I don't understand why people like that line. Wonder Woman wouldn't say that imo only someone who is insecure about their autonomy would feel the need to express that. A confident person or "boss" would just shrug off someone trying to control them. I might like it better once I hear it in context, but still plenty of stuff to like in the trailer.
+bawniey but the thing is, saying, "I can't let you do this" to person whose first language is English expresses concern, and that comes through to us. But to someone like her, who, since she's not putting those words into the context we're used to, Steve Trevor is basically telling her that he's in control of what she does, and she's setting the record straight

I like how Wonder Woman's armor is such a contrast to the colors around her. Like the blue skirt and the red armor just shines in the grayand dark battlefield. It's so visually pleasing
After seeing this trailer, this really feels like the Wonder Woman movie we've been waiting so many years to see, that Gal Gadot is the Wonder Woman we've been waiting all these years for & that waiting all these years is going to end up being so worth it in the end.

Rahul Chaudhary No doubt, WW crushed it: the settings, costumes, tones, color palette, action, etc... can't wait. Esp love the Lasso, badass. But Strange is something artistically different than every superhero movie

I am beyond hype for this. I'm with Hector on this one, my most anticipated superhero movie through the next 12 months. (followed closely by Doctor Strange).

Best super hero movie ever made, by far. In fact, whatever is in 2nd place is miles behind it. WW deserves multiple awards, and at the very least, academy awards for best cinematography and best director. I have the Blu Ray and I've watched it over a dozen times, and I still tear up at various points. WW is a total master piece, and nothing short. It should go down in history as one of the best movies ever made, period.

Saw The Killing Joke in Cinema on Mon and they showed this before on the big screen and it looked amazing.

Dude I really love how positive and "hopeful" for these movies you are! Other people just react "to hate" on the movie, you give your honest opinions and criticize always trying to keep your hopes up and getting the best out of it. Best Superhero related channel "out there"!
loved your commentary guys, always interesting! Oh, that amazing shot of the Amazon shooting two arrows while flying backwards is not Artemis but General Antiope, played by Robin Wright. She also leads the Amazons warriors on horseback and stabs some dude with a bunch of arrows...amazing!
It is ingenious that Patty let Gal play straight and put Chris Pine make a humorous comment on it. Genuine and wonderful comedy!

I suspect that the Amazon leaping and firing arrows at the male soldiers was Antiope, played by Robin Wright. I can't say for sure, but I know Robin Wright, as Antiope, General of the Amazon army, is shown with a bow and arrow in the Entertainment Weekly promotional photo.
For those of you who don't know, she pronounces her last name articulating the 't' at the end. It is not silent. She was asked that very question in a recent interview.
I think WB learned a lot of lessons from their mistakes made with the BvS and Green Lantern movies. I just got a good feeling about this one. I'm betting it's going to be good. BvS underperformed by approximately $300 million because of glaring mistakes made. WB is not going to let that same thing happen again this time. WW has to be the movie that kicks the doors wide open for Justice League.

There's a video of Gal on Jimmy Kimmel telling him to say the 't' in "Gadot", but I guess you can pronounce it either way since Patty Jenkins says it differently

There are videos online of Gal herself saying Ga-DOT. However, it has always been assumed to be Gadot and if she spent her whole life correcting people she'd never get anything done. Maybe she's changed the pronunciation since she's become more popular, but it is a Hebrew name. It's Ga-DOT. Ironically it's a pseudo Frenchish pronunciation people are using. Even using basic English phonetics it would be Gadot. Even tho English is a weird language.

I was hoping that they would bring some footage to Hall H, but I definitely was not expecting something of this scale. The energy in the room during this trailer was just incredible- definitely my favorite footage that Warner Brothers brought that day.

Some names in Hebrew are not easy to pronounce but this one should be quite easy..

