The twist reveal at the end had me absolutely howling with laughter. I wouldn’t necessarily call this a horror movie or a slasher, like it was being billed as, but man, did I have an absolute blast with this movie
Not going to lie.. it's super annoying when ppl say things like this. Especially on a "spoiler free" video. You didn't necessarily give a spoiler.. but even saying there's a twist at the end is kind of annoying honestly. Twists are much better when you have zero idea they're coming. Not as good when you know one is coming.. even if you don't know what it is.
@@ocd9033 most horror films have a twist ending tho so why does it bother you lmao. just stay out of the comment section if you don’t want spoilers, simple.
I’m not gonna lie as someone who is the age of the characters in this movie the way they were speaking was surprisingly realistic. Obviously it was very satirical and funny but they talked like real people and I loved that about it
Watched this this morning alone in the theater as a mid 20s, and the group behind me were some seemingly 40ish year olds and I kept hearing them sighing disappointed throughout while I was laughing so hard. They ended up leaving before the final reveal!! I can't imagine watching this movie and not sticking around to see the finale. I thought this movie was a trip! Super fun and funny.
I am 46 and this movie moved up into the ranks of one of my top favorite movies. That still blows my mind, even more than the reveal itself. I cannot believe I loved this one, but I do!!!!
it's very 20-something to be like, "the 40 y/os behind me were sighing and I have to reduce that to them being 40-something" rather than them just being people who didn't like it and you have no idea why. Unintentionally cringe-y and meta of you.
I recommended this movie to someone on Reddit and someone else replied saying the movie was "unrealistic to the way Gen Z actually acts" and when I asked them was generation they were a part of, they said they were over 30. it seems that the humour is going over older people's heads a bit as they're not from gen z and might not get the references. i've heard stuff for verbatim like Rachel Sennott's character saying "HE'S A LIBRA MOON!!" when i was in school. the people saying that it "sucks up" to gen z clearly haven't seen the movie because if anything it showcases the worst part of our generation, especially the ending/plot twist. on the other hand i'm sure us gen z'ers probably wouldn't laugh at comedy directed towards older generations either. boils down to an age thing.
This was by far my movie of the year. I went pretty tipsy with a few friends and it was one hell of a ride . The score had me dancing in my seat just as much as the soundtrack did. 9/10 for me , the ending had me like " what the hell " I had anxiety for no reason throughout this whole movie. Genius .
Me and my boyfriend have watched you for years! We genuinely go "what should we watch? Hmm let's see what possessedbyhorror recommends". We agree and disagree with alot of your recommendations which is great because we're watching such a wide variety of movies and broadening our film knowledge. I watched this back in March, and the entire theater loved it. I was absolutely shocked at how good it was. The director said it was partly inspired by Scream.
I absolutely adored this film! It was hilarious, intense when it needed to be, and overall it was just plain fun. It’s like a satire of the Game of Clue with a Gen Z twist. Adored it
This movie fully clicked with me. I loved every moment of it and thought the comedy was exactly for me. I'm also the age of the characters in this movie and I felt they portrayed my age group perfectly. This isn't my best movie of the year......but it is #2 for me LOL! Love the review and congrats on halfway through!!
This movie was awesome! I have never been such a ride between laughing hysterically and then going "Oh shit!". My husband thought it was stupid but myself, my sixteen year old and my twenty year old all loved it and laughed hysterically and have been quoting it since Saturday! WE might go see it again.
this movie was so fun to watch. my bf and i went to the latest showing and had the entire theater alone so we were talking and laughing the whole time. we were trying to figure out the whole time who the killer was and what twists we thought were gonna happen. we made a bet on what order we think the characters would die in. i really wanna see it again.
As a 20 something gen z’er I feel like this movie hit it on the nail. It was a fun movie that made me sit back and laugh at how we are all suppose to the run the world one day. Also Sarah is my go to film critic just had to say that
This was actually my most anticipated of the year (I’ve been following production and things for a long time) and I absolutely loved it. It’s hysterically funny if you were raised by the internet or even hate people that were. The ending was genius in my opinion! Also, congratulations!!! You’re gonna be the best mommy!!! ❤️❤️
I loved this movie, my friends and I spend a lot of our 20’s house sitting at our more successful peers & parents homes, doing waaayy waaaay waaaayyyy too many drugs… they captured & exaggerated our interactions so well, I was screaming in the empty theater 💀⚰️
About the blood Sarah: My bf explained to me that it came from them touching the dead body and then freaking out and touching their faces and stuff. Funny we had the same thought, though! I also absolutely love this movie, for real. You must be excited for Pearl in Sept!
