This video had me dying because yes, I was also REALLY excited for this (also after the first trailer, not the second) and I did seek it out on a Dolby screen (to its credit, the movie looked and sounded great in that auditorium). There were 5 (!) of us in a normal-time opening-weekend screening. We were all laughing throughout the whole movie which definitely made it more memorable than it should have. I did like the final 30 minutes when we got to see the mega-structure and we learned about our ancestors. I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff, but I do agree that the writing from start to finish was atrocious. Patrick and Halle looked AMAZING though (I think the best Patrick Wilson has ever looked) and a few shots of the moon entering the atmosphere were screen-saver gorgeous. But once they tried to launch a retired space shuttle into orbit and all of the NASA employees went home...? I basically checked out. The biggest crime is that the movie cost a ridiculous amount of money, and made zilch, so we're not going to be seeing movies like this made much anymore. Bummer. LOVED this amazing video and yes, PLEASE continue to do more non-horror stuff as well! You are so good.
Your theater experience is exactly why I simply quit going to theaters! I would rather have a decent tv and sound system at home where I can enjoy a film in peace.
My experience going into this movie was that we were the only two people in the theater. We got there and there was one other family...who picked their seats. Directly. Next. To. Us. Was not a fun start...LOL. I thought this movie was way over the top and silly. It was very entertaining but certainly not a thought provoking SF movie by any stretch. Love Patrick Wilson, no shade. But definitely not what I was expecting.
Non horror videos are welcome in my opinión, do what ever you please and are passionate about, I am not a huge horror fan but I still watch because I like your personality so I’m sure the hard core horror fans could like non horror videos because it’s still you.
I think I have anger issues and your movie theater experience pissed me off Lol if I was with you I’d probably would have said something to them and it probably would make things worse 😅😂 so good on you two for being the bigger and better people ! They clearly were looking for a reaction
I love how in this world the minute that the atmosphere is punctured gravity ceases to exist Also, if you want a decent space movie with neat visuals, I highly recommend Europa Report if you haven't seen it yet
Yes! I was also so disappointed, and I'm generally here for cheesy ridiculous disaster movies. But the writing was so poor with weird casting choices, and I just couldn't get over the painfully obvious financial influences. Emmerich couldn't get traditional studio funding for this one and so the main financier was a Chinese company--and so we got some just BIZARRE propaganda bits (worse than even some of the laughable ones we've seen in Disney movies) and insertion of the "foreign exchange student." (which they got 100% factually wrong--that used to be my day job lol) I'm super concerned that poor girl never called her parents. Plus the eye-roll inducing shoving it down your throat Lexus product placement. And lord that really on the nose Karen joke. Why. But writing wise, what bugged me a LOT was the movie TELLING us over and over again THEY'RE PARENTS OK. WE CARE ABOUT THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE PARENTS. THEY HAVE KIDS. STAKES. And then... all those parents left their damn kids lolllllll. Just thin, badly written characterization and shitty emotional stakes. And I like Patrick Wilson generally but he was so miscast in this.
omg hey! I didn’t know you watch my videos, love your videos as a fellow writer :) and yes completely agree with all of this, the whole case was so strange for this movie!

People who act like that couple get a little floor spice on their food, not to mention a few more things that shall remain nameless. 🤔 Why don't they believe it?
2022 started off with a BANG with Moonfall being the first movie of the year I fully regret taking the time (and spending the money) to watch (to give you some context, there was only one movie in 2021 that I felt that way about - The Green Knight). What a mess this film was. I went home and immediate filmed a scathing review; that's how annoyed I was.
Thank you for this video. You saved me from disappointment lol I was very much like you looking forward to seeing this movie and it sounds like we had very similar expectations for it. Sad that it didn't come through! Appreciate you taking the time to talk about it though!
I don’t go to the theater often, because I’m a magnet for those kind of people. If there’s a kicker, loud talker, loud chewer, distracting person they’ll find me. It ruins the experience a little, so lately I just watch stuff at home.
