I love the little details. Burt handed that kid an empty gun, when the kid handed it back, he still checked to make sure it wasn't loaded.
That man is a PROFESSIONAL lol
Seen this 100 times and NEVER caught that. Great eye. Go Buckeyes!!!
"You see, we plan ahead. That way, we don't do anything right now. Earl explained it to me."
Words to live by.
Funny how it is little things that I appreciate in movies. In this one, it was the lighter. Our two cowboy buddies always have the one lighter and one pack of cigarettes that they share. Each item swapping between the two. So much so that neither knows who has what without patting their pockets. By the end, the seismologist ended up with the lighter. Showing that now she was part of their item-swapping friendship.
Tremors took most of its inspiration from the horror/sci-fi movies of the 1950s like THEM! and Tarantula, which featured giant monsters attacking people in remote locations in the southwest, hence the rather lighthearted story and characters mixed with horror elements.
Yes and the opening tune from “Rocky Horror Picture Show” makes references to that era, plus it’s a fun take on the Frankenstein story. He would get a kick out of it if he’s never seen it.
Grew up with this film, love it! Also, I showed it to my daughter yesterday for Halloween! Great balance of horror and comedy.
The sequals just get more and more ridiculous each time. I love them. They're a fun watch, and the growth of the ridiculous monster series continues haha.
I had to stop watching Tremors 2 half way through (or something like that) because it was so damn bad.
My favorite sequel was part 2. When you need and don't have it, you sing a different tune --Burt Gummer
Loved all the original sequels from the Stampede team. The recent ones suck. They're just run-of-the-mill cgi monster movies, without the wit and flare of the earlier ones.
I love how Bert is the only common thing, lol
Tremors 3 is the last decent one to me
"Can you fly you sucker?" "Don't joke like that, what if they could?" *Tremors 3 intensifies*
This movie is excellent. The movie feels strangely realistic, with characters that act more normally than in most horror movies and humor that is grounded in the events. Take some quasi-science fiction creatures, drop them in a small town and I feel like this is what really might happen!
The basement shootout scene is one of the best shootouts in film history. 🤣
This is basically a good, old-fashioned Creature Feature..kind of a throwback to earlier monster movies. And Creature Features are always a lot of fun to watch.
So glad you enjoyed this one.
💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙
I saw this in the theater when I was a kid, it was great....
I'm old now
When this movie came out, it did not belong to any one genre, so it did not go down well at the theatres, but once it came out on video it started to get a 'cult following'; low budget, no CGI and everything done with skill, it has sequels (one being a prequel).
The movie was an homage to 1950's -B Monster movies with the tropes just filtered thru a 1990's take on them.
This is a family favorite, such good characters and a lot of heart and humor.
On her nose she had Zinc Oxide paste used as a sun block.
"Can you fly?" Wait till part 3 lol.
CLASSIC!!! RIP FRED WARD!
The “pole vault” scene was filmed in the Alabama Hills, located in Lone Pine, CA. Lone Pine has a film museum with a Tremors exhibit. Filmmakers have been shooting in them thar hills since 1910s!
The little girl Mindy was also in Jurassic Park.
The White stuff on Rhonda's nose is a zinc oxide cream that is used as a sunblock.
Personally I think the first sequal is my favorite in the franchise but this is pretty much the perfect movie.
I love the second one but I don't like the rest
I love this franchise. Some of the later ones get really silly but they're still great fun.
Love this movie❤❤❤ RIP Fred Ward aka Earl😢
I was born out in Nevada and remember my older siblings scaring me with this movie. However, I loved it and so do. I agree it’s not mentioned enough. It’s a fun movie with a great creature. The second one I enjoy too but after that, they get pretty out there.
This being the cult classic that it is will always have a future audience to discover it. It's impossible for this movie to disappear into obscurity.
Ok what's more badass in this time? The gunfight with a Graboid in the basement or mowing the lawn with machine guns in Predator. Been all my mind in life....
Glad you enjoyed this. I saw it when it came out and has remained one of my favourite monster movies. It’s just such fun. ❤️
You've never seen sunblock? 🤣
23:00 "Don't even joke like that. What if it could?"
I sincerely recommend watching the third one lol. But before that the second one of course
So glad you reacted to this. Such a classic of a movie
That's country music legend Reba McIntyre as the wife. Maybe the best character in the movie.
The actress, Ariana Richards, who played the little girl, Mindy, was also in Jurassic Park as Hammond's granddaughter. It seems that she liked doing movies where she's running from giant monsters lol.