Nope. That doesn't fly. I went back to watch the scene and outside of Beth no one is actually touching David's body that much. And as the camera pans, literally no one but Beth and another girl have any blood on them. And the blood they have on their faces/neck is almost non-existent. So by the time they run through pouring rain and then return to the house should have even LESS blood on them, not more. But instead, they are all now magically covered in blood now on their forehead, chest, cheeks, neck, etc. It looks like they were in a massacre when all they did was go to a collapsed body on the ground and barely touch it. So it was definitely a mistake in how this was shot. Your bf could have been right IF they had filmed it that way, but the problem is the film isn't shot that way so when you see them covered in blood two scenes later it's really jarring as they film never showed how or why it's even possible they are all now covered various stages of blood splatter.
I’ve had this video on pause for a whole year and I finally watched it today and then immediately came here for your review right after 😂🖤 love your videos
I would love to see a video of you and Ryan reading reviews for your favorite horror movies. I think it would be interesting to hear positive and negative reviews too that way we can get an overall consensus of how other people are feeling about a movie. Love your videos and hope you’re doing great!!
I had the exact thoughts, how were they all covered in blood after the first body reveal? 😭😭It kinda adds to the campiness/ over the top feeling to it kinda. loved this movie tho
i loved this movie so much, i’ve been a fan of rachel sennott for years and i loved seeing her in this movie she nailed it so hard. i thought it was hilarious and i loved the characters and the individual douchiness that they all had to them.
I'll be honest, I didn't like this movie that much but there was a lot I appreciated about it. The acting, and twists were the best parts, especially that ending! There were just some parts that felt dragged out and I was just waiting for the scene to finish. Also, with how annoying the characters are it borders on being TOO annoying, but it was bearable. Most of the time I was just lost but I persevered. If you want to watch this, 1) WATCH WITH FRIENDS - I watched this alone and this is not the movie for that, watching with others would make this so much fun (maybe get a little h!gh too and you'll have a blast). 2) HAVE LOW EXPECTATIONS - this is a given, this movie won't blow you away but it's fun I'll have to watch this again but it's a 6/10 kind of movie y'all (Congrats on the pregnancy and the milestone you've reached!!! I'm a casual viewer so I'm just now learning this, wishing good health for you and the baby!)
I really liked it. The overall vibe reminded me of “Tucker & Dale vs Evil” but less silly, and the film “All My Friends Hate Me” but more violent. I think the subject matter might hit a little too close to home for some people. Lol
This movie was so good ! I’ve actually seen it twice already, it’s extremely rewatchable. I loved the ending and the satire. Def one of my faves I’ve seen this year - would probably rate it 4.5/5
I’m SO happy you love this movie! I was scared you weren’t going to vibe with this movie, but I feel the same way you did! I saw it at a pre screening with a theater full of glow sticks and an audience that was super animated. My experience was so much fun and I was worried that my viewing experience was reflective of how i portrayed the movie but I walked away absolutely loving it. Especially rooting for a certain character that wasn’t necessarily the best person haha. But I gave it a 9/10, felt too short for how much fun I was having!
At the end you said you “highly highly” recommend and I thought you were going to say highly three times to mimic the movies 😂 Also I like your idea of reading reviews of your, or your and Ryan’s, favorite movies!! Excited to see this one in theaters! Also Alamo Drafthouse is showing The Thing in theaters at the end of this month and I’m HYPED!
so glad you liked it, Sarah! I find it kind of annoying that a lot of people don't understand that the characters and dialogue are SUPPOSED to be annoying- oh well, they're the ones missing out on a super fun movie. everyone's acting was so good in this though, they played their characters so well- I loved Chase Sui Wonders as Emma so much, but I thought Myha'la Herrold as Jordan and Maria Bakalova as Bee were also really great... everyone was great though!
BBB, X and SCREAM are my favorite movies of the year so far. BBB was absolutely phenomenal I love this movie with my entire heart and not only think it’s a fantastic movie I just love the overall concept and how genius it is I personally never seen a movie like this before, my eyes were superglued on the screen the entire third act and the ending truly shocked me 1000% recommend.
