Now pause the video at 0:50. It doesn't look like she any kind of strength at all. Don't get me wrong, Gadot is a good actor to play wonder woman. I just think she should have beefed up a bit more for the role.

There is no WW2 at all in this trailer. Steve Trevor is clearly undercover in a German pilots uniform. He steals the plane, shoots up the airfield and flies away where he crashes and washes up on WW's island.
The German General (there are 3 in the picture) and a German Admiral are all WW1 vintage, as are the clothes and hair (except WW), so this is her coming to this party to get somebody (sword down her back) the German General is Ares? Perhaps?

I don't get the complain about the color palette. Nobody complained about the desaturated look of the Captain America movies, even CW had a slight desaturated look. Plus the color for WW reminds me of Gladiator.
Captain America was a double rainbow compared to BvS and man of steel.... Superman should fly under blue skies not gray ones.

Capt's costumes had color, not to mention, Marvel has *always* put color in their costumes, that's why there were never complaints. Same for the costumes in the CW shows(its just night time in most of the episodes).
But the DC films. the reason DC was getting complaints until now, was because they were trying so hard to be dark, just for the sake of it. To the point that the music was grim, all the actors were emotionless, and heroes *besides* Batman, had dark tones in their costumes, even though that damn well didn't fit heroes like Superman & Wonder Woman.

I'm sorry, but nothing can be as bad as that movie, it had the weakest plot I've seen and the dialogue was sooo cringe at time. This looks alot better like you said, but we all know that trailers don't mean jack all. Having said that, this movie will have more playing ground since it is focused on one individual who hasn't been explored properly so there ain't as much expectation. And WW1 hasn't been explored that much either, unlike every super hero movie which always starts in WW2.

The tinting is common for period pieces. WW1 is often blue. WW2, it depends on where they are. For example. Now here's the thing, it does look great. But this is Captain America 1. They're doing cap 1. And... that doesn't really work as well. With Cap, he's just a guy who's at peak condition who's good with a big discuss. But it's implied in DC's film universe that before Man Of Steel you don't have super powered people. Pretty sure the invulnerable woman running around with the sword during WW1 is going to get noticed.

There were like, five of those in the entire movie. Just because they don't wear masks doesn't mean they aren't generic cannon fodder. Because they sure as hell looked like cannon fodder. Especially the mortar guy. Hell, I can guess how he dies. He'll be knocked into a mortar shell, or pile of them. That, or she'll kick or throw a mortar shell. Basically he'll die to a mortar shell. That's how generic they looked.

Dude, the Nazis actually had soldiers with that uber armour. Well, experimented. They can't stand up to an explosion, and an opposing force's first plan would be to just grenade the big armoured guy. Add a life span of useless to the cost, and you can see why it didn't get off the ground. Now, if they had, say, Asgardian tech....

Joe never said you couldn't enjoy other superheroes cause they are girls. Having a superhero movie which stars a WOMAN allows woman (other than yourself I guess) and little girls to relate to someone like themselves being on the big screen (in a gender sense).

It's a period piece, they usually tint the picture to give it an "older" and "washed out" look. It's very common, I think it looks fine.

Actually, American servicemen wore Brodie-pattern helmets in the First World War. However I think that those are British soldiers because they appear to be wearing British uniforms and carrying SMLE rifles.

Why does Wonder Woman have to be described as "A feminist character" or a "badass female" or a "strong female"? Why can't she just be a cool superhero? I think Meryl Streep has a point when she asked "When it's a male hero, why doesn't anyone ever say, 'He's a strong male'?" I also think its funny that he says Wonder Woman is his third favorite super hero but he doesn't know that her arch-enemy is the Cheetah, not "Tigra".

Well for something to be one of your favorite you dont have to know everything. Look at how many people said deadpool was their favorite but didnt know squat shit about it. They love the concept and thats why they consider them one of their fav.
Think of it this way: there's a lot of things I consider my 3rd place, that I don't really know too much about. There's a lot of things I consider second best, that I don't know too much about either. When people have a #1 thing, like saying Superman is their favorite but don't know who Lex Luthor is, THAT's a problem. XD Or mistaking the Joker for the Riddler, even though you say Batman's your favorite. But she is only his THIRD, which means there are two others he cares waaay more about But that's not to say that he still doesn't like WW.
The whole "strong female" thing is based on stereotypical gender attitudes which are still very prevalent today. What I mean is that women (and femininity) are typically shown in roles where they are physically weaker, less outspoken, less confident, and overall just less independent - and women who buck that tradition, instead of being shown as heroes, are often instead cast as villains. A character like Wonder Woman breaks the mold because she is both strong and likable, which is not often seen.
And the reason why male heroes aren't described as "strong males" in comparison is because strength is viewed as a default male characteristic. Therefore, saying a male hero is strong is redundant. Weak males are the exception to the rule, so they are described as weak males, but all other male characters are immediately associated with innate strength (masculinity).
I'm not saying that any of those ideas is the proper way to think, in my opinion such gender stereotypes are flawed, damaging, and horribly outdated. But, unfortunately, they still persist in society.
Although I understand the point that you quote, it is important to remember that female characters have been characterized as objects (especially in the DCU). To have a strong female character is to have a female character that isn't falling to the status quo. There is nothing wrong with celebrating that.
I believe the point that you quote was stating the injustice of how imbalanced the scales are.

