I agree 100% 😊 I was 7 at the start of the 1980's and 17 at the end of that awesome decade. There was so much awesome about that decade and what a time to come of age in.
This came out the summer before senior year. My girlfriend and I used to hang out in her parents' living room with MTV playing for hours. This was one of our favorite songs. I would sing it to her while we danced slowly. We went our separate ways once school started but remained friends throughout the years and miles. She passed away in 2021. What a huge loss. She really was human sunshine. I'm sure glad we had the summer of 84. It was easily one of the best times of my life. Rest easy, Angelica. You were magic to anyone who knew you.

Agreed
They kept fading away, cant believe Ric is gone. Him and Benjamin Orr was the heart and soul of the Cars.
Benjamin, Elliot, Greg and David.
They were the Magic.
My second favorite Cars song; the upbeat tone, the lyrics of being in love with someone and the video scream SUMMER all the way! They had to have had a blast making this!
RIP Ric Ocasek!
This always reminded me of summer in the 80s.