I actually watched this movie because you mentioned how much you were looking forward to it haha So I went with pretty low expectations due to so many bad reviews, and that helped me enjoy it....? Completely predictable and not profound at all. But it was a good time for me haha It also helped that it was only my gf and I in the whole screening lol
I oddly have the idea of the science fiction apocalypse type disaster movies still slightly in a horror type category for me personally, that's only my opinion. Guess I'll be renting this or watching it stream service
Same, I've been burnt out on horror movies since last August, it really sucked because I love Halloween it's my favorite time of year and I couldn't watch any movies to really get in the spirit for it. I've just now slowly started to get back in the mood for horror films.
Had a blast watching this with a little shroom action. Some of the cheesiest dialogue but such a wild ride. It was a great escape movie with eye candy and big ideas. Less science more fiction for sure but it took me back to when Independence Day came out and changed disaster movies forever.
I also had a bad movie experience recently! Two boys, maybe 12 years old were sitting next to my group and I and were talking, on their phones, and taking selfies for the first ten minutes into the film. I asked them nicely to quiet down which they did for only like five minutes... then they started up again, I asked them again and they, again, quieted down. When they started again I left my seat (we were all the way at the back\top of the theater too! In row 8!) to get an employee and they did listen to the employee (thank god). I can fault them only some since they were kids, but this was a new movie on the opening weekend. Like, come on, guys!
Excellent video. I really enjoyed it. I'd like to say that the last time my wife and I went to the theater to watch a movie it was Spider-Man and the people behind us kept kicking our chairs as well and throughout the entire movie people were walking back and forth to leave to go to the bathroom and they would hit the back of our chairs with their feet. It was an awful experience and now we don't feel like going back to the theater again.
A little off topic but when you're talking about apocalyptic movies and whatnot, got me thinking, my favorite end of the world movie is Seeking a Friend For the End of the World. As far as disaster movies go it just felt so real, definitely recommend if you haven't already seen it
I did not have this movie on my radar at all, but Penguinz0 posted a video ‘stupidest movie I ever seen’ or something like that, I clicked on it, he said Moonfall, and said he was gonna get into spoilers, so I was like ‘I wanna go see this movie’ me, my mom, and my sister(s) went to the mall, after a couple hours of being there I asked my mom if I can go see a movie she asked what movie, I showed her, then I ended up going (btw I went by myself and my mom and my sister went to see sing 2, also it was my first time going to see a movie alone) long story short I loved it, it’s so bonkers and Bat Shit Crazy I just couldn’t help but love it
I felt so alone in thinking that this movie was overhyped- I am glad to hear I wasn't the only one. I had a feeling that it wasn't going to be an actual space movie-- and we REALLY DO need more space movies! I hope there's a resurgence of them soon. I guess to look on the bright side, the longer we wait, the better the technology will be behind the movie-magic possibilities. One thing I will suggest though that I watched recently on Netflix is The Silent Sea. I'm not 100% sure if you'd like it, but it involves a crew going to the moon to retrieve a deadly water sample. It's science-y and fantasy as well, with a good amount of suspense. There's some great imagery and the score was really well done as well, and I loved the ending. I highly recommend checking it out!! If you do, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it if you have the time to reply here and let me know :)
I was also super pumped about Moonfall and to be perfectly honest, aftee your review, I think I am even more excited? I love hate watching stuff. It's sad that it ended up being such a disapointment but we still have Sunshine and Interstellar, right? As for what to watch, I just rewatched Deep Impact a couple of weeks ago and that movie is just so good still! It hits the right emotional beats every single time. I think it would be a nice palate cleanser for you, if you feel like it. Thanks for the good laughs, this video made my day.