Love this franchise! I personally like the first 5 movies but recommend definitely watching at least the first 4 of them 😊
I always felt when Chang gets pulled under that it was an homage to Jaws when Quint gets taken under by the shark. So there’s your Jaws connection especially since the monsters are underground like a shark under water and you don’t see them for the first part of the movie. IMO the sequels are too goofy to really enjoy so I recommend you just do other movies instead.
The intermission is a nice "tea" break thanks bro!
I loved that it was just different. I think the monster was good enough, I liked how the plot set it up like all these weird things were happening in town and then they have the reveal
Kevin Bacon hammering on the fencing and missing was a joke on Ward.....
Tremors is a Cult-Classic that'll live forever. Great reaction bro! 👍🏿
When you're trying to avoid touching the ground to preserve your life is NOT the time to learn pole vaulting. It takes a LOT of practice; every time I've tried, I've fallen sideways. It's a good thing the stunt performers knew how.
Speaking of stunt performers, did you see how badly Burt landed when he fell out of the loader bucket? It looks like both his ankles must have been broken. But I've checked into it and haven't found any reports of injuries during filming.
10:52 I remember this part of the 90's had lots of product placement in movies and if I remember correctly the music you speak of was the actual music in the Mazda commercials as they jump into...her prominently featured Mazda truck.
Proud Mazda owner here. Not paid just sayin' 😉🚗
I always thought of it as Jaws light.
Saw this in the theater when i was 13 or 14 always loved it, love your reactions man keep em coming!
Ok, with the musical intermission. I'ma need a link to that song, good man.
I love Tremors, it's one of my favourite films. The monsters are dangerous without being unstoppable, and there isn't just one cheap trick to defeating them. The people are pretty clever once they figure out the rules, and aside from Melvin they're likeable. The sequels are good too, and even the TV series is fun, even if it's a bit wackier than the films.
i miss Fred Ward R.I.P.
You are the first one that reacted to this movie to notice the eggs I didn’t even notice the eggs till you said something lol
The Blob from 1988. Right up your alley!
This is just a perfect script that was well-executed. I feel that The Blob remake had a great script that was underappreciated.
Just came across your channel. Love your reaction! Subscribed!
It's a classic and the next 2 or 3 sequels are really good too.
In my favorites of all time! Great reaction!!
You know how they say that sometimes, the second movie is better than the first? Tremors is an exception to that. The first is significantly the best. Both Kevin Bacon and Reba McEntire have some of the best sassy lines in this whole movie.
Also, if you don't recognize the little girl who played Mindy, it's the same actress who played Lex Murphy in the first (only a cameo appearance in The Lost World) Jurassic Park movie 3 years after this one, Ariana Richards.
“Undertakers” - I like it!
Ive never thought of it as a horror movie.
AT YOUR NEXT COOKOUT Try using "Val and Earl's custom cooler" (a Toilet loaded with ice) for your beverages. What a conversation piece THAT would make!
Careful Valentine it's got a good 6 foot reach. And that kids, is how Covid guidelines got started.
Next time we'll be quarantined to our roofs for a year.
Great reaction fam, surprisingly the second movie was 🔥 as well. The 3rd kinda sorta, peace
2nd sequel is worth watching too
Tremors 2 is just as good.
Nothing like some good old pizza worms!
Yes these movies are so fun 👍🏼
I enjoyed this movie. It was fun
Kevin Bacon & Fred Ward had good chemistry
The worms are based on the Mongolian deathworm
the earlier sequels are great cause they have almost the same feel as the first one. but the later ones start to lose something kinda like how fast and furious evolved into james bond somehow.
The second one is great too. Also the third. one of the best cheesy horror comedy series ever made 😆
Great movie. I usually don't like horror movies but this is the exception. You should also see Stir of Echos 1999 a sci fi horror also with Kevin Bacon Also a great Fred Ward Rip movie is Remo Willams the adventure begins. I love the scene with the monster that attack the gun crazy couple it cracks me up :) . You got in into the wrong rec room :) .
People are divided on the sequels. IMO every single film in this franchise is great. Others have different opinions. That's cool. But every single movie in the franchise is a hit for me.
If that wasn't enough MrChang see big trouble in little china.
If you like horror comedy, you might want to check out Tucker and Dale vs Evil, really funny but gorey.
Imo they made it way less scary with the music they used. Like when they were pole vaulting on the rocks. Typically there would have been suspenseful music that out you on edge thinking they might not avoid the monsters. One bad jump and they are done. But they used up best fun music like it was just fun and games. Really changes the mood of the movie. Which I think was good because I’m it big into horror movies and this is a fun and enjoyable movie I watch all the time. But it’s amazing how the music can completely change a move.