Felt the exact Same way. So funny and clever. Rachel Sennott needs a supporting actress Nomination. The lighting was unique and very well shot surprisingly. Loved the twist i partly saw it coming and yet didn't. I wish it had just slightly more substance and I did notice the few shots where they point the light as themselves and besides those few things I found this movie nearly perfect. Wonder would this make your top tier for A24 btw. It is in mine.
i saw BBB just like you did, in the theater by myself! i loved this movie too! it was much more tense and entertaining than i thought it would be. i think people dislike this movie, and other satires, because people don’t know how to receive and perceive a good satire. BBB is really self-aware of what it was doing, but i feel like people forget while watching that the whole purpose of BBB is to poke fun at gen z, rather than just to have a whole bunch of obnoxious characters. but overall, i think it worked really well, and i definitely want to re watch it!
also didn’t expect to like bodies as much as I did! my partner n I really enjoyed it. also I’d love to see you + Ryan reading negative reviews of your fave movies. sounds fun 💙
Yeah, I noticed the blood being all over them and making no sense. It really pulled me out of the movie. In retrospect, all they had to do was not have David collapse so immediately and instead have him still holding onto his neck as the friend group goes to him, then just pull his hand off, and it sprays them with blood as he's now falling, and you show that rather than staying on the Russian's girl's POV. I also agree about the blood inside, especially after the girl's fall. It looked too much like she had been murdered so the f all theory felt like a cheat. However, this could have been fixed with dialogue. Essentially someone could have brought up the case where that husband supposedly murdered his wife by throwing her down the stairs, but the was actually was not found guilty, and the blood on the walls and all that was just a consequence of the falling so the podcast girl could have been, "Sometimes real life is more bloody than even the movies," and it could have given her more depth like she's not just a whiny podcast girl, she reads, she pays attention to news, etc. Additionally the girl who gave her the drugs, could have said she tried to help her up, and she smeared the blood on the staircase in that effort. Point is, the movie was a bit "untidy" in some places, and another edit from an observant script-editor could have really bolstered the movie's credibility.
i’ve been hyped for bodies since it was announced in february and the hype was so well deserved. i feel like movie critics give it such a low rating because it’s not a high brow serious slasher and that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. critics need to learn how to have fun
So I love the idea of you and Ryan reading reviews of your favorite movies. Dooooo itttttt. Also, yeah, the first half of pregnancy is always super fast and after about 20-24 weeks, it just slows down and you feel like it'll never end.
I saw this twice this weekend, once by myself and once with friends. I loved it both times but it is so much more fun to watch with friends, especially if you know what happens and they don't. Definitely a great party movie!
I think a video where you and your partner would look at each others bad reviews on each other’s favorite movies would be a really good and fun video. I say you should definitely do it.
You guys could do a video where you try to guess the movie based on 1star reviews! It’s always fun as the audience to try to guess what movie it is at the same time
I definitely agree with you about the movie. I thought the movie was great, my audience was interacting with the movie which made it more enjoyable. I would recommend this to people that knows of A24 and the unique ideas they happen to grace us with. Ofc not all are great like Bodies.
I don't care for dark comedies either and I liked this more than I thought I would. I gave it 3.5/5 on letterbox. I went In with very low expectations but the humor really worked for me as someone who hates trendy internet culture. I live in Asheville, NC so I encounter people like these characters every single day and they were portrayed so accurately in the movie.
I absolutely loved this movie! The best way to describe it imo is more of a modern day Clue, I was shocked at how funny it was in even the tensest of moments. This is definitely a fun Halloween movie I’m gonna make my group of friends watch this year. Also: i think that idea of reading bad reviews to your fav movies sounds fun to watch!
I think that this movie was a perfect Gen Z dark comedy. Definitely a fun movie to watch with friends and the twist ending was the cherry on top for what the movie was commenting on to begin with.
This movie was so much fun, i got to go with a bunch of friends on Sunday, a24 "slashers" (this one technically isn't even one but shhhh) have been awesome this year x is one of my favorite movies already and I had a blast with this one too. Also I haven't been on the channel in a while so congratulations on your pregnancy!
I just got back from the theater and man did I have a fun time with this one. I understand that a lot of people aren't going to like this or won't even SEE it because of negative things they have heard but I'm glad I didn't listen to them since this was a real treat. I'm not Gen Z but all the characters reminded me so much of the kinds of people I grew up around so even though they were over the top caricatures of people, they were still based on genuine people so really...it all worked for me. AND MAN THAT ENDING, I LOVED it. I hope this movie finds its audience because man what a fun time.
I thought so too i DID NOT think i was going to like this movie, and now I cannot wait to see it again after watching the ending cannt wait to see the little clues and hints thrown around. Really clever and fun!
Yay! I was so excited to hear your thoughts. Bodies and X are also my two favorites of the year so far and I absolutely cannot understand the hype of Men and Black Phone
I loved the movie as well! I thought it was freaking hilarious. Every performance was great, but Pete Davidson, Lee Pace, and Rachel Sennott made me laugh the most.
I enjoyed the movie too! If you go in expecting to be entertained, you will be. The characters seem two dimensional but surprise you as the movie unfolds. Great commentary on how paranoia and fear can spread fast.