Normally I love Disaster movies, but once I heard the concept of this one, I just wasn't on board. At least with Day After Tomorrow and 2012, I can see those things happening, but Moonfall, not so much. So yeah I never saw it, plus I have very little faith in Hollywood to create something good anymore (I am seriously burnt out when it comes to Hollywood cinema) and I'd rather save my money for things I actually need because at the end of the day, movies are still a want, not a need. Also I am SO sorry to hear about your movie experience. As someone who's worked in the restaurant business in the past (one was an Asian Stir Fry cafe and the other a Sub sandwich place like Subway), I have delt with those kinds of customers, which are rare, but you always remember them. All I can say is, I hope that one server was okay.
Your experience is exactly why I don't go to the theater anymore. I can't count how many times I had one these seat kicker behind me. Now, I'd rather just watch my movies at home.
Hey Sarah! Have you read the Expanse books, or watched the show? Sorry if you've addressed this one somewhere (I no longer have social media so i can only see your RUclips content). I think you'd LOVE IT. The way the books/show explore aliens and space travel is outstanding. It's described as a space opera, and it's truly so, so good!
The effects were good, but the plot was all over the place and the acting of some people💀 I literally expected a disaster movie but then they brought the aliens !?! Yeah, that’s a no
Oh my gosh I don’t know why I haven’t thought about it before but have you seen the two sentence horror stories on Netflix? Some of them are super good but I would love to hear your take and maybe a ranking of the stories? I love you’re channel and can’t wait to see more!
I 100% agree with everything you said. My best friend tried to get me to like it and I was like, welp… I think the moon IS artificial and KC was my fave character. That’s all I got. 🤷🏽♀️
While you were talking about the movie I was just thinking of (forgive me) Majora's Mask the whole time. I guess the explanation for why that moon is falling is better and SPOILERS: You even go inside the moon at the end and it sure is something! Haha my favorite game ever.
I hate those kind of people and it’s so funny how you said : you’re literally coming to a 5$ cinema . Stop . This movie it’s saved by its visual because character and writing wise. Welllllll If I’m honest , I was looking forward watching this just because Patrick Wilson was staring and we haven’t seen him much outside horror and YES definitely more videos like this
I can't say that I agree with your take for the most part but can appreciate your perspective given your expectations going in. That has happened to me several times when I was hoping or expecting a movie to be a certain way but it ended up not being what I thought it could or should be. Being a Roland Emmerich film, I actually went into this one with fairly low expectations but felt in the end that it was pretty decent and I was entertained. The ending was a bit weak I agree and I thought there were some pacing issues. I did enjoy the story, script, and humour, as well as the visuals and sound. As for the movie going experience, well, this is why I have a big screen TV at home and sound that I am mostly happy with, although it is nice to go to the movies here and there. I always go into it hoping for a good experience and thankfully it generally is, although not always! An occasional non-horror review from you would be awesome.
You ask if there is any non horror but sci fi movie or maybe a comic would nice. Just recently got in your works and love your rants and how review different movies and more specifically horror. I do have 2 4 u might want to see is "The Batman" comes this Friday but of course if don't like Batman which be weird cause he usually #2 or #1 depends who u ask. Now next Friday on the 11th I believe is "The Adam Project" a another futuristic movie. Comes out limited theatres but would cross the globe on Netflix. They both seem really good. There u go
LOL, I feel you on this one. I just hope you get a movie you actually get to like soon! Edit to add: I can't stop thinking about those horrible people! Ewwww!
From time to time it would nice to hear about new films you loved. I also loved THE LAST DUEL and would have been more keen to hear your opinions on it rather than the tear down of another schlocky disaster from Emmerich.
