor ferritin levels via blood tests is a game-changer. It's such a simple yet powerful way to stay proactive about our iron levels.
    [8:10] The role of copper and other trace minerals in balancing iron is another important takeaway. Incorporating curcumin, melatonin, and lactoferrin into a daily routine seems like a smart, natural way to reduce excess iron while supporting overall health.
    This video is a must-watch for anyone looking to optimize their health as they age. Thank you for shedding light on such an overlooked yet critical topic