I’m just coming from seeing this movie and I ran to RUclips to see what you thought and I agree. I really loved this movie. It was soooo much fun. I didn’t have an expectation for the movie to be good but it was surprising and I love how I couldn’t guess what actually was going on.
This movie was great! 17:00-17:42 so relatable! I share a lot of the same opinions with movies as you do and you always do a great job at explaining your take on them. Looking forward to Pearl!
Aww congrats trust me it will seem like forever the next half lol iam super happy it's all going well for you hun xxx❤🥰as always loves your picks and info it wasn't what I would usually watch either 🖤
🤙🏼 *Congrats to you* 🤙🏼 As for the film itself, I'm glad reviewers are makin sure viewers are aware this is a sattire horror/comedy, knowin what tone to expect makes it easier to get immersed in the experience, comes out in the UK very soon.
I watched this movie as a gen z with my friends and the characters were so believable, we really do talk like this. and we laughed at how we've all met this group of friends as they are on every college campus and how hey should have never been friends in the first place. 10/10
I LOVED this movie! I think your comments are spot-on - it was fun, surprising, tense, kind of murder mystery vibes. I like slasher comedies best when they hit a balance between the genres they're straddling instead of going too far in either direction, and I think this movie does that really well.
wow i haven't seen this one yet but i was expecting you weren't going to like it or it was going to be super underwhelming and mid-tier. this review really surprised me and now i'm excited to check bodies out!! was on the fence with whether or not i should watch it but you've convinced me
I look at rotten tomatoes a lot. Don't always agree, but honestly, I find the general consensus fairly reliable, at least when it's overwhelmingly positive.
This movie may just be one of my favorite movies. A lot of movies are boring and played out to me, but I’m going back to the theater tomorrow to see it again! Also, I was initially excited to see this movie because of Myha’la Herrold because she is SUPERB in Industry on HBO and she brings some of that same intensity to Jordan in this film
Tbh imo I didn’t like this movie I was so bored watching this movie. I went in watching this movie barely knowing anything other than murder mystery and A24. I’m someone of Gen Z and I hated everything about this movie I didn’t find this movie funny at all. It got one laugh out of me and that was it. I didn’t care for this movie at all the only positive was the reveal cause I didn’t see that coming but that doesn’t make up anything for the movie. This is my least favorite horror movie of the year thank god I watched Orphan first kill today too cause that movie was so good it cleansed away the awful/boring experience of bodies.
I personally love it, it was soo funny, and I honestly love the place where the film takes, it made me feel anxious every time I was watching the characters going through the mansion, and I loved the use of the music, sounds and lighting in the scenarios it just added more intensity in the setting.
Very disappointed that you didn't say the full title out loud every single time
CZ we need a breakdown from you next!!

This movie sounds interesting 🤔. Have you been watching “the resort” on peacock? So far it’s a pretty decent mystery show.
Point is, the movie was a bit "untidy" in some places, and another edit from an observant script-editor could have really bolstered the movie's credibility.
i’ve been hyped for bodies since it was announced in february and the hype was so well deserved. i feel like movie critics give it such a low rating because it’s not a high brow serious slasher and that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. critics need to learn how to have fun
critics are giving it a high rating! it’s audiences that aren’t enjoying it as much
I love the review reading and commenting at the end, keep doing it!
Pregnancy and still glowing, love you Sarah.
You're doing great. Wishing you a huge glow up even after delivery.
I 100 percent mirror your thoughts on it. I was very surprised how much I enjoyed it
You guys could do a video where you try to guess the movie based on 1star reviews! It’s always fun as the audience to try to guess what movie it is at the same time
LOVE this idea we’re doing it!
Definitely a fun movie to watch with friends and the twist ending was the cherry on top for what the movie was commenting on to begin with.
i really enjoyed this movie! a lot of my friends weren't a fan, but i though it was great. im gonna buy the dvd as soon as it comes out
This movie was so much fun, i got to go with a bunch of friends on Sunday, a24 "slashers" (this one technically isn't even one but shhhh) have been awesome this year x is one of my favorite movies already and I had a blast with this one too. Also I haven't been on the channel in a while so congratulations on your pregnancy!
i’m so excited for BBB and orphan first kill
I just got back from the theater and man did I have a fun time with this one. I understand that a lot of people aren't going to like this or won't even SEE it because of negative things they have heard but I'm glad I didn't listen to them since this was a real treat. I'm not Gen Z but all the characters reminded me so much of the kinds of people I grew up around so even though they were over the top caricatures of people, they were still based on genuine people so really...it all worked for me. AND MAN THAT ENDING, I LOVED it. I hope this movie finds its audience because man what a fun time.