@14:16 March of the Emperor moment. (OK, if you're not French, you don't know what a "March of the Emperor moment" is. "March of the Emperor" (or "March of the Penguins") is a documentary about Emperor Penguins (it won the Oscar for best documentary in 2006). In France, there was a funny TV ad with a guy who had just seen this movie and explaining it to another guy. The second guy has no idea that the movie is about penguins, so when his friend tells him about an "Emperor", he imagines a man dressed like Napoleon, walking in Antarctica, with other Emperors, etc... Now you understand what I mean by "March of the Emperor moment". :-)
Have yet to see 'Moonfall', but from everything I'm hearing, it sounds very off-the-rails in a lot of the... wrong ways? Though it isn't a movie, I'd actually recommend a series of short films on RUclips made by Kris Straub called 'Local 58', if you haven't seen those. It's about a somewhat similar threat (without saying or spoiling much), but it's executed in a unique and - in my opinion - effectively terrifying way. It arguably started what's known as the "analog horror" genre, or at least the webvideo version of it. When I first saw the teaser for 'Moonfall', my first reaction was "Oh... So they tried to make a Local 58 movie, eh?" Liked the review, and that theater experience you recalled makes me think of the crap I deal w/ working at a movie theater, haha.
I'd absolutely love to see her review/watch analog horror on youtube. It reminds me lot of found footage, but a bit more expanded. A lot of it is based in 80s-90s, but it's not bad. Stuff like Local 58, Mandela Catalog, the Backrooms, the Walten Files, etc.
I love your movie reviews and rants so much! The first trailer for MoonFall was really good I was excited but it was such a let down I expected it to be as good as 2012 or San Andreas but it’s way worse
That’s exactly why I don’t like going to theaters anymore! People are rude and don’t know how to act. I would have taken the martini from his rude non-thank you giving ass and dumped it on him. Praise you for holding back and being civil.
The main premise sounds VERY similar to the made for TV movie, impact, where the moon is shifted off course due to a brown dwarf colliding with the moon
I loved the movie. I think it's all about expectations. After the trailer I knew that I couldn't take this movie seriously, a bit like the fast & furious films. It's a nice movie to just turn your brain off an laugh along. My girlfriend and I were both super entertained and sometimes thats all I need 😁
Can't say it was my pick of the year (Batman!) but it actually was one I was looking forward too. Even the lesser ones (San Andreas f.e) tend to be enjoyable in the disaster genre and Armageddon, 2012, Interstellar or older ones are genuinly 'classics' for me that you can watch over and over again. Still...I'll watch this, but going in not expecting too much. (and on streaming).
I kinda enjoyed Moonfall because it was so insane. I only saw the trailer with the frankly shocking humour so knew it wasn't going to be that much of a serious film. I agree the writing was horrific but there is just not many other films that have come out recently with the same absolutely crazy story line as a long time watcher of Ancient Aliens and crackpot theories I really enjoyed it. 2/5 stars.
*_"X" (Slasher), "The Batman"(sorta Horror, more Thriller), "Everything Everywhere All At Once"(Sci-Fi, trippy adventure?), "Morbius"(the start of Marvel's forte into "Horror"), "Moon Knight" (TV, a tie with Morbius, Marvels forte into "Horror"), "65"(Sci-Fi Horror), "The Northman"(Gore, but not Horror). Don't waste time on the new TCM on Netflix, not even a negative review, that would be even more a waste of time, like the movie is._*

When I saw Spider-Man a woman with her large family walked through the entire movie passing out juice bags, unlimited snacks, and wiping faces. I’m sure you think these kids were 2 yrs old but no. There was no kid there younger than 10. I had to ask her to sit down. 2hrs of walking was all I could take. The last 30 minutes she spent whisper/yelling to the kids asking if they needed anything. 😖
As a man if I heard a another male order a martini I would immediately know this is a person I would never hang out with. I cried laughing during Malignant & if someone was kicking my chair I would have looked back & said "how's your martini big boy" . I will take your word on this movie as I've heard the same opinions about this movie. Hollywood has gone down hill lately. Remakes no one asked for. Thinking the public wants woke material when not one person does. its actually terrible. I'll save my money & not buy this one
It's not a horror movie but a crime drama that comes out the 18th it's the outfit !! It stars mark rylance, Dylan O'Brien, Zoey deutch and Johnny flynn and it's kinda gory and thriller and I've heard it's pretty good so I recommend you watch it !! And obviously review it in your channel I love this kind of videos💖

I love how in this world the minute that the atmosphere is punctured gravity ceases to exist
Also, if you want a decent space movie with neat visuals, I highly recommend Europa Report if you haven't seen it yet
I second Europa Report
And Patrick's kid lifting a tree because the Moon's orbital pull gave him super-strength with the lack of gravity (or whatever). LOL. So bad.