I love these guys' reaction, and I just had to go back and watch one of my favourite trailers being reacted to by them! It's things like Hector appreciating that "what I do is not up to you" line that most of the comments here are dismissing as not being that big of a deal... apart from everybody being entitled to an opinion, perspective plays a huge role too; i can guarantee with almost no error that most of the people for whom that line was huge were female, and for whom it wasn't were male.

Saturday was the greatest day of my life I can't believe we're getting a Wonder Woman movie

the name is gal gaddot- it means The small ripples that form parallel to the shore line.
No matter how you feel about it. Great time to be a DC fan. First ever live action movie comes out with Batman and Superman in it and they fight. First ever live action Wonder Woman movie coming out. First ever all bad guys driven comic film coming out. First ever live action Justice League movie.
I would say that this is my 2nd most anticipated DC movie(after Suicide Squad), but this was the best trailer at SDCC by far.
In my opinion, DC beats Marvel when it comes to both villains and female characters, and, even if you disagree, you can't deny that Marvel has been lacking in those two areas as far as their movies go. Releasing Suicide Squad this year and then Wonder Woman next year is a great 1-2 punch by DC, and an opportunity for them to show people what they have to offer that Marvel doesn't. Whereas, with Justice League, it just feels like Marvel has already been there and done that, and they probably did it better than DC is going to. So I actually think Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman are bigger deals for DC than Justice League.

Marvel has been a bit lacking in villains, though I personally did like ultron and am looking forward to seeing Mads Mikkleson in Dr. Strange. So far, I did find the villains in the DCEU kinda underwhelming, but will have to see what SS and WW bring. I think one of the problems marvel has is that a good number of their more iconic villains, like Dr. Doom, are locked behind other studios. Even James Gunn of GOTG wished he could explore a character like Kang the Conqueror, which the rights belongs to fox. I disagree about the female characters. Both black widow and scarlet witch have been pretty well received. It's just a shame that a female led solo movie for marvel won't come out till 2018. I do agree with you that suicide squad and wonder woman are bigger deals than JL.
MetallicNole Ultron seemed like a good idea that was poorly executed. I just never felt like he was the threat that he should have been. I think a big part of it is that Marvel goes a little too far with the humor, and it sometimes makes it hard for me to take the conflict that's going on in the movie seriously.
I think Marvel's problem is that they try to make both their heroes and their villains be funny. I don't think that works. The reason the Joker works is that Batman is such a serious character. When the villain is cracking jokes about something while the hero is being very serious, it makes the villain seem psychotic, but, if both the hero and the villain are throwing quips back and forth, it just seems cheesy.
I like Black Widow, but whenever they start going into her backstory about how she has blood on her hands that she needs to clean or whatever, I just get bored, and I have no interest in seeing a Black Widow solo movie. Scarlet Witch doesn't interest me at all.
You're right that DC hasn't really had a fantastic showing villains or female characters in their cinematic universe(which, so far, is just MoS and BvS) yet either. I'm saying that Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman are their chances to have those things, and excel in two areas where Marvel has fallen short.
Joseph F Humor works for characters like Tony Stark and GOTG. Whether or not Ultron was well execute is really a matter of opinion. It does look like there will be more serious characters introduced in phase 3 such as Dr. Strange and Black Panther. Hopefully they will improve on their villains as well. I do like Black Widow and Scarlet Witch as ensemble characters. Although a Black Widow movie could work if she had a strong supporting character like Hawkeye, similar to her role in winter soldier and they kept it in a grounded espionage genre.
I am looking forward to SS and WW, but remain cautiously optimistic. Hopefully the movies themselves will turn out good. The only thing I didn't like from the SS trailers were too much of the on the nose dialogue of "we're the bad guys". But those are just trailers and will give the movies the benefit of the doubt since we have some new directors taking them on.
MetallicNole I don't have time to reply to your whole post right now, but I just want to clarify that I'm not against humor. I just think Marvel overdoes it. DC's problem has been the opposite, in that they've had little to no humor. Marvel needs to real it in a little.
Black Panther was my favorite character in Civil War because he was serious, which was refreshing in a Marvel movie. Not every character should be comedic relief.