Congratulations I've just got 29 weeks it's getting scary close now. Hope you and your baby are doing well
I would LOVE a video about you and Ryan reading bad reviews of movies you love!! That sounds so interesting
I have been waiting for your review of this movie because i am anticipating this to be a new favorite! I cant wait to watch it
I thought so too i DID NOT think i was going to like this movie, and now I cannot wait to see it again after watching the ending cannt wait to see the little clues and hints thrown around. Really clever and fun!
Congrats on the pregnancy!! Your child is going to be so lucky to have such a great mom. Congrats again
Yay! I was so excited to hear your thoughts. Bodies and X are also my two favorites of the year so far and I absolutely cannot understand the hype of Men and Black Phone
I thought it was GREAT! I’m SO GLAD you liked it, too!! Congrats on being halfway there!! Woo hoo!!
I watched it at Fantasia Festival in Montreal and the audience was hysterical the entire movie.
I loved the movie as well! I thought it was freaking hilarious. Every performance was great, but Pete Davidson, Lee Pace, and Rachel Sennott made me laugh the most.
PLEASEEEE do the reading negative reviews to your favorite movies that idea is GOLDEN
I enjoyed the movie too! If you go in expecting to be entertained, you will be. The characters seem two dimensional but surprise you as the movie unfolds. Great commentary on how paranoia and fear can spread fast.
I also loved it! Such a fun movie and a lot of genuinely funny moments. I agree that Rachel Sennott is the standout.
I'm psyched for it. I'm a HUGE Lee Pace fan, so I'm excited to see him in this new movie.
I loved this movie, the music, the tone, the comedy. I want to rewatch it really bad, Rachel sennot! So entertaining!
I'm Dutch myself, and the pronunciation of the directors name is Halina Rine (with a rolling R). She is also an actress herself.
I’m just coming from seeing this movie and I ran to RUclips to see what you thought and I agree. I really loved this movie. It was soooo much fun. I didn’t have an expectation for the movie to be good but it was surprising and I love how I couldn’t guess what actually was going on.
I loved this movie! Such a fun watch and I was hooked on the mystery from start to finish! I also really liked Rachel Sennott's character
🤙🏼 *Congrats to you* 🤙🏼
As for the film itself, I'm glad reviewers are makin sure viewers are aware this is a sattire horror/comedy, knowin what tone to expect makes it easier to get immersed in the experience, comes out in the UK very soon.
I love your idea for a video where you react to negative reviews to your favorite films! Please, do it! Sounds really fun! :)
I watched this movie as a gen z with my friends and the characters were so believable, we really do talk like this. and we laughed at how we've all met this group of friends as they are on every college campus and how hey should have never been friends in the first place. 10/10
Congrats on the halfway mark mama to be! Also appreciate your ability to set aside your biases to be rather objective in these reviews!
20 weeks is super exciting! Congratulations!!
Im still in shock that you’re pregnant. I’m so extremely happy for you and I wish you all the best of luck with your pregnancy 🤍
I LOVED this movie! I think your comments are spot-on - it was fun, surprising, tense, kind of murder mystery vibes. I like slasher comedies best when they hit a balance between the genres they're straddling instead of going too far in either direction, and I think this movie does that really well.
it was so good im so hyped for pearl
I watched it last night and was pretty cool on it throughout but the reveal at the end pulled me back in.
I had missed that you are pregnant! Congratulations! how exciting
wow i haven't seen this one yet but i was expecting you weren't going to like it or it was going to be super underwhelming and mid-tier. this review really surprised me and now i'm excited to check bodies out!! was on the fence with whether or not i should watch it but you've convinced me
I was surprised with this one and really liked it. The ending was fun too.
I look at rotten tomatoes a lot. Don't always agree, but honestly, I find the general consensus fairly reliable, at least when it's overwhelmingly positive.
Sounds like my kind of movie! I cut my teeth on mysteries and thrillers and wish there were more. I'll look forward to seeing it.
I'm so glad you loved it too!! I've already seen it twice haha
I haven't seen this yet because I wasn't sure if I would hate all of the characters. I'll go see it this weekend!
I like your description better than the trailer. I’ll give it a chance when I can see it.
I personally love it, it was soo funny, and I honestly love the place where the film takes, it made me feel anxious every time I was watching the characters going through the mansion, and I loved the use of the music, sounds and lighting in the scenarios it just added more intensity in the setting.
I saw this at fantasia film festival and the crowd was siick!
Me too! It was so fun!
@@zea_b_a totally the best crowd at the entire festival
@@matt666massacre It was electric.
Congratulations!!!! So excited for you two :)