Gina's a little too short to play Wonder Woman, I think. I loved Gina as Angel Dust in Deadpool, though.

That's not really saying much, Gal is bottom of the barrel actress wise. She's pretty and that's about it, and her only movies of note are the insipid fast and furious series. Maybe this will show off some unseen talent, and I hope so because we need a really good Wonder Woman portrayal.

Gal Gadot was chosen for the role of Wonder Woman due to her Mediterranean heritage (she is Israeli) and to her having a military background (she served in the Israel Defense Forces for two years).

She's pretty curvy and skinny. It works for her. Curvy does not mean fat or overweight like some women would lead you to believe. Curvy is equivalent to an hourglass figure. Which pretty much only works if you're fit or petite, or with just a little bit of fat, which is not overweight BMI wise.

They show the Fokker E3 in the trailer, it's a german WW1 fighter craft with "one deck", they also operated the double decked aircraft. The Red Barron is a famous character in WW1 using this type of aircraft.

The Chris Pine character appears to be in the 'Lafayette Escadrille,' which was the American volunteer flying corps in the Great War.

@AngryJoeShow the blue shade shows they were using only natural lighting in that scene. They might be able to tweak it but with no artificial light source that will be hard.

I was hoping that Snyder had no hand in it. However if he's not directing it, it may still be good. However Snyder's writing is always uninspired, being as most of his movies are directly based off of graphic novels. I'm still gonna see it, but my hopes have been lowered.

I really like your channel and all, but I think some of the criticisms levelled at this trailer, in this video, are a bit...thin and nitpicks. I mean, this is a superhero movie, and seeing superpowered beings doing things that normal humans can't do, and it's not realistic enough? Of course it's not realistic, they're superpowered beings - seen any superpowered beings in your travels lately?
The colour correction being complained about in the scene when Wonder Woman is on horseback, doesn't take into consideration the time of day the scene is taking place in. It's not a sunny bright day, it's getting dark and night is almost falling, and so the colour correction there is to suit the time of day.

The blue colour tint is supposed to show that its night time or early morning. Its called "Day for Night". Shoot in the daytime for ease and shade it dark for night effect.
I don't think Gal Godot even had the power to say "I don't want to bulk up". The studios control that sort of stuff, they tell their actors what they have to look like and what diets and workout plans they'll be on in order to tell the story they want. So if Joe's going to criticize the lack of muscle on Godot, it's not cool to say "She just didn't put the work in."
Imagine if Battlefield 1 would have a Wonder Woman game mode feature where you can play as Wonder Woman if you are on the losing team so it can balance things out. You would be extremely OP and be able to block tank shells with your shield.

Gina Carano would have made an amazing-looking Wonder Woman. No idea if her acting could have held up, but we don't know how this acting will be either.

Gina could of took acting classes to up her acting chops, and she looks the part while this 2lb Gal does not, way to skinny and not Believable at all while fighting, hard pass on this shit.

I loved Captain America: First Avenger, but Wonder Woman would eat him alive.
I loved the trailer but for some reason Its still hard for me to get over her slim build. In wonder woman that I know from the comics and animated works she is tone as F#CK, if not ripped. When shes moving around n fighting, her build isnt an issue cause shes flexing n u can see some definition. Its a small thing but wonder woman being built is inline with her characters. She is FROM a WARRIOR RACE OF AMAZONS. THEY ARE WARRIORS, and they should have warrior builds. But besides that she looks great in the costume, she even looks like wonder woman if she was real. Again its just her build that kind of takes me out of it. When u see Henry Cavil without his costume, the first thing that pops into my head is "That IS SUPERMAN", and even more so when he puts on the costume. The same can be said for Ben Afflick, aesthetically, He IS Bruce Wayne. I really just want to be able to say the same for Gal Gadot. Do u guys feel the same? Or maybe its just me

I really don't understand why people are so anal about her body type. So yeah she's not packing body builder muscle's but at least she isn't a stick anymore. As for hiring someone with more muscle tone it takes more then just looks to make a good movie. yeah someone may just look perfect for the part but if their acting ability sticks the movie will still blow.

Ill admit at first it bothered me a little. But once I saw she at least was not a skinny as she was I was less bothered and after considering the point I was talking about above about acting ability it stopped bothering me altogether.
the thing is prior to BvS she had shown NOTHING of value (acting chops) that could explain why theyd chosen a smaller WW than most want. Can't help but feel like Hollywood being same old self and casting a standard beauty cuz that's what they think media should be like. If she had been a talented actress prior to the casting, the reactions would've been far more muted. Wonder Woman is the one true opportunity to break that stupid mold Hollywood created and it's sad they didn't do it.
Now it looks like her casting might be working out and if she truly is good as Wonder Woman, I think the majority of us against her casting will rejoice while still wishing they would've break that said mold. The movie is looking good and I'm an excited feminist alright ^_^

Admittedly I would have to agree she really didn't show much acting ability and to be honest she still didn't in BvS. She was barely in it if you really think about it.
But maybe they saw something we didn't. Chances are they would have more experience finding the right actors for their movies then we would.
But I still maintain we are more worried about looks then we should be. If I was a feminist I'd be more happy about the fact there is even going to be A WW movie at all. Shows how far Hollywood has come. Probably not far enough though.
