I figured I should share this FFXIV posing Blender plug-in with yall: github.com/6DK6DK/Ana-Blender-Pose-Helper It can be a great way to simplify your workflow if you have a specific pre-existing pose in mind and/or would rather not have to manually pose your character. - Twitter: x.com/MedjedMakes Kofi: ko-fi.com/medjedmakes
One thing I haven't see anyone mention. Is there a way to change which facial options you have chosen? Like mouth, jaw, eye shape, etc. I can go to deformation shapes but it seems to only accept one even if i select the ones I want. Edit: Never mind I figured it out, I had to go to shape keys. Figuring out how to even get to shape keys was a challenge and a half as someone who has 0 experience with blender lmao.
Honestly I have Been meaning to learn how to do this for a year and a half and i always procrastinated. I will now begin my first real attemt at this. (0 blender experience only some Rhino) So wish me luck
Good luck, if you have any questions let me know. I'm considering making a tutorial for beginners when I have more time. This one may be a bit hard to follow. (there is some extra info in the description though). One tip: try working with a simpler hairstyle first, since hair is the hardest part to get right.
I successfully printed a pair of smooth au_ra raen's dragon horns using the method in the video, but when I used displace to attach the mapping texture to the smooth horns, it pitted the horns because the original texture was too fuzzy and blurry to render the layered structure of the scales. I was wondering if anyone could provide a clear texture or a “complete” model of the horns.
This is astounding, and exactly what I was looking for. Do you have any suggestions on how to give Au Ra scales a bit of definition? They still seem flat after following this guide.
Hey, just wanted to say, I very much liked your video, it did help me get a print out. Though, I'm a total novice at blender I've experience in CAD 3D modeling. I'm actually looking at making some cosplay props though I'm now running into some issues. You wouldn't happen to have a discord or anything where a community might bounce questions off you would you?
Well done. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with Blender. Would you be able to make a step by step guide? I love the game Lineage 2, and I would like to do something like you did, but unfortunately I don't know how. Such a step-by-step guide would be a godsend for me, and probably for others too.
If you're watching, maybe you can tell me what I've done wrong. For some reason, when I bring a roegadyn woman into Blender, I can't pose the arms. The shoulders move but the arms are stuck in position; resulting in a strange stretch.
One thing that may help is to make sure you have the correct skeleton selected in the FMV in Textools. I noticed mine defaulted to Hyur Midlander instead of Au Ra Male, which left the skeleton not at all sized correctly.
Hi I’m having some problems with blender slowing down and crashing. Even cura it’s struggling hard. The model get really heavy even after remesh and decimate modifiers. Any tips? It’s so bad that I can’t even work on it after a certain point
Oh this is just what I was looking for, thank you so much! One problem though, when I try to apply a UV map with the displace modifier it just makes the whole mesh explode. Should I be doing something special with it?
hello Medjed! im having trouble when subdividing the mesh, for example it separates the fingers into separate parts, as well as separating geometry into weird shapes. in the tutorial it doesn't look like you have that issue. is there a setting im getting wrong?
I don't think I've had any problems with boots in FFXIV (most of the figures I print are busts after all, and it's been a while since I made that full-body figure shown in the video) so my answer may be a bit off. But I think I just deleted the geometry of the legs inside the boots (it may not even be a necessary step though, since I always apply the remesh modifier at the end, which "generates new mesh topology that follows the surface curvature of the original mesh", essentially cleaning up this sort of internal overlap between objects). I also recently worked on some Splatoon models using separate objects for the body and the gear items, and again, I just deleted the 'body' geometry that was inside the geometry of the clothes and boots.
I originally intended to make a step-by-step tutorial for this (instead of just an overview) but I was pretty busy at the time. In this reupload I essentially just added an extra section about hair because a lot of people seem to encounter problems with those models... So do I (lol), they are finicky because they're essentially just a bunch of intersecting 2D planes with transparencies (instead of a solid 3D object like in Overwatch or Splatoon). Anyway, I know I could have explained some things in more detail, there are some extra notes in the description, but also let me know if you have any questions.

YESSS, I will definitely print my bun boy now... and Hien of course.

What an incredible video. Thank you for this. I just googled and didn't find anything.

I spent the half month after this teaching myself blender, put scales and textures on it, and it ended up printing pretty well. Thank you channel!
Could you please make a video like this on busts?
This is so helpful, thank you!
Ohh interesting.. I looking for this!!
I 'd love to have my OC (Miqo' te) in 3D fig. 😍😍

Really cool video, but still a bit hard to follow at times, would love an more indepth video if you have the time
thanks

I am having issues finding a way to get the hair I use, rainmaker. I also can't seem to add my spear to the FMV view.

Oh... I'm definitely gonna learn to do this to create miniatures for ttrpgs based on my character
Can you print out some of the bosses like Brute Justice or Bahamut?
Can Garo armor and his horse be ripped?
How much do you charge to make.stl files of characters from the game or bosses?
Why does mine not come with color when I import it? xD
how do you extract the bones from texttools to blender. mine broke and can't pose them? is there a setting I'm missing?

change strength to something like 0.01. play with the number until you get a result you like

Had the same problem, you need to clean the mesh befor using modifiers. Timestamp in this vid is 1:17
How do you deal with things like boots being hollow and trying to close off at the knees, do you delete the geometry inside the legs?

I have a question. Do you accept commission for the stl files? Thanks!
Sure, I have a commission sheet in my Ko-fi page

@@medjedmakes thanks!
hehe I remember the first upload confused me so much im still confused maybe I gotta learn blender a bit more