omg hey! I didn’t know you watch my videos, love your videos as a fellow writer :) and yes completely agree with all of this, the whole case was so strange for this movie!
@@PossessedbyHorror hello! I'm so flattered you watch my videos, as well. I love your stuff, though I'm a massive wuss so I don't watch like 80% of horror... but I like horror content on YT ha. Look I know the plot of every Saw movie but have only seen one Saw movie :P If you ever want/need help on the writing side/with publishing DM me! I love helping w/ stuff like that.
ah thank you so much! I know nothing when it comes to publishing and all of that, no where near ready but working on it 😬
THIS VIDEO IS GOLD!!!! Ever since you mentioned wanting to do a moonfall rant video I've been so excited and this was so funny and so good.
We don’t talk about Moonfall oh no nooo...
Thank you for this video. You saved me from disappointment lol I was very much like you looking forward to seeing this movie and it sounds like we had very similar expectations for it. Sad that it didn't come through! Appreciate you taking the time to talk about it though!
would love a review of the batman since it seems to have a lot of horror and thriller elements
Girl me and desperate housewives go way back. What a comfort show. Im on season five girly.
I feel so bad for Patrick Wilson 🥲
This review was very hilarious to watch. I didn't even see this movie, nor did I have plans to see it since the TV spots were pretty cringe.
tbh i remember seeing the trailer in theaters and it looked so bad, i'm glad i was right at least when i'm listening to you talk about it
I also had a bad movie experience recently!
As far as disaster movies go it just felt so real, definitely recommend if you haven't already seen it
I love your rants lmao. Sad that I've been waiting for this... glad I didnt pay
to me, this movie made my day. To be honest it was actually better than what I expected. And I actually love this movie. But I get it
I watched No Exit yesterday , honestly story generic but it was a good chill movie , totally recommend
I loved your story time at the beginning of the video! It was hilarious and I know what theater you were talking about. I go to SMG often
I completely agree! When I explained it to my husband I said exactly the same thing….. “completely unrealistic”. I was so disappointed
“You are the moon now” I died when they said that 😂😂 also are you gonna do a Batman review? It’s kinda like a horror movie
Great review,I was pissed I spent 40 bucks on that, snacks, drinks, etc, and my girlfriend was not happy as she loves Halle Berry
The effects were good, but the plot was all over the place and the acting of some people💀 I literally expected a disaster movie but then they brought the aliens !?! Yeah, that’s a no
I’d enjoy seeing other reviews of non horror movies. I hadn’t really heard of Moonfall but I’m so curious to see it now - even if it’s bad!
I would recommend checking out No Exit on Hulu if you'd like to watch a solid thriller. It was a fun film with some good twists.
Oh my gosh I don’t know why I haven’t thought about it before but have you seen the two sentence horror stories on Netflix? Some of them are super good but I would love to hear your take and maybe a ranking of the stories? I love you’re channel and can’t wait to see more!
No because I was crying laughing at the end of the movie, I couldn’t believe what I was watching 😭
I 100% agree with everything you said. My best friend tried to get me to like it and I was like, welp… I think the moon IS artificial and KC was my fave character. That’s all I got. 🤷🏽♀️
i would like to hear more horror reviews of your movie watching experiences at theaters that ish is funny
I like all your reviews would love to have review Yellowjackets.
