    Damn I just love Freightliners, especially those classic 1980s and 1990s off-road and heavy duty trucks! Same with Western Star trucks like the 6900XD.

    Freightliner Cascadia is available in Australia. The reason why freightliner is popular in USA is because it's owned by Daimler AG. Even Bharatbenz is also part of Daimler.

    It is interesting how FPT is not seen in the truck market. Allthough, you see them in farming or construction industry.

    • @brianb-p6586
      @brianb-p6586 6 месяцев назад

      IVECO's FPT division only builds powertrain components, not trucks. Since IVECO is not in the North American truck market (other than as Nikola trucks), FPT isn't in it, either.

    • @brianb-p6586
      @brianb-p6586 6 месяцев назад

      Similar to FPT, but in only engines, Scania does not sell trucks in North America but does sell engines for off-highway use.
      Oshkosh uses Scania engines in some airport rescue and fire fighting (ARFF) apparatus and snow blowers - the DC16 V8 in the fire apparatus. They previously used Deutz TCD V8's - another Euro engine maker that doesn't sell trucks in North America.

      @@brianb-p6586 Scania sells both industrial and marine engines in the US. The industrial engines are used for different purposes like those you mentioned and for generators etc. Just the same way Caterpillar and Cummins engines are used in Europe.

    • @BlackSeaRC

      Ford hasn't produced heavy-duty semi-trucks in USA for many years. The L-Series (Loiusville/Aeromax) was produced until 1998. The Ford heavy-duty truck product line was sold to Freightliner in 1996. The trucks were then built under the Sterling brand until being discontinued in 2009. Ford Trucks in Türkiye produces modern cab-over semi-trucks for European, African and Asian markets.
