The thing I hate about the movie is how leading up to its release, the actresses were saying how men hate the movie because they're sad and childish. But in the movie, they shit on men, insult all male characters, and shoot the main villain in the dick. Double, fucking, standards.

But hey, it served as an interesting social experiment. Now we know how a movie, no matter how shitty it is, can be seen as great and worthy of pretty reasonable scores simply because the protagonists are women.
Replace the women in the movie with men and tell me if it wouldn't get fucking awful scores.
There is a rumor Kristen Wig didn't like it either, but they signed an agreement not to say anything bad about it.
Are you going to say that its no longer alright to like Bill Murray's character from the first two movies, Peter Venkman, because he's a date rapist? Because if you're not prepared to say that then you shouldn't be upset that they shot a guy in the dick, which happens in movies a lot. You know, like the original Robocop?

What exactly was surprising about Melissa McCarthy not being good? She can't act, and she has no diversity in her comedy. Every movie she's in, she does slapstick, and a lot of yelling and screaming, and that's it. I've never seen a movie with her in it where I wasn't sick of her by the end of it. Not sure how she ever managed any kind of acting career.

When the first glimmers of light hit the fact of our team of ghost busters, we were awed at the glory and talent presented. We supported, and we were rewarded with their gift.
Sadly, the lightning strike of brilliance could not strike twice. The second film could not stand up to par of the first. However, could it have? Ghost busters had out-done itself for a second run so soon.
Then came the fans, the nods, the tips of the hat. The world has more than given their appreciation though the years with new creations, with subtle hints or references to the movie.
Then, greed and power took hold. When produces attempt to direct the direction of a movie, we see what could have been a wonderful filmed version of the video game turned to a director's playing. The idea of the ghost busters was poisoned, beaten, and forced into a skin it couldn't exist in. That is why if we want the ghost busters name to life on, we have to let it pass as the hero it was to begin with. Let the franchise be remembered, not rewritten more.

In terms of the film itself, you guys were the 3rd review I watched on RUclips that described the film as: "An Extended SNL skit". When 3 independent reviewers say the same damn thing, it tells you that something's wrong. Horribly wrong!

I've watched only one reviewer(s). Doug Walker with his brother. They didn't hate it, didn't like it, and I value their opinion over the Joe's and Del's opinions. Mostly because Doug's reviews of things(even as the NC) are usually on-fuckin'-point, and even says that they're terrible or good. He doesn't let his nostalgic glasses cloud his view of a reboot too much. He goes into it with an open mind.
Joe is on the opposite end. Much like Del and Other Joe. They have let their nostalgia cloud their views so badly, they let their anger shroud everything that could've been positive in the movie.
I haven't seen it yet, and I hope to be like Doug and not let my nostalgia for a movie cloud my judgement.

Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Dan Ackroyd were SNL and Second City veterans and Bill and Harold was a great pair in Stripes. Harold was the perfect straight man. The girls in Ghostbusters 2016 had none of that. This was a pure gender swap.

I think that score is a better indicator of good the movie is than anything in this review was.

I actually loved it. It was smart, witty, and fucking hilarious. What makes it great is how much heart it has. It's about time we saw this property handled correctly. I recommend everyone watch Deadpool. Easily my favorite comedy of the year

There's this one scene in the original Ghostbusters when Ray and Winston are inside Ecto 1 and talk about the probability of the end of the world. That one scene is 100 times better than this movie because the characters are believable and feel real.

Feminazis might promote and defend it, but true feminists and any writer worth their salt would say that it's four "ms. male characters" using their token status as filler for character. It's all the things we hate, and if you hate it too, it's for good reason. It's either built from the ground up, or got watered down to a strawman version of the feminist position.
It's not that we want all characters to be female, (the people behind the film don't seem to get that) it's that we want female characters to be well-written, instead of rewards or motivations, or cardboard cutouts of sex-dolls. It's fine in porn/hentai, it's just creepy when you see it everywhere else.

When they actually create a character that is an engage 3dimensional person, and is female, everyone wins.. But then some asshat has to make it a point that she's tough, and you end up with a Ms. Man running around acting like Arnold, or a Bruce Lee, and everyone loses.
You want a good strong female lead take Faye Grant in the 80's mini series V. She was a character written as a leader, a doctor, an unwilling resistance fighter, oh and by the way she's female. But she didn't act like Ms Han Solo, or Ms General Patton. People need to quit with the labels and divisionist thinking, and get back to telling a decent goddamn story.
I wouldn't take RottenTomatoes seriously, as their reviews could be absolute bullshit at times. They gave Rambo a review of 37%, and I call bullshit because Rambo was a good-ass movie! I wouldn't be surprised if those feminists bribed certain critics to say good reviews.

Rotten tomatoe doesn't review they take an average from existing critic reviews and then have a consensus based on that averaged score. As does metacritic.
Also it seems that a lot of critics gave a more favorable score to the movie than they would normally have because of fear of backlash and being labeled as misogynist. This happened to RUclipsr James Rolf (angry video game nerd) who said he didn't want to see the movie and never mentioned the reason was that the cast was women yet he was labeled a sexist pig. Comicbookgirl19 another RUclipsr said much of the same but didn't get attacked presumably because she is a woman. I think she even says that's probably what happened and she defends James and calls out people attacking him.

When I saw the first reviews I thought that everyone was being paid by Sony but after a while I realized something sad, that many of the people giving it a good score are just doing it to please the masses or because they are affraid of the backlash.

The scary thing is that this is how I think the writers remember the original movies.
Originally, Ivan Reitman wanted the new Ghostbusters to be students of the original gang. Right there, is already a better setup than this. But Sony and producer Amy Pascal upper handed Reitman’s creative ideas with this train-wreck movie.