While you were talking about the movie I was just thinking of (forgive me) Majora's Mask the whole time. I guess the explanation for why that moon is falling is better and SPOILERS:
You even go inside the moon at the end and it sure is something! Haha my favorite game ever.
White dwarf? Inside the moon? Umm what?
I hate those kind of people and it’s so funny how you said : you’re literally coming to a 5$ cinema . Stop .
This movie it’s saved by its visual because character and writing wise. Welllllll
If I’m honest , I was looking forward watching this just because Patrick Wilson was staring and we haven’t seen him much outside horror and YES definitely more videos like this
I can't say that I agree with your take for the most part but can appreciate your perspective given your expectations going in.
You should watch enter the void this month! It’s an incredible movie with one of the most memorable stories I’ve ever seen
Hahaha I remember you saying this was your most anticipated film this year. I pretty much had zero expectations for it after watching the trailer
There u go
So ready to watch this!!
LOL, I feel you on this one. I just hope you get a movie you actually get to like soon!
Edit to add: I can't stop thinking about those horrible people! Ewwww!
Girl, your snark is sublime; NEVER apologize for it! 🏋♂(Oh yeah, your reviews are fun, too.)
kurzgesagt did a video recently on what would actually happen if the moon collided into earth and yeah... there'd be no "waiting it out"
From time to time it would nice to hear about new films you loved. I also loved THE LAST DUEL and would have been more keen to hear your opinions on it rather than the tear down of another schlocky disaster from Emmerich.
Your hair is so pretty and you always have the coolest shirt
Your experience with that couple is exactly why I don’t go to the cinema, especially if it’s a sold out show
Have yet to see 'Moonfall', but from everything I'm hearing, it sounds very off-the-rails in a lot of the...
I would LOVE to hear you review The Exorcism of God. I don’t know why there are not many reviews.
I love your movie reviews and rants so much! The first trailer for MoonFall was really good I was excited but it was such a let down I expected it to be as good as 2012 or San Andreas but it’s way worse
Rude people make me 😡 😡
That’s exactly why I don’t like going to theaters anymore!
Roland Emmich movies are a hard and miss thats why not gonna remember the movie in t minus one day yeah already forgotten about it
I loved the movie. I think it's all about expectations. After the trailer I knew that I couldn't take this movie seriously, a bit like the fast & furious films. It's a nice movie to just turn your brain off an laugh along. My girlfriend and I were both super entertained and sometimes thats all I need 😁
Love your thoughts. I will probably never watch this. 💜
Same. No thanks 😂
A couple of movies I'd like your thoughts on: No Exit (which just came out) and Swallow.
I'm hoping you'll do a video/review on The Batman!
This movie was fucking great! Never thought of it as serious or realistic. Had a good time with it
I kinda enjoyed Moonfall because it was so insane.
*_Ah, hahahaha, you did a review on TCM. Not sure I'll waste time on watching it. Ah, Ok, I'll watch it now._*
Love your content and channel very much !! Great content keep it up !!:) also friend I have watched desperate housewives 3 times full and I still can’t get enough !! I’m 25 and wow love that show so much makes me laugh , cry, fall in love, wanna fight and everything else haha amazing show !!
March 1st is a national holiday here in Wales. It's our patron Saint day. Saint David or Dewi Sant in my mother tongue of Welsh. 🏴🏴🏴
The outfit.
That was a great movie totally recommend
I would love for you to talk about X when it comes out, And I’m loving these videos about movies other than horror.
I was excited at the concept when I heard about this at first and then I saw a trailer and was like yeah this is going to be bad. I have the A List at AMC and still didn’t go see it. But your experience sounds similar to my feelings on Serenity from 2019 lol. I watched it the other night and thought that a movie with Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway had to be decent at worst and boy was I wrong lol.
Thinking about it... One of my favourite whodunit/ horror t.v shows... Harper's Island. I'd love to hear what you think of it. Everyone I recommend it to enjoyed it.
