“Wonder Woman” hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
Joining Gadot in the international cast are Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui. Jenkins directs the film from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, story by Zack Snyder & Allan Heinberg, based on characters from DC Entertainment. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston. I got the honor to meet gal a few years ago and she really is one of the most amazing people I've ever met, she was so nice and kind, she smiled to everyone around her with her big contagious smile, as gorgeous as she is on screen she's even more gorgeous in real life, she literally hugged me for like 10 minutes straight and kept telling me how cute and beautiful I am, she really is the kindest person and I couldn't be happier for her and all she's achieved, she really IS Wonder Woman, I could never think of a better Wonder Woman than her.
I was very skeptical of her casting at first, but now she has won me over completely. The graceful strength she projects in the trailer, both mentally and physically, is 100% Wonder Woman.

***** Something can't be for everybody if that is your angle from the start or how you chose to see it. As a kid there was nothing stopping me from thinking Lara Croft or Samus were awesome and wanting to do what they did so obviously having female protagonists doesn't automatically exclude males from being able to relate or look up to them and vice versa.
If you specifically make a movie for a certain demographic then obviously it's not for everyone. However if you can make a tvshow with a dwarf that turns out to be the most popular character and have it appeal to all races, genders and cultures why can't you have a woman protagonist and have her appeal to all races, cultures and genders? IF you can't do it that can only mean either a lack of effort, narrow-mindedness or lack of skill as a story teller.

I'd also like to apologize as it seems I've mistaken you for a bitter ghostbro. In regard to your reply, I was mainly trying to argue the very boring fact that you will never be able to please everybody. Even making a movie that is so good that it makes most sane people just not care what gender or sexual orientation the main character has, will still leave those cold who are full of hatred and bigotry. And even fairly solid popcorn fare like the Marvel movies will not be able to excite every normal, discerning moviegoer.
So I would try not to be to worried if even a great movie occasionally just doesn't make your bunny hopp. Or, if somebody else feels that way. Whether something is good art, or bad, and whether you like it, or not, can be two very different things.
Hmm, I think I've lost my thread here, somewhere. I had it a minute ago.
Let me just finish by saying something you'll probably agree with. I want this movie to be good, SO HARD! I want it to be the kind of movie I was describing earlier. One that is so good it will speak for itself.
But whether it reaches that height, or not, it will still be just one movie. It will not preclude other movies from being made, better, OR worse ones, and it will not take away anybody's own interpretation of the character and what it should be. Because no movie can do that. Heck, not even the prequels managed to take away my love for Star Wars! ;)

My point was, if you start by already intentionally excluding certain demographics and promoting it that way, that can only go one way. Even when taking into account you can't possibly include every group or demographic your aim should be to make a relatable protagonist/s independently of gender, race or sexuality. I certainly am really glad they seem to be aiming to do exactly that and I hope it turns out better than anyone would expect.
I would love to see a Metroid movie and it wouldn't be far fetched to think a good wonder woman movie can somehow be the beginning of a road that leads to it in the distant future so I'm hoping it does awesome xD

The music that is playing when Patty Jenkins is introducing the panel and they walk out is superb. I hope it's part of the score for Wonder Woman, and if it is, it's nothing short of flawless for the film.
A lot of people like to hate on DC and/or Marvel but when you watch these panels and see the brilliant people that bring these stories to life and how passionate and dedicated they are it's really inspiring. And it really annoys me when people don't respect how hard people work on either side. Like, FFS these people are amazing!

I'm well aware that not every movie is great or even good. And it's a fair comment that it's all a matter of opinion. I just think it's wrong to hate either Marvel or DC for an unjustified reason. I love how Gal Gadot responds to the little girl's question as she would to an adult. Wish we'd have gotten her response to the first question too. Must have been a bit easier for her seeing as she was in the military for two years. Overall it's obvious these people really care about the project... makes me even more excited to see it!
I must admit I had reservations when Gadot was first cast. I was completely unfamiliar with her work and my love of the heroine wanted nothing but the best movie for Wonder Woman. But the more I see of Gadot the more I realize the error of my trepidation. The way Gadot is approaching such an iconic character has earned my respect. I can't imagine the amount of pressure and weight she must feel to get it right. Yet just like Wonder Woman, she carries all of that weight with the strength, grace and beauty of Diana Prince.
I am a big fan of Gal Gadot now and I so eagerly look forward to seeing this movie.
People tend to forget what Wonder Woman actually symbolizes, not just looks, muscles or boobs. But more.