Great reaction / review. I thought the second one was pretty good also.
I really like your Intermission idea. That is very smart.
As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
6:00 Who would stick around? The group of people getting chewed on😂 Lord knows certain people ain’t out there looking to get ate.
If I was a actor, I would want to go out like Walter. The best death in cinema history. Haha
Man I loved this movie. Loved the sequel too. Loathed the third one, was okay with the 4th one. No clue on any of the movies that came after that though.
U gotta do part 2
And I am still waiting for Sopranos 🥱
It's a fun one, isn't it? 😄 Thanks for sharing it!
I hope you react to the sequels at least through number four. 🙂
I remember watching the second and third part, but I'm not sure what the story was in those. I would remember if the movies were bad, that's for sure, so they must have been okay.
I’m subscribing in hopes you will do two and three
Val:🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨
Earl: 😐😳🙄
This creature feature is the GOAT. The writing is great. The characters are great and their interactions with each other are believable. It has humor, heroism, bravery. It's great.
Great Reaction 👍, you should try Tremors 2
the original trilogy were all good, then they just started running out of ideas and I think they kept having to operate off smaller and smaller budgets and by the 6th one it was definitely time to let the series die. but definitely should check out 2 and 3 just because.
As a diehard cult member, I enjoyed all of them, as well as the TV series. But what REALLY sent them downhill for me was the over reliance on bad cgi over practical effects.
21:44 Maybe one of the best interactions in movie history :)
im hopeing you watch the other 6 tremor films everyone always stops after the first 1
Watch part2 and stop there
Nice channel
Night of the Demons is a good watch
You know any movie is good if it starts out with Kevin Bacon taking a leak.
11:03 More like suckerpunched. 😁
Great reaction! It is very interesting to see your full detailed reaction to the films Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope and others. These are cool classic movies 👍🔥😃
You would love The Return of the living dead.
Hiii❤❤❤❤❤. I LOVE Kevin Bacon!!!
Then why don't you marry him?
@@positivelynegative9149Can't, already married 😂😂😂😂
@@yellowsubmarine1321 Pfft. Excuses.
the whole series is worth a watch and even the tv show if you can forgive being screwed by a low budget.
Great reaction part 2 is decent and worth the watch after that I would stop
Tremors 1, 2 and 3 were good (2 and 3 not as good as 1 but good in their own right), but after that.......ONLY watch if you're bored.
CAN YOU PLEASE REACT TO PART 2&3 AND THEN THE 13 EPISODE SERIES PLEASE
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
THERE ARE A TOTAL OF 7 MOVIES BUT NO ONE HAS REACTED TO THE TV SERIES YET AND I REALLY WANT TO SEE SOME ONE REACT TO IT AND ALSO LIKE ONLY 1 OR 2 PEOPLE HAVE REACTED TI THE 3RD MOVIE AND ALL 4 PARTS ARE REALLY GREAT!!!!
I don't like the "No reason for anyone to have that many guns" arguement because you could say that with anything.
How many movies do you own? Why? If you own one movie then why do you need more? How many pairs of shoes do you have? Why do people have more then one pair of shoes? Shoes cover your feet to protect them. You have one pair, no reason for more right? How many vehicles should a person own? Just one right? A vehicle is to take you from one place to another, why do people need more than one?
Oh, you mean those shoes are better for working in mud and water because they keep your feet dry and that pickup can haul things your car cant because it's bigger and more powerful, and you bought that other album from that other band because your friend said they like that music so you decided to try it out?
So you're saying that each one is different and there are different reasons why different people may want to gather a collection of these similar items other than the "only reason" to have them?
Interesting.
UPS delivered my new flamethrower today.😁👍🔥
The 2nd one is good, but the ones after lean heavily into CGI instead of practical effects. While i still enjoyed all of them the CGI is quite off putting and the writing isn't as good.
The sequels are for die hard fans. They're not on the same level.
I recommend the first two movies to anyone. Maybe even 3&4 if they're really into it. But they went downhill from there, especially with all the cheap cgi.
@@dr.burtgummerfan439i love the first 2 idc bout the rest of the series
@@verdellcouncil6616 The good points about 3&4 is that you learn the life cycle of the creatures.
I love that this is one of the more feminist movies of the late 80s and early 90s. The women save the men multiple times, It showed a love interest in a movie didn't have to be relegated to a set of rules like Kevins character had, and her entire character didn't need to be centered around her being the love interest, and it even had the scenes of the woman being the one to talk sense to her hysterical husband, when at that time normally the opposite would be shown. Even the one that died died doing all the right things given the information she had.
just don't watch the other ones.
